00:00It's always really popular with daytrippers at Easter and people travelling for a few
00:06days away, so we're looking forward to taking our customers for some fun days out.
00:11At the moment we can see our most popular journeys over Easter look like from London
00:15Kings Cross to Leeds to York and to Edinburgh. You'll know that all of these are really great
00:20vibrant cities, loads to see and do, and of course we've got 54 destinations between Inverness
00:26and Aberdeen and London Kings Cross, so lots of opportunity and lots of places to visit
00:31this Easter.
00:32Liverpool is hosting Easter themed events at menus such as the World Museum, where families
00:38can enjoy special exhibitions and interactive workshops throughout the Easter weekend.
00:43For an alternative option, Birmingham's Botanical Gardens will feature guided nature walks and
00:49seasonal events suitable for visitors of all ages, ensuring an engaging and relaxing Easter
00:55break for all the family.
00:57Well I think one of the most popular things this Easter might be right here in York, which
01:00is where I'm talking to you from today, where there is an Easter chocolate festival. It's
01:06an annual festival in York and you can really get your Easter chocolate fix there if you
01:10haven't got enough Easter eggs already. There'll be market stalls with chocolate, there's a
01:14taste trail and it's a five day event, so plenty of time to get to York to enjoy the
01:19chocolate.
01:20If you're a bit chocolated out by Easter already though, there's plenty of other things. We've
01:24got kind of seaside resorts, you can go and take your bucket and spade and get some fish
01:29and chips in Edinburgh. You can go to Portobello, you can go to Tynemouth via Newcastle and
01:33then loads of other things you can do, you know kind of green spaces in Lincoln or Harrogate
01:38and there's the, of course if you like wildlife and the animal kingdom, in Doncaster and Hull
01:43we've got Yorkshire Wildlife Park and The Deep, both of which are very popular over Easter.
01:47Have you got any tips for people? I know sometimes it can be a little bit intimidating to just
01:54go on train travel websites.
01:56Keeping trips affordable is really important for people, I know, especially if you're travelling
01:59with a family. Book early is the number one thing. The earlier you book, the better prices
02:04you're going to get. So there are lots of different ways of making sure you get the
02:07real best value to enjoy that train trip.
