00:00Hello everybody, how's it going? Now if you think back to the start of the year when I first started
00:04doing these videos for Newcastle World, it was miserable wasn't it? Christmas had just passed,
00:09everybody was on a bit of a bummer at the start of January, it was miserable, I was taken out in
00:14the rain, I was tucked up in my parka jacket, freezing, tired of it Newcastle, but look where
00:19now, how times have changed. I mean I had a bright orange t-shirt, glorious sunshine, and to be
00:24truthful it's been nice ever since Newcastle won the cup. I wonder if more than one curse
00:29had been broken that day just over 10 days ago now. In terms of Newcastle United, well there's
00:35not much to talk about other than the parade. Obviously they haven't played since beating
00:38Liverpool in the cup final and it's all been going on in the background in terms of the
00:43trophy parade celebrations, big celebrations kicking off on Saturday this weekend with the
00:47bus parade and then a big event in the town where there's expected to be a couple of hundred
00:52thousand Newcastle fans that are going to show up. There'll be grannies, there'll be babies,
00:56there'll be chauvas, there'll be goths, there'll be every type of Newcastle United fan imaginable
01:03will be there on Saturday no doubt to cheer on the team after the Wunderkaubau cup final,
01:07and rightly so as well, celebrate and take it in because it's been far too lagged. On the
01:12international break itself and what a signal for Joe Linton last night, on a high from the cup final,
01:16played last week as a substitute, was given the starting role against Argentina last night and
01:21you know how much that game means to Brazil. Brazil and Argentina, one of the most fabled
01:25rivalries in world football and they got humped 4-1. A bit of a bit of a liberty for Joe Linton
01:32after the high of the cup final to come crashing down the earth with a 4-1 defeat to Argentina
01:38last night. He got sort of caned in the South American press, I think one outlet gave him a
01:42three out of ten. We've run a story on it today on Newcastle World and yeah I mean just thinking
01:48back to the trophy parade on Saturday, I bet you he can't wait to get on that bus, get back in good
01:52spirits after what was a pretty miserable night for him last night. Now somebody who did enjoy a
01:57good night last night, you'll be surprised to know is Alexander Isak. In fact you may as well just
02:02make this Alexander Isak's year because he really is having the time of it at the minute isn't he,
02:07after being the goal hero in the Carabao cup final, taking his tally to 23rd of the season,
02:12he went to Sweden on the international break. If anyone's seen the highlights, if anyone hasn't
02:15seen the highlights, check them out against Northern Ireland last night, absolutely battered
02:20Alexander Isak for the first goal, it's his composure, he gets the ball on the left flank,
02:25shimmies in and time, as chaos is flying all around him, time almost stops still for Isak,
02:32you see that ice cold composure, skips past a couple of defenders, slots are passing, Sweden
02:37go 1-0 up and then the coasting, score a couple more goals then Alexander Isak decides to get in
02:42on the act himself, drives forward from the halfway line and just picks out the top corner
02:48from just outside the penalty area, pure class and it's something Newcastle United fans have seen
02:53since the moment he joined the club, his debut against Liverpool was sensational,
02:57it had me thinking look I'm 28 next week, I'm kicking on a bit, a few grey hairs on the beard,
03:03but Alexander Isak for me is the best player that I've ever seen play for Newcastle United,
03:08born in 1997, one year after Alan Shearer joined the club, I was nine years old when Alan Shearer
03:13left, so only really caught the back end of him and truth be told he was probably in
03:19them early Newcastle days and at his time at Blackburn, so for me Alexander Isak's the best
03:24player I've seen play for Newcastle United, he's got everything, I mean the unravelled comparisons
03:29were there on day one, he's an all-round better football player than Shearer anyways, I know that
03:35might be a controversial take, Shearer was a beast, a player very much of his time, you know he gets
03:40stuck in, he could score ahead on left foot, right foot, could bully a defender, but Alexander
03:45Isak man he's just classy, he's just got the touch, he's got the gail, he's got everything,
03:51he's got the skill, he's got the finish, he's just cool as ice, I mean Bruno Guimaraes probably
03:59does typify the takeover and the fact that he was here from the first transfer window
04:03and he did really buy into the club, Bruno Guimaraes brings that passion doesn't he,
04:07but Alexander Isak is just the ice-cold killer at Newcastle United right now, hey if Callum
04:13Wilson you know he's coming to the twilight of his career, if he were to leave the club this summer
04:19I think he's got to take that number nine shirt, Alexander Isak, you've already put yourself
04:24among the legends, you are a legend now after winning the Cowboy Cup, take that legendary
04:30shirt number, the number nine shirt, Jackie Milburn, Alan Seaworth, super back, even modern day
04:36I know he's not a legend but Andy Cole have been some great goalscorers who've worn that shirt and
04:40Alexander Isak has every single right, if he wants it, I know he hasn't said he wants it, I know he
04:46said he likes the number 40 and I wonder if he was being a little bit diplomatic there with Callum
04:50Wilson still having this shirt, but if that shirt becomes available Callum Wilson, Alexander Isak
04:56needs to take it with both hands, from me today everybody as always stay tuned to Newcastle World
05:02we'll be giving you full coverage of every nook and cranny, every detail, everything there is to
05:06talk about when it comes to Newcastle United including the trophy parade on Saturday, let's
05:12hope for some blue skies later today and make it a day that nobody will ever want to forget, I'll
05:17catch you later.
