00:00I think being a member of the Outback Club is kind of like just being an Australian.
00:07There's so many parts of the song that talk about, you know, don't back down, we don't
00:12give up, we're living in the land we love.
00:15It's my salute to country Australia.
00:17We've done it with the song, I wear the hat, and it's part of who I am, you know, I'll
00:23be wearing this hat for the rest of my days, I'm sure.
00:26Well the original Outback Club collaboration happened on a chance visit to Kempsey when
00:31I was out on tour.
00:33I caught up with the legends themselves, Steve Keer and Steve Keer Jr. and they said let's
00:39do our special edition Outback Club hat and we put our heads together, made some modifications
00:45and that's where the Outback Club was born, right there in Kempsey.
00:49A lot of people ask me, can I wear your hat, can I try your hat on, and apparently, you
00:53know, there's a bit of a rule, an unspoken rule that the only person who gets to wear
00:58your hat is yourself and your better half.
01:00She wears it from time to time and she looks a lot better in it than I do.
01:06Any girl who wears one of these hats is going to look pretty good.
01:10One of the things I really love about a hat, somehow or other it's there with you through
01:15your life, through the journeys that you take, the good times, the bad, everything in between
01:21and they become a part of your story.
01:24And the Outback Club is definitely a part of my story, it's a huge part of it and for
01:32me I reckon the Akubra should be a part of everyone's wardrobe.
01:36You gotta have an Akubra hat somewhere.
