00:00Police have received three reports regarding a scuffle between Kuala Lumpur City Hall,
00:06DBKL enforcement officers, and a balloon hawker in Jalan Twangku Abdul Rahman, which has since
00:12gone viral.
00:14Kuala Lumpur Deputy Police Chief Datuk Azri Akhmar Ayob stated that the first report was
00:19filed by a DBKL enforcement officer on Saturday, prompting an investigation under Section 186
00:26of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant's duties.
00:31The second report, also made on the same day by another DBKL officer, concerns the distribution
00:37of a photo of the complainant from the first report.
00:41The photo was posted on Facebook with accompanying threats.
00:45This case is being investigated under Section 505, Subsection B of the Penal Code, and Section
00:52233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act, 1998.
00:57Earlier, DBKL officials had explained that the incident occurred after the hawker refused
01:03to comply with enforcement orders and allegedly acted aggressively toward the officers on
01:08duty.
01:09Azri Akhmar added that the third report was filed by the balloon vendor's mother, who
01:14claimed her son had sustained injuries during the scuffle.
01:18An investigation has been launched under Section 325 of the Penal Code for causing
01:23grievous hurt.
01:25He urged the public to refrain from speculating or spreading information that could hinder
01:30the investigation, and encouraged anyone with relevant information to contact the Kuala
01:35Lumpur Police Hotline at 03 2 1 1 5 9 9 9 9 or visit the nearest police station.
