00:00We're going to get up Congressman Chris DeLuzo.
00:03Thanks.
00:04Sorry about that.
00:04It's all right, thanks.
00:06It's an honor to join these great colleagues of mine,
00:09all of us who wore the uniform in different ways
00:11and different times.
00:12I was a Naval officer.
00:13I served at sea and on the ground in Iraq.
00:16What we saw from this administration was reckless.
00:19It was a dangerous breach of our national security.
00:21It was probably criminal conduct.
00:23There has to be consequences.
00:24This included the Vice President of the United States,
00:26the Director of the CIA, the Secretary of Defense,
00:29the National Security Advisor, the Secretary of State.
00:31I could go on and on.
00:33These are some of the most powerful people in America.
00:35If any of us had done this as junior enlisted or junior
00:38officers, what do you think would have happened?
00:40We'd be court-martialed.
00:42You'd likely end up in Fort Leavenworth or something
00:44like it.
00:46And to these people, to think that they may not face
00:48consequences is outrageous.
00:51Cannot happen.
00:53Now, we know Secretary of Excel's own Pentagon
00:57warned just last week that there
00:59were hacking vulnerabilities to Sigma, the very platform
01:02they were communicating on.
01:04Communicating about, you heard it here,
01:06sensitive, classified material.
01:10There is no defense for this.
01:12And so what we are saying here is something obvious.
01:14There has to be accountability.
01:16There needs to be a full investigation.
01:18And again, there are likely violations of the Espionage
01:20Act.
01:21There are likely violations of record-keeping requirements.
01:24They were communicating in a platform
01:26that purposefully deletes their communications.
01:29That is a violation of federal law.
01:31They're obscuring and hiding records from the American
01:33people.
01:35They were putting at risk service members
01:37who were carrying out these strikes.
01:40Now, I've said hence should roll.
01:42There have to be people who lose their jobs over this.
01:44There has to be a full investigation.
01:46I serve on the Armed Services Committee
01:48and join the calls that there is a full public accounting
01:50for what happened here.
01:52And when we uncover exactly who committed wrongdoing,
01:55if those folks don't resign, we should remove them from office.
01:58There can be no defense for this.
01:59They put our national security at risk.
02:02It is our duty in Congress to make sure that oversight
02:04happens.
02:04And I know these members and I will do everything
02:06we can to make sure it happens.
02:08So with that, I'm honored to introduce
02:09a fellow Pennsylvania veteran, Congressman Leland.
