00:00Let me just ask you before we let you go about President Trump suggesting that he could run
00:05for a third term.
00:06I mean, he says he is not joking about this, so you can say, oh, well, this is Trump rhetoric.
00:10He says he is not joking and that there are, quote, methods for doing so.
00:15Are you aware of any methods for a president to flout the Constitution and run for a third
00:19term?
00:20You know, I just visited the Medal of Honor Museum in Dallas, and I can say almost everyone
00:26that is on that board gave an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, both
00:32foreign and domestic.
00:33I don't see an end around the Constitution, and there are some things I don't bend on.
00:39I don't bend on the Constitution, and there are a lot of members in Congress that will
00:43not bend either on the Constitution.
00:46But there is also a constitutional crisis coming up on the courts.
00:50You see that some lower courts now believe that they have the power of the executive.
00:57And the way our Constitution was constructed, there are equal powers.
01:01And so when a lower court decides they interfere or encroach on the executive, that too will
01:06come up.
01:07So I think we have, you know, the lower court decision to go up, and I'm hoping that Roberts
01:13is smart enough, and I believe he is.
01:14Just to be clear, though, and you're talking about the nationwide injunctions from these
01:17judges that both Democrats and Republicans have complained about when it's impacted them
01:21adversely.
01:22But just really quick, you wouldn't vote to amend the Constitution to allow the President
01:26to run for a third term is what I'm hearing, right?
01:28You know, on the Constitution, I like it as written, and I think most Americans do, too.
01:33All right, Congressman Ryan Zinke, thank you for your time.
01:35Appreciate you coming in.
