00:00Barangay Don Marcelino was flooded in Davao Occidental due to the destruction of a road.

00:06The Office of Civil Defense did not see any casualties.

00:14In a video taken by a resident in Barangay Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental,

00:19you can see the flooding in Barangay Katigbao

00:22that resulted in the destruction of a box culvert that served as a road.

00:27The flooding happened yesterday, March 31, from 7 to 9 in the morning.

00:33This was after heavy rain in the so-called Easter Lease area.

00:38Motorists were able to pass through and were told to look for an alternative route to cross.

00:45According to the Office of Civil Defense or OCD-11,

00:49there were no casualties in the flood.

00:51They will conduct an investigation on what happened.

00:55Because of the lack of trees in the area, the reason for the flood is due to poverty.

01:00And the need for reforestation.

01:02One of the OCD-11's studies is the installation of a big bridge

01:07in the so-called barangay that will not be easily destroyed by the flood.

01:10Even though it is summer, Easter Lease is still there.

01:15It means that it is still possible for it to rain.

01:18Of course, we should take care of ourselves and our families by listening.

01:26We should listen to the advisory of Pag-asa, the advisory of the provincial disaster officer,

01:32the OCD, the municipal disaster officer and our barangay officials.

01:37Meanwhile, it is possible for motorists to cross the road because the barangay helped in finding a way

01:44and there were no casualties in the flood.

01:47Evacuation was not carried out because the flood lasted only a few hours

01:52and did not reach the residential area near the so-called barangay road.

01:57There were no casualties, ma'am.

01:58This school bus was damaged, ma'am.

02:02This was hit by the flood in Barangay Talagoton and Balontaya.

02:07The MDRMO reminded the residents to always listen to the advisories from their offices

02:13to ensure the safety of everyone.
