A start-up in Kanpur has found a way to reuse flowers discarded by temples.
Transcript
00:00Every year, we Indians put in about 8 million tonnes of flowers in the Ganges.
00:22All the pesticides and insecticides that were used to grow these flowers mixes with the
00:26river water, making it highly toxic, which is one of the leading causes of Hepatitis
00:31Cholera across India and Bangladesh, affecting lives of more than 420 million people.
00:36Ultimately, these pesticides mix with the groundwater, causing irreversible damage.
01:26We came up with a unique packaging, where we infused the packaging material with seeds.
01:52For example, Tulsi seeds or Holi basil.
01:55So the concept was, once you've used this product, simply sow the packaging and a Tulsi
01:59plant would grow out of it.
