00:00In the coming weeks prisoners will begin to arrive at this site and in time this
00:05jail will hold 1,500 as part of the 14,000 places that we have committed to
00:12delivering. Milsyke offers much-needed prison capacity but it does more than
00:17that too. This prison sets the standard for the future because it is a prison
00:24designed to cut crime. Milsyke is designed to keep prisoners in and keep
00:30contraband out. It is fitted out with cutting-edge security and over 1,500 CCTV
00:37cameras. We must and we will punish offenders but that punishment must
00:43encourage them to turn their backs on a life of crime. That is how we will cut
00:48crime, have fewer victims and ultimately make our streets safer. And today with
00:54the opening of HMP Milsyke we take another major step forward.
