00:00How does the EU support for Ukraine stand after three years of war?
00:08Between 2022 and 2024, support for Ukraine and its displaced people has fallen.
00:14In 2022, 88% of respondents across the EU welcomed people fleeing the war with a
00:20particularly high degree of support coming from Nordic countries.
00:24A year later, the support had fallen to 76% across the EU.
00:29In 2024, support for Ukrainian refugees dropped again to 71%,
00:34with a particularly low share in Poland at 60%.
00:38Respondents increasingly say that their government have done too much by providing
00:43Ukrainian refugees housing and assistance with an increase of 7.9 percentage points
00:49between 2022 and 2024.
00:52The experience of deprivation is another strong factor in determining
00:56the level of support for displaced Ukrainians.
00:59Among respondents who reported difficulty making ends meet,
01:03dissatisfaction with humanitarian aid rose by 8 percentage points
01:07and with military aid by 7.5 percentage points.
01:12Almost one in five of those whose economic situation was difficult across the two years
01:17withdrew their support for their government's housing of Ukrainians,
01:21while 22% of those whose economic situation became difficult
01:25withdrew their support for the government's sending military aid.
