00:00:00We have some breaking news, it's coming in, protest against Chief Minister Mamata at
00:00:04Oxford University left back SFI staged protest against Mamata Banerjee.
00:00:09The stir was during Mamata's Oxford University speech, the SFI protesters claim Mamata lied
00:00:15in the speech.
00:00:16The SFI says, asked Mamata to give proof for social development and they say that they
00:00:20are not allowed to protest, cops were instead called in.
00:00:27The West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while addressing the Kellogg College, Oxford
00:00:31University in London was interrupted suddenly by a group of protesting students who tried
00:00:36to disrupt her speech by raising questions on issue of post-poll violence and the RG
00:00:41Corp College and hospital financial scandal.
00:00:43My colleague Suryagini is joining me on the phone line with more details, Suryagini give
00:00:47us more details on what this protest was about, there were SFI protesters claiming that Mamata
00:00:52lied in the speech, what lie are they talking about?
00:00:54What issues did they raise?
00:00:56Well, yesterday when the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was speaking, she was making her
00:01:01speech at Kellogg College in Oxford University, we saw chaos had erupted over there when students
00:01:10of the SFI international unit or rather the UK unit, they were seeing protesting and raising
00:01:17questions and interrupting the Chief Minister's speech inside the venue where Mamata Banerjee
00:01:27was making her speech, the SFI student leaders, they interrupted the speech on RG Corp issue
00:01:37and also on investment issues in the state of West Bengal, however the Chief Minister
00:01:46Banerjee replied back that she asked them not to do anything that will demean the university's
00:01:54name and eventually the SFI workers were asked to leave from that particular spot by the
00:02:04administration that was conducting the speech and the speech went, continued as per its
00:02:11rules, so we did see chaos at the venue wherein SFI protesters and some other members of the
00:02:25audience who questioned Mamata Banerjee and interrupted her speech but eventually that
00:02:31got cooled down and Mamata Banerjee finished her speech, back to you.
00:02:36Thanks Suryagini for bringing us those details on that story, SFI protesters heckling Chief
00:02:40Minister Mamata Banerjee during her speech, asking her for proof of development and also
00:02:44raking up the RG Corp incident and the post war violence in West Bengal.
00:02:57We have some more breaking news that's coming in, a Justice Yashwant Verma case to be heard
00:03:01in the Supreme Court today, it's been demanded in the petition that Delhi Police should be
00:03:05directed to register an FIR, it's been said in the petition that there is no justification
00:03:10for the Supreme Court to form a committee of three judges in the case and the investigation
00:03:14should now be done by the police.
00:03:22So that's the latest that we have, Justice Verma's case will be heard in the Supreme Court
00:03:26today and it's been demanded that the petition, that the Delhi Police should be directed to
00:03:30register an FIR, it's been said in the petition that there's no justification for the Supreme
00:03:35Court to form a committee of three judges in the case, the investigation should now
00:03:39be done by the police.
00:03:41My colleague Srishti Ojha is joining me on the phone line with more details.
00:03:44Srishti, we are hearing that Justice Verma case will be heard in the Supreme Court today
00:03:48and the petition is that the Delhi Police now should register an FIR in the case, what
00:03:53more details can you give us?
00:04:05Speaking that the criminal action should basically be set in motion against Justice Verma in
00:04:10this case, the seeking direction is registration of FIR against him immediately, according
00:04:16to them the constituting three member committee probe is not enough and not just that, they
00:04:22have also questioned whether the three member committee could have been constituted in this
00:04:28matter in the first place.
00:04:30The petition states that the three member committee constituted has no jurisdiction
00:04:34to conduct the investigation considering what the kind of incident that is this, not just
00:04:39that they said that, they sought a declaration that the incident of the alleged recovery
00:04:44of cash at his residence constitutes a cognisable offence under the criminal law and therefore
00:04:51FIR should be registered immediately.
00:04:57Other than that, there is also a general direction which is sought to the government to take
00:05:01meaningful steps to eradicate and curb corruption across the levels, across all levels of the
00:05:07judiciary.
00:05:08So, this petition we have seen was earlier mentioned but no urgent hearing was granted,
00:05:14we also saw the petitioner tell court that if the case involved an ordinary person, the
00:05:19action taken would have been different, no benefit of doubt would have been given.
00:05:23So, it will be crucial to see how the court responds and reacts to this because the petitioner
00:05:27has come in a PIL when a three member committee has already been constituted by the top court.
00:05:32Right, thanks Srishti for bringing us those details.
00:05:34The PIL mentioning that the three member committee has no jurisdiction to conduct a probe and
00:05:38hence asks for Delhi Police to file an FIR against High Court Judge.
00:05:47Shifting focus now, the BJP vs TMC face-off over infiltrators in Bengal, accusing the
00:05:51Trinamool Congress led government in West Bengal of not taking stern action against
00:05:56illegal infiltration.

00:06:02West Bengal government did not give land for it.
00:06:04The Home Minister said the fencing work remained pending despite the central government writing
00:06:0911 letters to the West Bengal government and holding 7 rounds of talks with state officials
00:06:13on the issue.
00:06:14He also accused the TMC government of providing fake Aadhaar cards to the infiltrators.

00:20:15The recent milk price hike has sparked political tension in Karnataka, with the BJP criticising
00:20:20the Congress-led state government.
00:20:43The state government has defended its decision.
00:20:49As the final decision is being weighed, the Karnataka government faces the challenge of
00:20:53balancing consumer affordability with ensuring fair compensation for farmers.
00:21:00Bureau report, India Today.
00:21:03We have some breaking news that's coming in.
00:21:12US President Donald Trump has hosted an Iftar dinner at the White House where he thanked
00:21:16Muslims in America for voting for him in record numbers in the 2024 presidential elections.
00:21:28Every day we're keeping our promises to the Muslim community.
00:21:31My administration is engaged in relentless diplomacy to forge a lasting peace in the
00:21:36Middle East, building on the historic Abraham Accords, which everybody said would be impossible.
00:21:42And now we're going to start filling them out because, as you know, Biden did nothing
00:21:46to fill them out.
00:21:47He did absolutely.
00:21:48We had the four great countries and nothing happened despite the importance of the Abraham
00:21:54Accords.
00:21:55But I have a feeling it's going to fill out very quickly.
00:21:57People are talking already about it.
00:21:59They should have had them long, long ago.
00:22:02It should have been done.
00:22:09We have some breaking news that's coming in.
00:22:11The US-Canada tariff war hits top gear.
00:22:13Canada Prime Minister says close ties with the United States are now over.
00:22:17He further says we'll restructure Canadian economy.
00:22:20The new Canada Prime Minister mulls talks with the United States President Donald Trump.
00:22:26So Mike Carney has said that the era of deep economic security and military ties between
00:22:31Canada and the United States are now over.
00:22:34And he said this yesterday after President Donald Trump announced steep auto tariffs.
00:22:39Trump's planned 25 percent levy on vehicle imports to the United States is to come into
00:22:43force next week and could be devastating for the Canadian auto industry that supports an
00:22:48estimated 500,000 jobs.
00:22:52Shashank Mattu, my colleague, is joining me live on the broadcast in more details.
00:22:58Shashank, this comment that has come in by the Canadian Prime Minister, it doesn't really
00:23:02bode well for Canada and US ties.
00:23:04What can you tell us?
00:23:05Absolutely.
00:23:06I think this wasn't the kind of statement that would have been unimaginable even a year
00:23:10ago.
00:23:11But now it seems all too commonplace in the Western world to be making statements like
00:23:15this.
00:23:16I think Donald Trump's tariff war, as well as his position on the Ukraine conflict has
00:23:20led to a lot of European and Canada as allies to rethink their relationship with the United
00:23:26States.
00:23:27Many have actually talked about how the trust that existed between America and Canada, as
00:23:32well as with Europe, for example, has been completely shattered by the actions of the
00:23:35Trump administration over the last two months.
00:23:38Many of them feel that the tariffs that have been levied by Donald Trump on the Canadian
00:23:44auto industry have been completely unprovoked and unjustified.
00:23:46And that's across the political aisle.
00:23:48It's become so unpopular that in fact, the Liberal Party, which is Mark Carney's party,
00:23:52was expected to be wiped out of the elections.
00:23:54Now they might actually win because they've stood up to Donald Trump and they're pushing
00:23:57back against him.
00:23:58That's how unpopular Donald Trump is at the street level in Canada.
00:24:02And Mark Carney, of course, with his statement right now, saying that the era of deep security
00:24:05ties is over, is not only signaling this anxiety among Canadians about Donald Trump
00:24:11and the relationship with America, but he's also trying to score some political points
00:24:14because he knows that he's going into an election on April 28th and he wants to win that election
00:24:18and he wants to capitalize on what is his calling card, which is anti-Trumpism, which
00:24:22has become rampant in Canada.
00:24:23Right.
00:24:24Shashank, you know, he's also called the auto tariffs unjustified and he said that they
00:24:29were in breach of the existing trade deals between the countries.
00:24:32What countermeasures do you think you can see Canada taking at this point?
00:24:35Well, Chetan, one thing to understand is that when we say the Canadian auto industry and
00:24:40the American auto industry, it's actually one almost fused auto industry.
00:24:44It's literally the North American auto industry.
00:24:46In fact, when Donald Trump first proposed his tariffs on Canada, the automotive industry
00:24:51in America was up in arms.
00:24:52They were saying that look, we're already facing so much competition from China and
00:24:56you want to basically gut our industry by making sure that we have to migrate factories
00:25:00and labor and so on from Canada to American to American soil that would take us years
00:25:05and billions of dollars and we will lose competitiveness.
00:25:07So that's where Canada is coming from by saying that these tariffs are unprovoked and unjustified.
00:25:13But yes, you're absolutely right that Canada has already spoken about inflicting economic
00:25:18pain on the United States.
00:25:20The European Union is also considered doing this.
00:25:22In fact, Donald Trump is aware of this threat and he in fact posted on Truth Social saying
00:25:26that look, if Canada and the European Union team up to post to place economic pain on
00:25:30the United States, then they will also suffer greatly.
00:25:32So you're seeing these erstwhile allies trying to talk to each other as if they were very
00:25:36much straight enemies.
00:25:37Absolutely, Shashank.
00:25:38Thank you, sir, for bringing in that perspective on the story.
00:25:41Now the Canadian PM has said that the close ties with the US, Canada, US are now over.
00:25:47We have some more breaking news coming in this time from India.
00:25:58Shiv Sena seeks removal of protected monument status to Aurangzeb's tomb.
00:26:03Maharashtra Minister Shambhuraj Desai on Thursday said ruling Shiv Sena party has asked the
00:26:08union government to remove the protected monument status to Aurangzeb's tomb at Khultabad in
00:26:14Chhatrapati Shambhaji Nagar district.
00:26:16Maharashtra minister says after the nod to lift the protected monument status, the state
00:26:20government will take action within the framework of the law.
00:26:26My colleague Vidya is joining me live on the broadcast for more details.
00:26:29Vidya, we are seeing that Shiv Sena is seeking the removal of the protected monument status
00:26:34to Aurangzeb's tomb.
00:26:35Give us more details.
00:26:36Well, this is this really comes after a petition has already been filed in the Bombay High
00:26:41Court by a petitioner, activist named Kejrin Sirodkar.
00:26:44He had filed a petition stating that, you know, there are two things that needs to be
00:26:48done.
00:26:49One, you know, the national monument status that has been declared, you know, across India,
00:26:55ASI has these national monuments across the country.
00:26:59But according to the petitioner also, and as according to the Shiv Sena also now, you
00:27:04know, the national monument status, which which makes it a place which needs to be preserved,
00:27:09that needs to be removed.
00:27:11And of course, you know what they are, because it is only of national people of national
00:27:16importance.
00:27:17So, according to the petitioner also, what he has argued in the petition is that, you
00:27:22know, someone like Aurangzeb cannot be someone who who is revered or needs to be protected
00:27:28as as someone of a national monument status.
00:27:32And in fact, like someone like Ghazni, people who are Taimur, you know, these are not the
00:27:39kind of people whose, you know, the tomb said should be preserved is what he has argued
00:27:46about it.
00:27:47And of course, also he has argued that, you know, they should be removed like like that
00:27:52of Aurangzeb, like what the Shiv Sena is also now been saying as the demand for the VHP
00:27:57and the Bajrang Dal had also come of removing that entire tomb from the Kultabad area.
00:28:02So, of course, you know, such demands have been breaking up.
00:28:05Well, it's for the first time that we have seen that the state has done something about
00:28:09it and written to the union government.
00:28:11Absolutely, Vidya.
00:28:12Thanks for bringing us those details.
00:28:14This is obviously after organizations like Bajrang Dal and VHP have demanded the removal
00:28:19of the tomb and recent escalations that took place in Nagpur over Aurangzeb's tomb.
00:28:24And now we're seeing Shiv Sena seeking removal of protected status to Aurangzeb's tomb now.
00:28:38Shifting focus now.
00:28:39Bengal chief minister was heckled at the Oxford University.
00:28:43Mamata Banerjee is in the United Kingdom and was addressing a crowd of students at the
00:28:47prestigious Oxford University.
00:28:49But amid her speech, a group of students protested against the Bengal chief minister.
00:28:53Left back SFI raised go back slogans against Mamata mid speech, prompting Mamata to retort
00:28:58with the response that she will not be bothered, but will fight like a royal Bengal tiger.
00:29:03These are the visuals that we're seeing from Oxford University.
00:29:14Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee was speaking at Kellogg College when she was heckled
00:29:18by SFI students who were raising slogans, asking Mamata to go back, asking her for proof of
00:29:24the development that she spoke of in Bengal in her speech.
00:29:28They also raked up the RG Corp rape and murder incident that took place in West Bengal.
00:29:35They are asking for Mamata for basically information about what was done when it came to the victim
00:29:41in the RG Corp rape incident.
00:29:43Suryagini, my colleague, is joining me on the broadcast with more details.
00:29:47Suryagini, we are seeing visuals of the SFI students raising protests against Bengal chief
00:29:51minister Mamata Banerjee.
00:29:52Do give us more details on the issues that were raked up by the protesters.
00:29:56Well, Chetna, very dramatic scenes unfolded last night over here.
00:30:03What we saw from Oxford University when the chief minister Mamata Banerjee was making
00:30:09her speech.
00:30:10When she was making her speech, we see students associated with the SFI, that is the Students
00:30:16Federation of India's UK wing, protesting and chanting slogans of go back when Mamata
00:30:23Banerjee was speaking.
00:30:25However, she continued the speech.
00:30:28The students over there, they were raising questions on the RG Corp incident that had
00:30:34happened in the state of West Bengal last year.
00:30:37And the slogans of go back Mamata Banerjee were heard at her.
00:30:41Now, there were other people in that particular crowd itself who were not associated with
00:30:47the SFI.
00:30:48But they were interrupting her speech on and asking of the conditions of Hindus in
00:30:55the state of West Bengal.
00:30:56So there were two groups that did try to interrupt the program that was happening at the Oxford
00:31:03University.
00:31:04However, the program continued.
00:31:05Mamata Banerjee commented, she even took out a poster of her when she was badly injured
00:31:13in one of the protest rallies of the early 90s, completely in a bandage.
00:31:20And she told the audience over there that look how she was tried to be killed when she
00:31:27was an opposition leader.
00:31:29Amidst all of this, what we saw was the speech did continue and even a question answer round
00:31:36by the Kellogg College continued.
00:31:40And that ended very peacefully.
00:31:43But yes, interruption did happen, wherein, you know, both a group questioning on the
00:31:51condition of Hindus in the state of West Bengal.
00:31:53And secondly, on the issue of RG Corp, SFI students or SFI's UK wing students protested
00:32:02when Mamata Banerjee was speaking.
00:32:04Back to you.
00:32:05Absolutely, Suryagini.
00:32:06So, SFI student protesters did heckle Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during his speech
00:32:10and the program did continue.
00:32:12We have some more breaking news coming in.
00:32:14Suryagini, do stay with us.
00:32:15I'll be coming back to you.
00:32:24Now, after the entire incident, BJP has slammed Mamata Banerjee after Oxford protest left
00:32:29backed SFI disrupts Mamata Banerjee's speech.
00:32:32But the BJP hits out saying Mamata a disgrace to Bengal.
00:32:35They further say that the Hindu diaspora wants her out as the Bengal chief minister.
00:32:39Now, what the BJP has said is that she's a disgrace to West Bengal.
00:32:42The Hindu Bengali diaspora wants her out as the chief minister for destroying Bengal's
00:32:46legacy and putting them through such ignominy.
00:32:53I'm going to go back to my colleague Suryagini, who continues to be live with us on the story.
00:32:56Suryagini, we are seeing the BJP now reacting to the entire incident, saying that what Mamata
00:33:02Banerjee has done, she's brought disgrace to the state of West Bengal.
00:33:06The political war of words has now broken out over the entire incident.
00:33:11As I mentioned, there were two simultaneous groups that were protesting when Mamata Banerjee
00:33:18was speaking.
00:33:18First, the SFI group that was already protesting on the issue of RGP and asking Mamata Banerjee
00:33:23to go back.
00:33:24Secondly, there were people in the audience who questioned Mamata Banerjee on the condition
00:33:30of entry in the state.
00:33:31Now, as I mentioned, chaos did fall over there.
00:33:37But the administration over there, the Oxford University authorities, made sure that the
00:33:42speech continues and the question-answer round continues.
00:33:45And that is how the situation was brought under control.
00:33:48These people who were protesting inside, they were asked to leave and the entire speech
00:33:54was continued.
00:33:55So that is what happened.
00:33:56And we see over here that the BJP has raked up that particular issue, wherein people
00:34:02questioned Mamata Banerjee on the condition of Hindus in the state of West Bengal.
00:34:05Back to you.
00:34:09Right, Suryagini, I'm going to be coming back to you for more on this.
00:34:12But I have BJP's Rahul Sinha joining me on the phone line.
00:34:15Sir, good morning.
00:34:17We saw in Mamata Banerjee's speech that the SFI protesters have raked up many issues.
00:34:22What do you have to say about this protest?
00:34:25Look, the thing is, the way they have removed Tata's nano company from West Bengal, and
00:34:33after that, they are not ready to initiate any more rape.
00:34:40The situation that has become, a lot of people have been serviced by that nano company.
00:34:48And along with that, the number of ancillary companies around that area, all those companies
00:34:56have been shut down.
00:34:58Such a big loss has to be borne by West Bengal.
00:35:02Look, we did sit in Kolkata and protest it, but it's been so many days, people have not
00:35:10spoken even in foreign countries.
00:35:12The students who study abroad, they think that if they had found a way to be of service
00:35:20to us, we could have come back home.
00:35:24But Mamata Banerjee has done such a thing.
00:35:26Today, they are beating us around the bush, calling us industry, industry, industry.
00:35:30They have shown us that, but instead of being an industry, they are running away from the
00:35:36industry.
00:35:38Mamata Banerjee's foreign trip, her London trip, in that, instead of Bengal's nose being
00:35:46high, Bengal's nose was cut.
00:35:50Because even there, people called her a liar, a liar, like a slogan.
00:35:56So, it is clear from this that they have defamed Bengal's honour and respect.
00:36:03Sir, the protestors have also spoken about the RG Kaur incident, what do you have to
00:36:09say about that?
00:36:11Right, the line seems to have been disconnected with Mr. Rahul Sinha, but we will try to get
00:36:17back to him on the phone line again.
00:36:19But that is the latest that has happened.
00:36:21The BJP has reacted to the entire protest that took place at Oxford University, where
00:36:25the BJP has said that she is a disgrace to West Bengal.
00:36:33There is a BJP vs TMC face-off over infiltrators in West Bengal.
00:36:37Accusing the Trinamool Congress-led government in West Bengal of not taking stern action
00:36:41against illegal infiltration, Shah said the 450km of fencing work on the India-Bangladesh
00:36:47border was pending as the West Bengal government did not give land for it.
00:36:51The Home Minister said the fencing work remained pending despite the central government
00:36:55writing 11 letters to the West Bengal government and holding 7 rounds of talks with state
00:36:59officials on the issue.
00:37:01He also accused the TMC government of providing fake Aadhar cards to the infiltrators.
00:37:05The TMC hit back at Union Home Minister Amit Shah for maligning Bengal's image.
00:37:09They also claimed that Home Minister Shah failed to protect the borders and now they
00:37:13are hiding their failures by blaming TMC.
00:37:31It is clear that the Mamata government is responsible for this, the West Bengal government
00:37:35is responsible for this.
00:37:37The day the government of the BJP will be formed in West Bengal, the infiltration will
00:37:41stop.
00:37:43It means that to stop illegal infiltrators, Bangladeshis and Rohingyas, we will immediately
00:37:47work on the fencing work on the 450km border which is still open for the protection of
00:37:51our borders.
00:38:01If the Rajasthan government will do such work on the 450km border, they will not provide
00:38:05land for it.
00:38:07The government has made fencing work in other places.
00:38:09It is necessary for the government to help in the fencing work here as well.
00:38:13The Home Minister has clearly stated this.
00:38:15Who is providing protection to the infiltrators?
00:38:17Who is making ration cards for them?
00:38:19Who is making voting cards for them?
00:38:21The Home Minister has revealed the reality of all these things.
00:38:25The Home Minister has revealed the reality of all these things.
00:38:29If they have any shame, then to stop the infiltrators, they should help the government
00:38:33and follow the instructions given by the Home Minister.
00:38:43Today, on the basis of facts, the whole of India has been told the truth through the
00:38:50transportation to the Indian borders.
00:38:54They have told the truth by providing land for the 450km border.
00:38:58The Home Minister of India has met 7 of the experts who are still working here, but the
00:39:02Bengal government hasn't given any land yet.
00:39:06It is clear that the fencing work has been done with the help of the Bengal government
00:39:12voluntarily.
00:39:13It has been done with the help of the Bangladeshis and Rohingyas.
00:39:17They were made to work with a lot of effort.
00:39:20The bill which is being discussed in the parliament and very soon it will be enacted also.
00:39:26Immigration Bill, important legislation I mean that needed to be in place because
00:39:32Four laws, the other two were there for the same, this thing, only careers liability
00:39:38that which came into being in 2000.
00:39:42Otherwise, all three were pre-independence laws and many of the provisions in the laws,
00:39:51what four laws were there, overlapping each other.
00:39:56My colleague Piyush Mishra is joining me live on the broadcast from Delhi.
00:39:59Piyush, we're seeing that the BJP and the TMC are facing off over the issue of infiltrators
00:40:03in West Bengal, with the Home Minister saying that the fencing work on the Indo-Bangladesh
00:40:07border is pending because of West Bengal government's lack of provision of land.
00:40:12What can you tell us about that?
00:40:13Well, that's right.
00:40:14A huge allegation which has been made by Home Minister Amit Shah, where he has said that
00:40:19there's a border area of at least 450 km where fencing is not completed and it has happened
00:40:26because the TMC government is not providing the land there.
00:40:30At the same time, he has said that whenever the central government has a right to fence
00:40:34the entire area, hooliganism takes place, slogans take place, whatever situation happens
00:40:41and that is why the fencing has not happened and because of that, the legal infiltration
00:40:46is now taking place.
00:40:48At the same time, yesterday while speaking in Lok Sabha on this specific bill, Home Minister
00:40:53Amit Shah also said that maximum infiltrators in country have their Aadhaar card registered
00:41:00on the addresses, those are on North 24th Palghara in West Bengal.
00:41:05So, these are two big allegations that have been levelled by Home Minister Amit Shah and
00:41:09he has also said that through this bill, the country is going to have better economy, the
00:41:15security problem will be solved.
00:41:16He has also said that illegal infiltrators will be dealt severely, but at the same time,
00:41:21he is also stressing upon the fact that the government welcomes the people who want to
00:41:27come to India via legal route for educational purpose, for tourism purpose or for any other
00:41:32purpose, but illegal infiltrators will not be allowed and actions will be taken.
00:41:38At the same time, it is also important to highlight that TMC has reacted back to all
00:41:41the allegations that have been made by Home Minister Amit Shah, where TMC has said that
00:41:45these are baseless and fake allegations and we will have to wait and watch how this entire
00:41:49thing is further going to escalate as a huge allegation and huge showdown we have seen
00:41:53in parliament on this entire thing.
00:41:55Absolutely, Piyush.
00:41:56With Home Minister Shah amping up his attack against the TMC, saying that the TMC is responsible
00:42:01behind the infiltrators in Bengal.
00:42:03Piyush, do stay with us.
00:42:04I will be coming back to you for more on this.
00:42:06Now, the new immigration bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha.
00:42:09The bill was tabled by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who claimed that the proposed legislation
00:42:13would strengthen the country's security, boost the economy and business and besides, encouraging
00:42:18the health and education sectors.
00:42:20Union Home Minister Amit Shah added that there were some people who wanted to enter India
00:42:23and create unrest, stressing that the country was not a dharamshala and such individuals
00:42:28would be strongly dealt with.
00:42:30Meanwhile, the opposition MPs raised concerns over the Immigration and Foreigners Bill 2025,
00:42:35claiming that certain provisions grant arbitrary powers to immigration authorities.
00:42:39They urged the centre to send the bill to a joint parliamentary committee for detailed
00:42:42scrutiny.
00:42:44If you ask me, you know the need for this bill, Rohingya, Bangladeshi, who have come
00:42:50illegally.
00:42:51This bill has been brought to stop them and the documents will be scrutinised in a very
00:42:57strict manner and those who violate the rules will definitely be subjected to strict action
00:43:03against them.
00:43:04When we went there, people at the border said that as soon as a Bangladeshi comes,
00:43:10he will get a hot Aadhaar card from the Trinamool party.
00:43:16He will get a voter card and Mamata didi has made them her vote bank.
00:43:23This bill will ensure India's security, independence and integrity.
00:43:36Once this bill is passed, they will not be able to come back.
00:43:41All the people who were encouraging this bill, making all the documents, will also go back.
00:43:50PM Modi says that scrutiny is the soul of democracy.
00:43:55But we don't see any environment of scrutiny in the centre.
00:43:59We don't see the ability of the government to listen to criticism.
00:44:14Unfortunately, there was no satisfactory answer from the Home Minister.
00:44:19The bill has many infirmities.
00:44:22It impinges upon civil liberties.
00:44:25There's a lack of equilibrium in the bill.
00:44:27It would have been much better that it should have been referred to a joint parliamentary committee.
00:44:32My colleague Piyush Mishra continues to be with us on the story.
00:44:36Piyush, for our viewers understanding, what really are the provisions of the immigration bill?
00:44:40And what issues does the opposition have?
00:44:42Because they said that the bill will give arbitrary powers to immigration authorities.
00:44:46Well, that's right.
00:44:49There are apprehensions of opposition political parties on this entire proposal which the
00:44:53government has come up with.
00:44:54I remember that yesterday when the bill was tabled, there were various opposition political
00:44:58parties that opposed this.
00:45:00At the same time, the BJP had gone on to say that it's going to give a lot of security
00:45:05to the people and also going to deal with the infiltrators.
00:45:10I remember that Home Minister Amit Shah has also made it very clear that the government
00:45:15is not going to tolerate the illegal immigration at any cost.
00:45:19He has also said that through this bill, the country's economy will be boosted and
00:45:24a lot of problems, internal problems, a lot of situations could be dealt with.
00:45:28But the opposition is not happy with all these things.
00:45:31You would remember that yesterday Home Minister Amit Shah had also pointed out a very important
00:45:35fact that earlier the illegal infiltration used to take place from the borders of Assam
00:45:40and other states where BJP did not have its government.
00:45:43But now the illegal immigration is taking place from the borders connected with West
00:45:49Bengal and those are there at West Bengal-Bangladesh side.
00:45:53And that is why the illegal infiltration is now taking place.
00:45:57To deal with all these problems and to have a better situation and give proper visa to
00:46:05people who want to travel out of country and also people who want to come to India for
00:46:10other purposes via legal manner, this bill has been brought up.
00:46:13We have to wait and watch how the politics is further going to split on this entire bill
00:46:19which the government has come up with.
00:46:22Thank you for bringing us those details on that story.

00:48:10Good morning Sunilji.
00:48:12First of all we are hearing that three Jammu and Kashmir cops were killed in action
00:48:16and three other security personnel have been injured.
00:48:19What is the status of the three security personnel who were injured
00:48:22and there are two terrorists that were eliminated.
00:48:25How many more are still in the hiding?
00:48:29As per our sources in the security establishment
00:48:33three more terrorists are hiding in the forest area.
00:48:36The counter-terror operations have resumed in Jathana area of Kathua district.
00:48:43The terrain remains a challenge.
00:48:45This entire stretch is surrounded by dense vegetation and mountains
00:48:50so it becomes difficult to carry out counter-terror operations in areas like these
00:48:55but our security forces are on their job.
00:48:58They are trying their level best to neutralize the remaining terrorists
00:49:02who are hiding in the forest area.

00:49:28They are receiving treatment at the hospital
00:49:31but more troops are being sent to the operation area
00:49:36and the priority is to neutralize the remaining terrorists as soon as possible.
00:49:41Thanks Sunidhi for bringing us those details on that story.
00:49:44More forces are now being sent to Kathua district
00:49:46to aid in the counter-terror operations that are currently taking place in the district.
00:49:51Shifting focus now.
00:49:54There is a storm over comedian Kunal Kamra that is continually intensifying.
00:49:58Shiv Sena leader Rahul Kanal has formally requested Mumbai police
00:50:02to take action against stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra
00:50:04citing concerns over his allegedly defamatory content on Kamra's social media pages.
00:50:09He even submitted both hard and soft copies of his complaint to Khar police station
00:50:13urging authorities to intervene.
00:50:16According to Kanal, Kamra has been persistently making remarks about high-ranking political leaders
00:50:21including Prime Minister Modi and labelled this act as offensive and inappropriate.
00:50:25Meanwhile, Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray claimed that Kamra's song is now a new hit song
00:50:31and the only good thing about ongoing Maharashtra assembly session was Kunal Kamra's song on Eknath Shinde.
00:50:36Even other opposition parties like Congress and NCPSP backed Kamra
00:50:40and asked if Mahayati government is afraid of a comedian now.
00:51:11When Yogi Adityanathji himself or union ministers themselves
00:51:18abuse their power and call for riots
00:51:26that is not abuse of power and abuse of freedom of speech
00:51:30first let them answer their question.
00:51:33You are afraid of a stand-up comedian?
00:51:36It is so unfortunate that the most powerful government in the history of India is afraid of stand-ups.
00:52:06The people of Maharashtra will not let you roam around.
00:52:22Don't compare Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Kunal Kamra.
00:52:34What does Kunal Kamra think of himself?
00:52:37Shiv Sainik will give him prasad.
00:52:41We don't know what the law will do today.
00:52:44We don't know if it will come in front of the police today or tomorrow.
00:52:48But it cannot stay hidden inside the house.
00:52:52Shiv Sainik will definitely give him prasad.
00:52:55He definitely wrote a complaint against Eknath Sindeji.
00:53:00He definitely wrote a complaint against Eknath Sindeji.
00:53:05He definitely wrote a complaint against Eknath Sindeji.
00:53:11But Kamra should understand that
00:53:15the people of Maharashtra have the right to vote.
00:53:19The people of Maharashtra have the right to vote.
00:53:45The people of Maharashtra have the right to vote.
00:54:15The people of Maharashtra have the right to vote.
00:54:19The people of Maharashtra have the right to vote.
00:54:22The people of Maharashtra have the right to vote.
00:54:25The people of Maharashtra have the right to vote.
00:54:28The people of Maharashtra have the right to vote.
00:54:31The people of Maharashtra have the right to vote.
00:54:34The people of Maharashtra have the right to vote.
00:54:37The people of Maharashtra have the right to vote.
00:54:41The security arrangement for the mosque is under way.
00:54:47Police officers are patrolling the mosque.
00:54:53Police officers are patrolling the mosque.
00:54:59Police officers are patrolling the mosque.
00:55:06This is the Jama Masjid on the upper side, and right in this area, you can see the arrangements of the police here.
00:55:15The police officers with the heavy police force are on the roads right now, so the police arrangements are ongoing.
00:55:20Sir, what are the arrangements? How many police forces are there?
00:55:23There is a police force here.
00:55:25Tomorrow is the Friday prayer.
00:55:27And during the Friday prayer, the police will be present around the Jama Masjid.
00:55:33And the security system is in place.
00:55:35Civil Police, PSC, RRF will be stationed here.
00:55:39Also, the drone and CCTV will be maintained.
00:55:41There will be no disturbance anywhere.
00:55:43This is the additional SP Shrichand, who says that the security arrangements in this area are being tightened.
00:55:49And see how the police duty is being checked here.
00:55:52The police officers are continuously walking around this area.
00:55:56Tomorrow is the Friday prayer.
00:55:58And the alertness regarding that has been greatly increased.
00:56:01And the police officers are continuously on the roads.
00:56:04The heavy police force, rapid reaction force and PSC officers are continuously walking around Sambhal.
00:56:09Abhinav Mathur, Sambhal.
00:56:34So we will get you that reaction in just a bit.
00:56:42But Congress MP Imran Masood has accused the BJP of targeting Sambhal.
00:56:46He said there is no dispute between the people of Sambhal.
00:56:49Asked why can't Nawaz and Navratri be observed together.
00:56:52Let's listen in to what the Congress MP has said.
00:56:54They have targeted Sambhal.
00:56:57There is no enmity between the people of Sambhal and the women's chain.
00:57:01There is no fight in Sambhal.
00:57:04But they are trying to target Sambhal.
00:57:07I don't understand why can't Nawaz and Navratri be observed together.
00:57:10Why can't they be observed?
00:57:12Haven't they been observed before?
00:57:13They have been observed for centuries.
00:57:14Is it the first time today?
00:57:16They are doing it as if Holi is coming for the first time,
00:57:18Navratri is coming for the first time,
00:57:19Eid is coming for the first time.
00:57:20It's not like that.
00:57:21This hatred is somewhere to save their power.
00:57:25I don't see anything else other than this.
00:57:27My colleague Piyush Mishra is joining me in the broadcast with more details.
00:57:30Piyush, we are now seeing Congress MP Imran Masood
00:57:33accusing the BJP of targeting Sambhal,
00:57:35of communal violence,
00:57:36saying that there is no dispute between the people of Sambhal.
00:57:39He has further asked why can't Nawaz and Navratri be observed together
00:57:42because that's what's been happening over the years.
00:57:47That's right, Chetna.
00:57:48We are now seeing how Congress MP Imran Masood,
00:57:50who is known for making controversial statements,
00:57:53is now coming out and saying that BJP has made Sambhal a laboratory
00:57:59where they are doing different experiments.
00:58:01He is also saying that people do not want hatred
00:58:04but it's BJP which is creating hatred.
00:58:07He has also alleged, basically,
00:58:10that the party workers are busy creating hatred
00:58:15among the people from different religious communities.
00:58:19On this big statement, as of now,
00:58:21the BJP has not reacted,
00:58:22but it is going to suddenly start a controversy
00:58:25where BJP is going to target them.
00:58:29Imran Masood, in the last few days,
00:58:31we have seen how various controversies have come out from Sambhal
00:58:34whether it's about the riots that took place
00:58:38or about different things.
00:58:40So, they are now coming out after digging deep there in Sambhal.
00:58:45So, the opposition, be it about Congress or some other party,
00:58:48they are attacking BJP for creating unrest there in Sambhal of Uttar Pradesh.
00:58:54Right, Piyush, thank you for bringing us those details on that story.
00:58:56Congress MP Imran Masood now having spoken on the issue
00:58:59saying that there is no dispute between the people of Sambhal
00:59:01and that the BJP is trying to spread hatred just to save power.

01:00:41Even the AIADMK, which is in alliance talks with the BJP,
01:00:45backed the resolution.
01:00:47The BJP walked out of the Assembly
01:00:49when the resolution was put to vote.
01:01:07Many opposition parties have thrown their weight
01:01:09behind the protests being held
01:01:11by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board.
01:01:16RJD leaders Lalu Yadav and Tejasvi Yadav
01:01:19attended the protest held by the Muslim body in Patna on Wednesday.
01:01:40The BJP called the protests an act of blackmail.

01:04:14Karnataka Government Hikes Milk Prices Again
01:04:20Karnataka Government hikes milk prices again.
01:04:24The decision follows ongoing demands from farmers
01:04:28and the Karnataka Milk Federation
01:04:30for a price increase to offset rising expenses.
01:04:34While the initial demand from the Karnataka Milk Federation
01:04:38was for a Rs. 5 per litre increase,
01:04:41the Siddharamaya Government has decided
01:04:43to raise milk prices by Rs. 4 per litre.
01:04:49The KMF has welcomed the move,
01:04:51but consumers are expected to bear the brunt of the price hike.
01:04:55In the country, there are so many unions.
01:04:58In every union, we sell milk at Rs. 50 per 2, Rs. 50 per 4, Rs. 50 per 6.
01:05:04In Karnataka, we sell milk at a very low rate, at Rs. 42.
01:05:09Farmers are at a loss.
01:05:11We have taken this decision to help the farmers.
01:05:14We are giving Rs. 4 to the farmers.
01:05:16The present Congress government has derailed
01:05:19the entire economical situation of the state.
01:05:24This is how they are trying to play with the common people,
01:05:27which has impacted the state treasury and also the common man's life.
01:05:33This isn't the first time milk prices are being raised in Karnataka.
01:05:38In August 2023, milk price was hiked by Rs. 3.
01:05:42In June 2024, by another Rs. 2.
01:05:46And now in 2025, milk prices are set to rise by Rs. 4,
01:05:51effective from April 1.
01:05:55Apart from milk, several other price hikes have burdened Karnataka citizens.
01:06:01In February 2024, stamp duty charges hiked by 200-500%.
01:06:07March 2024, lifetime tax on electric vehicles priced above Rs. 25 lakh increased.

01:06:29In February 2025, 50% hike on Bengaluru metro fares.
01:06:34And in March, power tariffs were hiked by Rs. 36 per unit.
01:06:39The recent milk price hike has sparked political tension in Karnataka,
01:06:44with the BJP criticising the Congress-led state government.
01:06:49They are talking about 5 guarantees.
01:06:51Along with 5 guarantees, the Congress party is also spitting out 5 additional guarantees.
01:06:58The Congress party is doing the wrong thing.
01:07:02If someone is pulling the strings, it is the Congress party.
01:07:09The state government has defended its decision.
01:07:14As the final decision is being weighed,
01:07:16the Karnataka government faces the challenge of balancing consumer affordability
01:07:21with ensuring fair compensation for farmers.
01:07:25Bureau report, India Today.
