00:00Going out now cost me like £60 at least, where when I was 18 it was like £20 and it'd be fine.
00:06It's too expensive, taxis went up, alcohol went up, people rather stay at home, it's cheaper,
00:12if they're going to drink they're going to do it at a house party rather than out in a club.
00:16I think it's a shame because it used to be fun.
00:18Where I come from it used to be like a mining village and pubs, back then there'd be a lot
00:23more pubs because it would be maybe more of a release, whereas now we're all doing different
00:29jobs and we've got a lot more options so we maybe don't have to drink as much to
00:35get rid of what you've been like, trying to escape your job essentially.
00:39Especially after Covid I stopped drinking altogether, it was no longer an interest of mine
00:46and I guess so much of my socialising went online that I no longer used alcohol as a reason to
00:52socialise. I still drink but not nearly as much as most young people used to at least.
