00:09I did not think I would see a day where someone with the highest security clearance is using
00:13a phone messaging app to treat matters of national security with such blatant disregard,
00:21celebrating with emojis in a group chat as they unlawfully authorize military actions.
00:26I struggle to find a reference point.
00:30This administration continues to make history for all the wrong reasons.
00:36This is beyond the pale.
00:38The disregard for human life, the disregard for national security, let me just make this
00:42abundantly clear to the American people.
00:45Secure channels of communication do exist to discuss classified military action.
00:51They're sure as hell are not a signal group chat.
00:55In an administration like this, it is imperative that it be handled with sensitivity.
00:59Under this administration, the United States foreign policy is a failure.
01:04Decades of diplomatic efforts to build goodwill and keep the American people safe have been
01:08upended.
01:10We have an unelected billionaire gutting lifesaving programs like USAID's essential work to feed
01:15newborns and to get medicine to war zones.
01:20And meanwhile, you have a cast of characters in these roles having nothing to do with merit
01:26but simply their fealty and loyalty to Donald Trump, a cast of characters ordering military
01:33strikes in a group chat with a random journalist in it.
01:38This is nothing to be cavalier about.
01:40This is not a drill.
01:41It is not a joke.
01:42And every person involved should be investigated by Congress.
01:45In particular, Pete Hegseth is proving himself to be grossly unqualified to lead the Department
01:50of Defense and should have never been confirmed by the Senate.
01:54This national security failure is proof that he cannot serve this country's best interest
01:59and I call for Pete Hegseth to resign.
