00:00A Hindu temple was turned into a temporary shelter for victims of the massive gas pipeline

00:10The Sri Mahakaliyaman Temple along Jalan Pucca Harmony opened its doors after scores of wounded
00:16people started streaming in.
00:20Temple advisor R. Micah Vasugam told FMT that his committee members alerted the authorities
00:25and tended to those needing urgent help.
00:28Micah Vasugam said the temple was turned into an emergency relief center with police
00:32and paramedics arriving at the scene.
00:36He said the temple's medical volunteers, aided by the Red Crescent Society and other
00:40first responders, tended to all the victims regardless of their race and ethnicity.
00:46Temple volunteers also served food and drinks, provided tents and toilets, and set up resting
00:51areas for victims and frontliners.
00:55The massive fire, which spread to several houses and forced residents to evacuate, was
00:59finally extinguished by 3.45 pm.
