00:00Stallion open house season is underway in Kentucky and our first stop this year was
00:07at Spendthrift Farm where they'll add three new stallions to their roster in 2025.
00:22I think for us in 2025, you know, this will be the biggest roster that we've had since
00:28any of us have been here.
00:30It's 29 stallions, you know, we bred 3,700 mares basically last year.
00:35I think we were six short.
00:37So this year we have three new stallions.
00:39We have Kings Barnes, son of Uncle Mo.
00:43We will have Dornach, a son of Good Magic, and we'll have National Treasure, a son of
00:48Quality Road.
00:50A full brother to Kentucky Derby winner Mage, Dornach will stand for $40,000 in his debut
00:55season.
00:56Dornach, a son of Good Magic, was a leading three-year-old this year, collecting wins
00:59in the Fountain of Youth, the Haskell, and the Belmont.
01:02Dornach in an absolute thriller, Dornach, and mind frame, it will be Dornach.
01:07This horse was very game all the way through his two-year-old year.
01:11His race in the Remson was amazing.
01:14The tenacity he showed to be able to come back and beat Sierra Leone.
01:19He's come in here, he's big, he's gorgeous.
01:22Good Magic out of the great broodmare Puka.
01:25There's a lot to life.
01:26He's got a wonderful stride, moves out pretty nicely, kind of nice and easy, and he's correct
01:34up front and behind.
01:37He's got plenty of engine back there for a big boy, and I was pretty impressed with him.
01:41I thought he was very nice.
01:43National Treasure's Prigtus win was one of three Grade 1 scores for the $5.5 million
01:48earner.
01:49As Quality Road's only Classic winner, he'll join Dornach in standing for $40,000 in 2025.
01:56We were looking for a son of Quality Road, something that we could bring to our breeders
02:01that was a little different.
02:03Just got beat to Cody's Wish, the champion, ahead in the Breeders' Cup Mile last year.
02:10He would go on this year to win the Pegasus World Cup down at Gulfstream.
02:15He would win the Met Mile, which was a very exciting race.
02:19National Treasure and Flavien Pratt making short work of the competition, devastating
02:25them in the Hillandale Metropolitan Handicap.
02:28It looks very much like a Quality Road.
02:30A long-bodied horse, but with a nice short back, nice size horse, very attractive, very
02:35balanced.
02:36I liked him very much as well.
02:39An $800,000 two-year-old, Kings Barnes validated his purchase prize by earning three Graded
02:44Stakes wins, including the Grade 1 Stephen Foster.
02:47He'll join Yaupon and Moe Donegal as a son of Sire of Sire's Uncle Moe standing at Spendthrift.
02:54Kings Barnes is one of the first horses that we actually bought as a two-year-old.
02:59He campaigned for us, came back and won the Stephen Foster very impressively, ran a four
03:04on the sheath.
03:06He's a beautiful horse.
03:07He's a fast horse that can carry his speed.
03:10We brought him in here for $20,000 and very excited for the breeders to come see him.
03:16He's been very well received.
03:19Dornoch and Kings Barnes, physically imposing, a little different from one another, but both
03:26physically look fantastic.
03:30We also like National Treasure, clearly is not just based on his sale price.
03:37He's just a beautiful horse and we expect big things from all three of them.
03:44The demand out here has been crazy and that's what you hope for.
03:49Anytime that you've got these new horses coming in, you hope that breeders are going to love
03:54them as much as you do.
