01:27I rise today to discharge a large one in my life, for it was 25 years ago, as young men
01:33at Hanover College, that then the student John Gable, more than anyone else, challenged
01:38me to take seriously the claims of Christ.
01:41I'll never forget the day, Mr. Speaker, that young John Gable said to me, remember, Mike,
01:45you've got to wear it in your heart before you wear it around your neck.
02:08You know, growing up, I actually started in politics in the other party, until I heard
02:13the voice and the ideals of the 40th President, and I signed on for the Reagan Revolution.
02:35But the best thing that ever happened to me, even counting tonight, is that 31 years ago,
02:43I married the girl of my dreams, a schoolteacher, an artist.
02:47She is everything to me.

04:14I believe that God created the known universe, the earth and everything in it, including
04:19man.
04:20And I also believe that someday, scientists will come to see that only the theory of intelligent
04:25design provides even a remotely rational explanation for the known universe.
04:32But until that day comes, and I have no fear of science, I believe that the more we study
04:38the science, the more the truths of faith will become apparent.
04:41I just would humbly ask, as new theories of evolution find their ways into the newspapers
04:47and into the textbooks, let us demand that educators around America teach evolution not
04:54as fact, but as theory.

07:51stands for a stronger America, a more prosperous America, and a president who I proudly say
07:58stands for the right to life, President Donald Trump.
08:25On this night in the company of heroes, I'm deeply grateful.
08:33Deeply grateful for the privilege of serving as Vice President of this great nation and
08:38to have the opportunity to serve again.
08:42I pray to be worthy of it, and I will give that duty all that's in me.
