00:14Laughable lawyers assured the victims of war on drugs that they were saved from being witnesses to the torture of former President Rodrigo Duterte in the International Criminal Court or ICC.
00:29At a press conference held in the Netherlands yesterday, Attorney Kristina Conte said that all victims do not need to appear in court in the ICC.
00:59For the reparation and participation of the victims, they should submit a proposal to be included in the process in the ICC.
01:13They may also be anonymous or not give their name in the testimony as protection.
01:19Aside from the Philippines, the lawyers of the civic organizations in Europe will also help for this purpose.
01:29We have been in touch with the court as regards victim participation. I've been in several meetings although the court frowns upon disclosures.
01:38We have been in touch with the court regarding representations as well as other matters in relation to the upcoming case.
01:46Lawyers are encouraging those who see or read information online, especially those who may be affected by the disinformation, in strengthening the minds of victims who are united for justice.
01:58We all need to stand together and fight all these trolls, no matter how many they are, in the thousands, in the millions,
02:06to make sure that the correct information would reach the victims and they would not be discouraged to participate in the proceedings.
02:14The European-based civic organizations will continue to carry out activities to show their intention to answer the human rights violations of former President Duterte.
02:25This is one example of the nationwide rally on March 28, the 80th anniversary of the former President.
02:32These are decentralized and coordinated mobilizations to take place in key cities all over the world.
02:40Meanwhile, the people of Europe are calling on President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to return the membership of the Philippines to the ICC.
02:48We continue to urge the Marcos Jr. administration to rejoin the ICC.
02:53If his intentions to cooperate with the ICC are truly genuine, if his intentions are truly meant to serve justice to the victims of the Duterte's crimes,
03:03then Marcos Jr. should have no problem returning to the fold and reinstating the Philippine government's membership to the Rome Statute.
03:13The ICC is also considered by lawyers to be a big step for justice for the victims of human rights violations during the last administration.
03:23From People's Television Network, Vel Custodio, Balitang Pambansa.
03:30Former President Rodrigo Duterte is far from the former Senator Ninoy Aquino.
03:36This is the reaction of Malacanang to the concern of Vice President Sara Duterte that her father was wrong about what happened to Ninoy when he returned to the country.
03:45Ninoy was arrested at the former Manila International Airport when he returned to the country in 1983.
03:52According to Malacanang, instead of Ninoy, it is more appropriate to compare him to Hitler, the former President, especially himself.
04:01He even said,
04:04and I quote,
04:05Hitler massacred 3 million, actually it's supposed to be 6 million Jews.
04:09Now there is 3 million, what is it, 3 million drug addicts in the Philippines? There are.
04:16I'd be happy to slaughter them.
04:19At least if Germany had Hitler, the Philippines would have me.
04:24So it is very far to compare yourself or compare the former President Duterte to Ninoy Aquino who did not have any record of mass murder.
04:37So where did this come from?
04:39We need materials and evidence before making these kinds of statements.
04:45There is no truth to that.
