00:00So who Toddy Ennis is is I run a company called Love Your Mind Australia, which is a mental
00:08health movement.
00:09So I'm a mental health advocate, but I also have a 90 day program that runs online.
00:15And that shows the eight components of mental health shield that I encourage everyone to
00:20live by that gives you the best opportunity to shield yourself against mental health.
00:24So it's all through actions that I that I run.
00:28That was how I rebuilt myself from the moment there in 2018, when I was ready to take my
00:35final steps.
00:37Something that day, I'm not saying it was a big epiphany, but I just knew I wasn't ready
00:42to take that step.
00:43And I thought I'll just fight one more day and I made a phone call when I left.
00:47And that was a catalyst to rebuild my life and to be able to stand here before you today.
00:52As a man that I am making such an impact, not just our community, but the country, and
00:56hopefully across the globe, is probably the greatest achievement other than having my
01:00kids that I've ever done.
01:02At 42 years of age, I never thought the person I used to be, I would amount to anything.
01:08I actually didn't think I was a very good man at all.
01:11But I'm super proud of myself today to come into this space and be able to have such an
01:15impact on people's lives.
01:17Is it some sort of work or fundraising?
01:24Yeah, so with my fundraiser that we're doing on the 21st of April, which is Easter Monday,
01:29it's a public holiday.
01:32Statistically between the ages of 15 and 24 in Australia, suicide in our teens is at an
01:39all time high, and it's the biggest killer.
01:42So we had a guy in our community take his life not that long ago.
01:46And I thought, you know what, it's time for me to do something.
01:51So I aligned myself with the Lake Macquarie Newcastle Suicide Prevention Company.
01:55They used to have five or so staff, they're now down to two.
01:58So they're going under pretty quickly.
02:01And their program that they run, I find, is really effective for our teens in particular,
02:05and I don't want to see that happen.
02:07So I've aligned with them as a charity.
02:09I'm going to run from Blacksmith's Beach just into Nobby's Beach.
02:12It's not that big a run, it's more about just raising awareness, creating some money for
02:17those guys, and just showing our teens and their parents and that someone in their community
02:22cares, and that I'm in their corner, they can always contact me.
02:27And if you could just fight one more day, and they can see how much fun we have on the
02:30run, they might just think that maybe that might be something to give them a bit of hope
02:33to get up the next day.
02:34That's what I want to do.
