00:00One thing I know for sure is that complaining is not a strategy.
00:05You've got to deal with the world as it is and move forward.
00:30You've got to deal with the world as it is and move forward.
01:00The
01:22wake-up call was finding this startling statistic that web usage in the spring of 1994 was growing
01:29at 2300% a year.
01:59We've been asked thousands of times, when will Amazon.com be profitable?
02:06We've always declined to answer the question because we didn't have enough visibility and confidence.
02:11And we're finally answering that question now.
02:13We're predicting that that'll happen in the fourth quarter of this year.
02:29The number of journalists in the United States has declined by about a third over the last decade or so because of this economic problem.
02:51I think that there are a lot of reporters and editors at the Washington Post who are breathing much more easily today than they were yesterday.
02:59There are so many resources there that we can continue to do interesting things and continue to use large amounts of energy and so on.
03:14It's just that we probably can't do that on this planet.
03:16Earth will end up being zoned residential and light industry.
03:20And all the heavy industry will be done in space.
03:50They always try to get close to all the limits, which we've already had to impose a complaint because of day-to-day processes, etc.
04:20So it's my understanding that Jeff Bezos and his wife Mackenzie do not have a prenuptial agreement.
04:40And what that means is they have approximately $140 billion in assets that are going to have to be divided through the course of the divorce proceeding.
05:11It turns out that as you increase the speed of delivery, you have less carbon.
05:18That is counterintuitive.
05:41So let me ask you, Mr. Bezos, does Amazon ever access and use third-party seller data when making business decisions?
05:49And just a yes or no will suffice, sir.
05:51I can't answer that question, yes or no.
05:53What I can tell you is we have a policy against using seller-specific data to aid our private label business.
06:00But I can't guarantee you that that policy has never been violated.
06:10I'd like to have higher pay wages, hazard pay, child care, free health care, $30 an hour minimum wage, and a wealth tax that could provide for unemployment, provide for families that's in need, and provide financially for all essential workers all across the nation.
