The route of professional off-road racing is a much quieter path when compared to other forms of racing in the sport. Instead of training at a closed course, off-road racers practice throughout the barren desert. Where earth's neglected washes are the open canvas for competition and where nothing but the whispering winds are present to welcome the racers throughout their rush. After a short time of racing supercross, Tallon Lafountaine made the switch over to off-road racing and has recently inked a contract with SLR Racing, where he will contest in the 2019 Worcs Racing series aboard his Monster Energy backed Honda. We ventured out to the uncivilized Southern California desert and spent a day filming with Tallon, enjoy!

00:00We're up here in the high desert and getting some motos in.
00:11I'm out here a couple days a week.
00:14It's kind of what I'm going to be racing on for the most part.
00:18It's got some sandy, some hard pack, some fast, some slow.
00:23I love being out here.
00:24It's just something about when you get off the track and you don't hear anything besides
00:31the wind.
00:32You don't hear any other bikes or anything else and it's just quiet and peaceful and
00:36I love every bit of it.
00:39The whole ride with SLR Honda came about with me just hanging out with Mark Samuels.
00:47He's obviously a big name in off-road and last year before Supercross started we were
00:53just riding mountain bikes and talking about it and I was thinking about kind of going
00:56this direction and after Supercross or like after San Diego you go into the break and
01:01I was like I'm just going to do a few and see how it turns out and then I did a few
01:05and I kept riding with Mark and he's kind of just been helping me and showing me the
01:09ways of and what to do out here and kind of been my teacher if you will.
01:16Mark runs SLR Honda and it's a great team and I'm stoked to be a part of it and I'm
01:22really looking forward to racing.
03:22I'm Talon LaFontaine, I ride for SLR Honda.
03:40Be sure to follow along on the Works Racing Series all season long.
03:44Yeah, it's kind of funny because I've been a transworld test rider now for a few years
03:50and then Don, I was thinking of going to do this Works Race in Havasu and it was my
03:56first one and he was like oh I'll build you a bike and I was like oh sick that would be
04:03perfect because I didn't have any, I didn't really know what to bring, how I was going
04:10to approach it with my bike and stuff and you know you need a big tank and mooses and
04:16just different things so he built me this tank of a motorcycle and it was actually a
04:22pretty cool introduction because of working with transworld and stuff so that's kind of
04:28funny how that's my first race with Don helping me and now it's kind of kickstarted my off
04:35road career if you will so yeah.
04:39Taking a little break at my new camper.
