00:00They can change from two weeks to the number one.
00:05So in some weeks it may shift to El Paso,
00:09or some other sector.
00:12It varies.
00:13It depends on how excited you are about it.
00:15I guess that's another question.
00:30What we see here behind us today
00:48is the result of a true whole-of-government effort.
00:52From the Marines laying down miles of concertina wire
00:55along the border infrastructure
00:57to the soldiers manning our scope trucks
00:59and remote video surveillance cameras 24-7.
01:05This is an all-hands-on-deck type situation,
01:07and everyone has risen to the challenge.
01:11While we continue to see people attempt to illegally enter the country
01:14between the ports of entry,
01:16the addition of the concertina wire
01:18has significantly slowed down illegal entries.
01:44So catch-and-release has ended.
01:46That is no longer happening.
01:48Anyone who is apprehended here on the border
01:52is being taken to our central processing center.
01:55Their checks around biometrics are collected.
01:59Should they have some sort of criminal history,
02:01then we'll present them to the United States Attorney's Office
02:04to be prosecuted for that, whatever they have done.
02:09And from there, once we get them back,
02:11they'll be removed from the United States.
02:27We've emplaced miles of concertina wire
02:30as part of an obstacle design that is welded permanently
02:33to the existing primary and secondary barrier
02:35along the southern border.
02:37The concertina wire creates an obstacle
02:39that disrupts any type of activity
02:42or attempts to cross over the top or through the barrier.
03:10Every day, our soldiers work tirelessly
03:12to detect and report illegal crossings
03:15and enabling a swift response from our Border Patrol counterparts.
03:19These efforts directly contribute to Border Patrol's ability
03:22to maintain a secure and effective operational presence
03:26and demonstrates the strength of interagency cooperation.
