00:10Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that one needs to exercise delimitation with caution.
00:15Ensure states won't lose seats in Lok Sabha and in Rajya Sabha.
00:19So, this is an appeal which is being made by the former chief minister of the state
00:23of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy.

00:33We need to ensure that states won't lose Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha seats.
00:39My colleague, Apurva, is now joining me on the story.
00:44Apurva, we are seeing how, you know, the temperatures are rising in southern part of the nation.
00:50On one side, in the state of Tamil Nadu, we are seeing this huge meeting taking place
00:54against delimitation and now Jagan Mohan Reddy has also written to Prime Minister saying
00:58that one needs to look at delimitation with a lot of caution.
01:01Well, definitely, Aishwarya, in fact, not only that, in fact, Jagan Mohan Reddy, the
01:07YSRCP chief and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister has also gone on and written to,
01:14you know, Prime Minister Modi wherein, not only has he requested that the delimitation
01:18exercise be conducted in a manner that no state would have to ensure any, you know,
01:25endure any reduction to its representation, but he also says that, you know, it has to
01:29be in a very cautious manner in which this delimitation exercise needs to be, you know,
01:37taken forth as well.
01:38Remember, earlier on, the DMK had also, in its, you know, meeting that is being held
01:45today, it had also invited the YSRCP as well, wherein senior leaders from the DMK had gone
01:51to visit Jagan Mohan Reddy and invited him to partake in this program today as well,
01:56which is currently underway.
01:57But, you know, Jagan has also not only stated that there needs to be an, ensure an appropriate
02:04increase of fees across all states, but he is also talking about a constitutional impediment
02:11to go ahead with this kind of an exercise as well.
02:15This is the first statement coming in from Jagan Mohan Reddy regarding delimitation because,
02:19you know, he is also, in a way, supporting what the DMK's stand is, wherein he says that,
02:26yes, there needs to be a delimitation process that needs to take place and it needs to ensure
02:33that there isn't any kind of discrepancies for the southern states as well in terms of
02:38the representation and that's one of the main, you know, things that the DMK has been fighting
02:43for regarding the delimitation process as well.
02:47And now, Jagan has just joined in, in their demands, wherein not only has he written a
02:52letter to the DMK, you know, giving them a sign of his support, but also written to Prime
02:56Minister Modi, wherein he's gone ahead and stated that if you need to carry on the delimitation,
03:02you know, process, then you need to ensure that the representation of the southern states
03:07is taken into utmost consideration.
03:09Aishwarya?
03:10Thank you, Apoorva.
03:11And now, we are seeing, it is Jagan Mohan Reddy who's written to Prime Minister Narendra
