00:00We will try to take as many questions as we can and start next round next to them.
00:10In both matches, the top order is higher, but in the middle order, is it more overwhelming for some runs?
00:16Is it a matter of micro-runs and goals ahead?
00:30It's not a bad start, so I don't think we are at all concerned about our middle order.
00:42What exactly went in your favour in this particular match?
00:46So many things. I think the way we started off in the power play and then on this kind of a wicket, scoring close to 200 runs is a great confidence for us going into the second innings.
00:58And I think the way we bowled in the power play, the way we bowled in the middle, everything went our way I think in this match.
01:06What is the thinking behind the plan and how much do you think that plan has contributed? There is nothing wrong with preparing for the next match, but I want to hear from you. How much of the boulders have struck the right plan?
01:35So I think each team has their own strengths and the way they like to play certain type of a cricket. I think this kind of a wicket suits our betting and bowling overall strength of our team more than on the red soil.
01:50And I think the way the game is going, we see 250-240 runs, we have to sometimes give those cushion for the bowlers, so there is something in it for the bowlers. And the game is just an equal game, we just don't want all the games to be 240-250 runs.
02:08I feel if there are such high scoring games, the skill out of cricket, it takes away from that.
02:16But you thought that it was the best way to stop all the bowling games?
02:21Sir, we decided to play on this wicket before we played the first match. Also because we played the previous match on a red soil wicket and there was not enough time for us to prepare a red soil wicket.
02:34So it was decided before we played the first match that we are going to play this match on a black soil wicket. So it had nothing to do with the opposition.
02:45So the head of the sideline, you got injured?
02:48No, he is fine, I think. Just a pull or a cramp. He is fine.
02:57In the first match, we had a lot of betting and the fact that it was going strong, was there a possibility that we could just pull it back?
03:11When you are chasing 200 runs on a wicket like this, we know as an opposition that we have to try to squeeze in as much pressure as we can on the batsmen.
03:19And that's what the talk was in the middle. There were some shots that were easy to hit on a wicket, there were some shots that were difficult.
03:28So we were making sure that they were hitting difficult shots on that wicket, which we thought were difficult when we were betting.
03:36So that's what we talked about when we went in. These are the shots that we think, when we were betting, were difficult to hit.
03:42So let's make sure that we get hit on those shots.
03:45Was it more difficult for David to make a 0-8? What was the plan for him and how well did you think he pulled it off?
04:16In the first three overs, he gave around 6 or 7 runs. In a T20 game, when the opposition is chasing 200, the match is almost done and dusted there.
04:24Yeah, the human possible motivations for going that long is the boys' value.
04:30And at one stage, it seemed that GT was heading towards 225 plus with a great partnership.
04:36But in a win over college, Mumbai got a lead at 196.
04:43So when they started, did you think that this was enough score to defend?
04:49Most certainly, yes, we did. This is enough score for us to defend.
04:54We never thought we were going to get 225, honestly. We thought we were going to get 210.
04:59If we bet well, we're going to get 210. It's not easy on this wicket to hit in the death with the ball tailing in a little bit.
05:05If there is no dew, it's not easy to hit on these kind of wickets.
05:09It's not easy to score 15 runs per over in the last five overs.
05:15So we were actually pretty happy. If before the match someone would have told me that we're going to bat first and post nearly 200 on this wicket, I would have taken it.
