Thousands protested in Amsterdam, Paris and Toulouse against the backdrop of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

00:00More than 10,000 people gathered in Dam Square in the Dutch capital Amsterdam to participate
00:07in anti-racism and fascism protests.
00:10The demonstration comes against the backdrop of the International Day for the Elimination
00:14of Racial Discrimination, observed annually on the 21st of March.
00:19Protesters held signs reading Never Again as they warned against the rise of the far
00:22right across Europe, drawing memory to its disastrous history in the 20th century.
00:28Protesters also waved Palestinian flags in solidarity with the people of Gaza after Israel
00:33moved to resume the fighting following the breakdown of a fragile truce with Hamas.
00:38Protests also took place in France across multiple cities including the capital Paris
00:42as well as Lyon and Toulouse.
00:44The French Interior Ministry says some 91,000 people participated in the nationwide rallies.
00:51Protesters voiced their rejection of far-right parties amid the rightward shift in French
00:54politics and the government's recent pledge to crack down on immigration.
00:59Protesters also waved Palestinian flags and carried placards accusing President Emmanuel
01:04Macron of complicity in what they called an unfolding genocide.
