00:28It can repel mosquitoes up to six hours, like when you use it for bathing.
00:33When you use it for washing down clothes, the repellent components stay there, but not for a long time.

00:46This led me to miss school a lot, be in hospitals all the time, and miss most of my childhood activities like playing.
00:54And this really made my childhood sad.
00:58So I grew up with the motivation to find an intervention to add on a mosquito net to prevent malaria,
01:04because I used to sleep in mosquito nets every day but still suffered from malaria.

01:16They are the ones who are faced with the problem of malaria a lot.
01:20But the soap is working for them. It's better than what they were using.
01:24It's better than using nothing, just using mosquito nets.

01:35Every week we carry out an awareness campaign through different hospitals where we talk about malaria,
01:41the causes, and most importantly the most natural ways of preventing it,
01:46like clearing bushes, clearing water holes.
01:50So we give this information that mothers do not know.

02:01We also target hotels and resorts and tourist looking for a natural way of preventing mosquito bites.
02:08And we sell our product to this other market at a really high price,
02:12so that we can cross-finance for the mothers who cannot afford the product.
02:15And then we sell our soap to them at the same price as they buy a regular soap.

02:27We found out that our repellent component is more effective in lotions.
02:32For the mothers, we plan to keep making the soap for them.
02:36And for the tourists, we plan to make lotions, we plan to make sprays,
02:39so that we can subsidize more products and also make repellent components more effective.
