00:00On 28th March, the Union Cabinet approved a 2% increase in the Dearness Allowance for Central Government Employees.
00:17In the Central Cabinet Session, the Government has taken this major decision and with this increase, the Dearness Allowance for Central Employees and Pensioners will be increased from 53% to 55%.
00:31The last increase was in July 2024, when the Dearness Allowance was increased from 50% to 50%.
00:38Now, a 2% increase has been made, after which 2% of Dearness Allowance will be added to the basic salary of the employees.
00:47This increase will be considered effective from 1st January 2025 and the increase will benefit crores of employees and pensioners.
00:55So, let me explain the entire calculation in detail, how much will the 2% Dearness Allowance increase affect people's salaries.
01:05For example, if someone's basic salary is Rs 50,000, then according to the 53% Dearness Allowance, he will get an increase of Rs 26,500.
01:14But according to the 55% Dearness Allowance, he will get an increase of Rs 27,500, i.e. an increase of Rs 1,000 in the salary of the employees.
01:23Whereas, if the basic salary is Rs 70,000, then the increase will be Rs 37,100, but according to the 55% Dearness Allowance, the increase will be Rs 38,500, i.e. an increase of Rs 1,400 in the salary of such employees.
01:38Similarly, if your basic salary is Rs 100,000, then according to the 53% Dearness Allowance, you will get an increase of Rs 53,000.
01:46But now, according to the 55% Dearness Allowance, you will get an increase of Rs 55,000, i.e. an increase of Rs 2,000 in the salary of such employees.
01:59In the last few years, inflation has increased by 3% or 4%, but in the last 78 months, i.e. 6 and a half years, for the first time, there has been an increase of only 2% in the Dearness Allowance.
02:11Prior to this, inflation had increased by 2% in 2018, but since then, we have seen an increase of only 3% or 4%.
02:20But now, this news has given a strong shock to the central employees.
02:24In fact, before the new pay commission is implemented, the more growth there will be in the Dearness Allowance, the more benefit the employees will get.
02:31But now, the 8th pay commission has been announced and just after the announcement, the news has come that the Dearness Allowance has increased by only 2%.
