00:30The embassy gates were closed, and we, like the frightened Vietnamese and their families,
00:44had to fight and claw our way up.
00:47And we did claw, and we did fight.
00:50The Taliban is not the North Vietnamese Army.
00:54There's going to be no circumstance where you're going to see people being lifted off
00:57the roof of an embassy of the United States from Afghanistan.
01:27I would like to say to my fellow citizens of Kabul, that my family and I are here with
01:42you.
01:43We are here with you, and we hope that the issues of our country, and our rule, can be
01:50resolved through peace and negotiations.
01:52We ask the security forces, and the Taliban, wherever they are, to keep the safety of the
01:59lives of the people, and to pay attention to the safety of the lives of the people.
02:44As I said in April, the United States did what we went to do in Afghanistan, to get
02:50the terrorists who attacked us on 9-11, and deliver justice to Osama bin Laden.
