00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has instructed the Presidential Communications Office to

00:05tackle the rise of fake news, particularly following tensions with Vice President Sara

00:10Duterte.

00:11In a recent briefing, PCO Undersecretary Attorney Claire Castro addressed several rumors, including

00:16one involving the First Lady, and clarified the government's stance on the ICC and new

00:21international agreements.

00:29President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered ANU, the Presidential Communications Office,

00:34to combat fake news, which has rapidly proliferated since the clash between the Chief Executive

00:39and Vice President Sara Duterte erupted, according to PCO Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer

00:45Attorney Claire Castro.

00:47There are instances when the President himself notices fake news and is somehow affected

00:53by it.

00:54Palace then called the rumor that First Lady Liza Arneta Marcos got furious on the Duterte

00:59administration for not appointing her husband, Agriculture Secretary, fake news.

01:05Yusef Castro also finds it funny those who allege that some of the photos posted by the

01:11First Lady on social media are edited.

01:28Malacanang also questioned the renewed call of Attorney Harry Roque for a people power

01:33revolution.

01:35This is still in line with the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte due to crimes against

01:39humanity charges at the International Criminal Court.

01:42Yusef Castro asked that if Roque is seeking peace, why is he calling for the resignation

01:48of President Marcos Jr.?

02:09The Palace reiterated that the Philippines has no plans to rejoin the ICC amid the alleged

02:14freeze order on the properties of Duterte.

02:17According to Yusef Castro, the Marcos administration has no commitment to the ICC, which still

02:23has no jurisdiction over the country.

02:42Meanwhile, the Palace confirmed that the President gave a thumbs up on the commencement

03:05of the negotiations for the proposed Visiting Forces Agreement between the Philippines and

03:10France.

03:11The BFA, according to Yusef Castro, will push for the operational compatibility of the armed

03:17forces of both sides, in addition to the exchange of ideas, skills, and other military matters.

03:24Aside from France, the Palace says other countries might also follow in forging BFAs with the

03:30Philippines.
