00:00There are so many ways to use Eggo waffles
00:03and I'm about to show you 17 of my new favorites.
00:06Number one, waffle smash burger.
00:09No buns, no problem.
00:10Waffles will work just as well.
00:12I like to cook everything in one pan
00:14so while your meat is cooking on one side,
00:16start toasting your waffles on the other.
00:18You're gonna wanna flip one side into the burger grease
00:20when those burgers are done.
00:21You can top it however you like.
00:23I like a little burger sauce,
00:24some thinly sliced onion and pickles.
00:26Once I put that top bun on,
00:27I love to give it one more smash.
00:29What I love about this waffle bun
00:31is it doesn't fall apart when it gets all greasy.
00:33That's some good stuff right there.
00:34Number two, waffle churros.
00:36This sweet treat is your next party trick
00:38or late night indulgence.
00:39Just simply take your waffles and cut them into thirds.
00:41This creates the perfect little party dipper.
00:44Lightly coat your waffles in melted butter
00:45and cinnamon sugar and then air fry them at 400 degrees
00:48for eight minutes, flipping halfway through.
00:51These look so good.
00:52That crunchiness on the outside is to die for.
00:55Listen up.
00:56That's my favorite sound.
00:59This gives you the churro experience, no oil required.
01:07Number three, waffle pizzas.
01:08It's a handheld pizza where you don't have to make the crust.
01:11Simply toast them, top them and toast them again.
01:14I'm keeping it traditional with my toppings
01:16but go in with whatever you like.
01:18You could even do dessert pizzas with the same format.
01:20I'm doing these in the oven
01:22but you could also pop these in the air fryer.
01:23400 degrees is the perfect temp.
01:25Just bake them until they're golden, crisp and melty.
01:28I like to finish mine off
01:29with a little kick of crushed red pepper.
01:30And why not some fresh basil to make it pretty?
01:33It's just the perfect handheld little package.
01:37There's nothing that makes me happier
01:39than a crispy crust on a pizza.
01:40This is the easiest way to get that.
01:42Waffles for the win.
01:43Number four, waffle croutons.
01:45Once you've made croutons with waffles,
01:46you'll never go back.
01:47Every bite is like the perfect inside of the garlic bread.
01:51You get crunchy on the outside,
01:53chewy, buttery goodness on the inside.
01:55You're just gonna wanna cut your waffles
01:56into about 20 pieces.
01:58Next, you're just gonna add them to a baking sheet,
02:00toss them with melted butter,
02:01grated Parmesan cheese, dried parsley,
02:03salt, pepper and garlic powder.
02:04Give them a good toss
02:05and then spread them into a single layer
02:07and bake them at 400 degrees for about eight to 10 minutes,
02:09flipping halfway through.
02:10Please look at how good these look.
02:12You see how all the goodness is absorbed
02:14into that nook and cranny right there?
02:16That's the benefit of using waffles versus bread.
02:18Here's the real test.
02:19Listen up.
02:22Mm, it's crunchy but it's also chewy.
02:24They're perfect on your salad
02:25but they also are a great upgrade to your soups.
02:27Number five, s'mores with mini waffles.
02:30How cute are these?
02:31We're gonna toast these mini waffles
02:32and then add our chocolate of choice
02:34and the roasted marshmallow.
02:35If you don't have the mini waffles,
02:37obviously this works just as well with the regular size.
02:39For me, I'm using my favorite candy
02:41because it's the perfect fit.
02:44If you don't feel like roasting these over an open flame,
02:46you can easily do this in the oven.
02:47Just pop it all under the broiler for about a minute.
02:50Don't go too far because it happens fast.
02:52You want it to be melty all the way through
02:54but I like mine with a little char.
02:55Get that goodness in there.
02:57This is about to get messy.
03:02These are actually a little less messy
03:03because they're holding the fillings in better.
03:05I really love how the outside stayed toasty too.
03:09This is perfection.
03:10Number six, pigs in waffle blankets.
03:13You've made pigs in a blanket before
03:14the same way every time.
03:16This is something different.
03:17Simply take a thawed waffle,
03:19roll it out and roll up your sausage.
03:20Secure it with a toothpick,
03:22brush a little melted butter on it
03:24and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning.
03:25Everything bagel seasoning adds flavor and crunch.
03:28What I love about these is they're a little more substantial
03:30than the party size.
03:31My kids love these as easy grab and go breakfast.
03:34Another thing I love about this alternative
03:36is how crispy the outside gets.
03:37You can even make these ahead of time,
03:39keep them in the freezer and just pop these in the air fryer
03:41400 degrees for about 10 to 12 minutes.
03:43Oh yeah.
03:44For breakfast, my kids like to dip these in syrup
03:46but for me, I go old school with some good mustard.
03:49Your old pigs in a blanket don't get crispy like this.
03:52Number seven, French toast waffles.
03:55Yes please.
03:56Sub waffles for bread in your next French toast recipe
03:59and thank me later.
04:00You just wanna take your waffles, slightly thawed
04:02and dip them into your egg and milk mixture.
04:04It's just a couple eggs with some milk
04:06and a little bit of cinnamon.
04:07Once they're nice and soaked,
04:08just cook them how you normally cook French toast
04:10in a good buttered skillet.
04:12Low and slow is the best way to go
04:13so I like to cook mine on about medium to medium low heat,
04:16flipping occasionally.
04:17You're gonna top this just like you do your French toast
04:20and watch all that goodness go into those nooks and crannies.
04:23If you're looking to elevate your waffle game,
04:25skip the toaster and make French toast.
04:28Number eight, waffle breadcrumbs for everything.
04:31Just tear your waffles into a food processor,
04:33grind them up, spread them into an even layer
04:35onto a baking sheet and bake at 250 degrees
04:38for about 15 minutes, stirring every five minutes or so.
04:40What you end up with is a super crunchy breadcrumb
04:43just like Panko.
04:44If you want a super fine breadcrumb,
04:46just pulse them again at this point after they're toasted.
04:48You can totally use these breadcrumbs
04:50as toppings for casseroles,
04:51as binders in your meatloaf or meatballs,
04:53or as breading for your fish or chicken.
04:56See, waffles work just as well as any other breadcrumb.
05:01Number nine and number 10, hack your Taco Tuesday
05:04by replacing your tortillas with waffles.
05:06You can either make waffle quesadillas
05:08or what I'm gonna show you right now,
05:09we're making waffle breakfast tacos.
05:11All you need is a muffin tin.
05:13Flip that baby upside down.
05:14Take your waffle that's been thawed out
05:16and give it a spray with some olive oil spray on both sides.
05:20Then just form it into the shape of a taco
05:22and stick it between the muffin cups.
05:23You can do this hack with tortillas
05:26to make homemade taco shells, just FYI.
05:28Then just pop these into the oven
05:29at 425 degrees for about seven minutes.
05:32And this is what they look like.
05:33They're toasted around the edges and ready to be filled.
05:35You can fill these with classic taco toppings
05:38or I'm making breakfast tacos.
05:39Because they're toasty on the outside
05:41but soft on the inside, they're kinda like a combo
05:44of the soft and crunchy tortilla shells.
05:46Contrary to what you might think,
05:47these waffles are not sweet.
05:49So the perfect thing for a savory treat.
05:51I mean, how cute are these?
05:52And check out this quesadilla.
05:53You gotta pull out one of these hacks
05:55next time the craving hits.
05:58Number 11, waffle chips.
06:00I'm turning these into chips for nachos.
06:02Take a fully thawed waffle, roll it out flat,
06:04then spray both sides with cooking spray.
06:06Season it with whatever seasoning you like.
06:08I'm using Tajin and then cut it into wedges.
06:10You wanna roll them as flat as you can
06:11so they get extra crunchy.
06:12These cook so fast.
06:14Just pop them in the air fryer 400 degrees
06:16for about three minutes or until they're crispy.
06:17Just look at these.
06:18The perfect chip.
06:19I'm topping these with all my favorite things.
06:21Some saucy taco meat, queso, a little salsa,
06:24avocado, chilies, and cilantro.
06:26Absolutely no one would know this plate of nachos
06:29started as waffles.
06:30Number 12, eggs in a waffle basket.
06:32I've always called it a hole in one.
06:33Some call it a toad in a hole.
06:34Whatever you call it, it's damn delicious.
06:36And the round bread just makes sense.
06:38Place your thawed waffle down, cut out the hole.
06:42Don't discard the cutout, that's your dipper.
06:43Start by melting some butter and toast your waffle
06:46right in the skillet.
06:46You wanna get it nice and toasty
06:47before you crack your egg in.
06:49And obviously, you're gonna crack your egg in the hole.
06:51Don't forget to season the egg right after you crack it in.
06:53I like to cook this like I do a fried egg.
06:55Couple minutes on one side, flip it,
06:56and keep the runny yolk.
06:57I love my fried eggs topped with a little hot sauce
06:59and chives.
07:00That is a hole in one.
07:04Mm, the toasty edge, the little squares
07:07that hold all the yolk and sauce.
07:09Winner, winner, waffle dinner, except it's breakfast.
07:12Number 13, waffle ice cream sandwiches.
07:14These are so sweet.
07:15You wanna start with your waffles toasted,
07:17then just fill them up with whatever
07:18your favorite ice cream is.
07:19Make sure they're nice and filled.
07:21Then smash it with a top waffle and freeze them overnight.
07:24They're a little too big to be a single serving,
07:25so what I like to do is cut them in half
07:27and then dip them in a little bit of chocolate
07:29or just add sprinkles, or both.
07:30But they're also delicious on their own
07:32and they don't even need toppings.
07:33What I love is that these waffles are not as sweet
07:35as a sugary cookie, so it's like the perfect balance.
07:37But it also gives you that waffle cone experience.
07:40And next up, one of the easiest ways to use waffles
07:43is as a substitute for bread.
07:45They're perfect for open-faced sandwiches
07:47like Eggs Benedict, or like classic deli sandwiches
07:49or my personal favorite, a panini.
07:51And I'm showing you the panini.
07:53For this, it's fine to start with frozen waffles.
07:55Just spread some butter on one side of each waffle.
07:58This is gonna be the outside.
07:59One of my favorite combinations is brie, apples, and bacon.
08:02You get a little sweet, a little salty, and a little creamy.
08:04I'm using a combination of sweet and tart apples.
08:07By now you know how good these waffles
08:09are gonna stay crispy on the outside,
08:10but these are also gonna hold together
08:11so well in this panini.
08:13If you don't have a panini press,
08:14you can simply use two skillets.
08:16Cook the panini in one skillet
08:17and press down with the other.
08:19This is why I love paninis.
08:21I cannot wait to sink my teeth into this one.
08:24We did not put a lot of butter on there,
08:26but the waffle absorbed every bit of it
08:28and you can taste it in every bite.
08:30And lastly, number 17, waffle trifle.
08:33Waffles can substitute cake
08:34in any of your favorite trifle recipes.
08:36Just simply quarter them,
08:37toss them with a little butter and sugar,
08:39and toast them up until they're crisp.
08:41This way they don't get soggy in the trifle.
08:43For me, I love a fruit trifle,
08:44so I'm just layering my waffles
08:46with a custard, berries, and fresh cream on top.
08:48After you layer it up,
08:49you're gonna let it sit in the fridge
08:51for at least a couple hours
08:52to let all those flavors absorb in.
08:53And now we dig in.
08:55The sad part when it comes to trifles
08:56is they look pretty until it's time to dig in.
09:00Nobody wants to be that first person.
09:02Those sugar-crusted waffles stay crisp,
09:05unlike soggy cake.
09:06This is one you're gonna wanna do.
09:09Well, that's about as many waffles
09:11as I can eat in a day.
09:12If you tried any of these recipes,
09:13let me know which one's your favorite.
