TWO TO ONE Movie Trailer HD - Plot synopsis: German A-lister Sandra Hüller stars in this light-hearted ensemble comedy about friendship, community, love and capitalism.
Natja Brunckhorst’s Two To One is set in the long, hot East German summer of 1990. Maren (Oscar nominee Sandra Hüller), Robert (Max Riemelt – Berlin Syndrome) and Volker (Ronald Zehrfeld – Phoenix) have known and loved each other since childhood. In the final weeks before reunification and with Germany about to change forever, the trio stumble across a fortune in soon-to-be-worthless East German currency, left to rot in Government storage.
With just days to work out what to do with this unexpected windfall before it becomes useless, the three assemble the friends and neighbours living in their crumbling apartment block and together hatch an elaborate plan to exchange the cash for goods – outwitting the incoming Westerners and their capitalism before time runs out.
But can a community previously living under strict socialist values handle this sudden wealth…?

00:00I'm supposed to wear something black and is it legal what we have in front of us?
00:09What is legal and what is illegal is currently dependent on the viewer anyway.
00:15This is our former money since yesterday.
00:21We are allowed to...
00:22This is toilet paper.
00:30What do you think, how much is that?
00:32A few million.
00:34Good day, Mr. Jarrezer.
00:36I just want to show you something very interesting.
00:38Unfortunately, we only have a lot of cash. I'm really sorry.
00:40Yes, 127, I'll take your money.
00:43You can still pay until Friday.
00:46So three more days.
00:47So we're talking about money, what you've found and what belongs to the state.
00:51And because it belongs to the state and we are a people's economy, it belongs to the people.
00:55And since we are the people, it belongs to us.
01:00Each of you will now get money and buy as much as you can until the Vessels are gone.
01:04We're betting on the last minute.
01:07Hey guys, we want to do this together.
01:11Who owns the toilet paper?
01:12Who owns the stuff?
01:13Stop!
01:17So, we've come up with something. We'll buy our VEB.
01:22There are no 200s.
01:23Never spent.
01:24They were printed so that we are liquid when we take over the BRD.
01:31All those years have been shit.
01:33But you've always known that.
01:35Yes, but I hoped it would be different.
01:39200s?
01:40Doesn't exist.
01:41Shit.
01:42If you find someone who's messing around with paint cans, that's destruction of state property.
01:45What's the socialistic property of the people?
01:48No, now it's state property, I think.
02:01We're not criminals.
02:03We just want justice.
02:05Now we've ruined socialism.
02:07And now it's time for capitalism.
02:12Capitalism has us.
02:14You could also call it free market economy.
02:16But it's the same.
02:19That's true.
