00:11hold Westmoreland's police to account to ensure that they're doing
00:14everything within their power to prevent and tackle car crime,
00:18bring offenders to justice and recover vehicles, but we also need
00:22manufacturers to ensure that car security features are fit for purpose
00:26and a top priority so that as far as possible we can prevent cars being
00:30stolen in the first place. I publish a car theft
00:34index each year so that consumers can make an
00:36informed choice when deciding which car to buy
00:40and to encourage car manufacturers to ensure continuous improvement
00:44in car security.
