00:00OPPO phones are known for their cameras, but in F series, it's camera plus durability.
00:04And today we have the all new OPPO F29 Pro, which we are going to review.
00:09I'll also tell you who should buy this phone and who shouldn't.
00:12But before that, if you're new to the channel, don't forget to subscribe.
00:15There's a dual camera setup on the rear, where there's a 50MP main camera with OIS,
00:19and the second one is a 2MP depth sensor.
00:22So, there's a missing telephoto and ultra-wide lens, which should have been available at this price.
00:26But one good thing is that the camera bump on this phone is quite minimal.
00:29And on the front, you get a 16MP selfie camera.
00:32I've captured a lot of photos and videos from this camera in different scenarios, and you can have a look.
00:37Mostly, you're going to get saturation on the higher side in the photos.
00:41The colours will be a bit punchy.
00:42Like here, you can see the colours, they look really bright.
00:45If we talk about the zoom, I've taken some photos on 1x, 2x and 10x.
00:49And I can tell you that I'm impressed by the results.
00:52After processing, the details that we get in the photos, they are really good.
00:56Even without a telephoto camera, the zoom of this phone does a good job here.
01:00And the photos taken on 2x are very usable.
01:03You can see some more photos of this camera, where the colours look really good.
01:07The camera captures a lot of glare in the photos.
01:10But I don't have a problem with this, because I think it makes the photos look more aesthetic.
01:14I don't know why, but in some scenarios, the colours look natural in the photos.
01:17But in some scenarios, the photos look a bit too saturated.
01:21Like you can see this photo, where there are multiple colours.
01:24And all the colours look really natural.
01:26You can see this shot, which I took of this ride, where there were a lot of colours.
01:30And the colour output of all the photos, they are kind of natural.
01:35By the way, I've noticed one thing, that when you click photos where there is a lot of greenery,
01:39then these colours balance well.
01:41Otherwise, the colours look saturated.
01:43In some cases, the colours look inaccurate too.
01:45Like this flower wasn't as orange as it looks in this photo.
01:49But if you like punchy and vibrant colours, then you will like the photos of this camera.
01:54In the camera app, you get the option of live photos.
01:57Also, there is an option to control the exposure.
01:59By adjusting this, you can also take some dark, moody photos.
02:03The results of which are actually quite good.
02:05Also, in the camera app, you get some basic filters for different scenarios.
02:09The skin tones from the rear camera are decent.
02:12In some places, the saturation is a bit high.
02:14So, in some places, it balances quite well.
02:16The edge detection in the portraits is also quite good.
02:18And the bokeh effect that comes out here, looks quite natural.
02:22The results of the front camera are also quite good.
02:24The skin tones here are also decent.
02:26But the dynamic range of the front camera is not as good as you can see in this photo,
02:30where the sky is burnt out.
02:32But in the portraits, the edge detection in the front camera is also quite good.
02:36In fact, I found the skin tones of the front camera better than the skin tones of the rear camera.
02:40Then, there is also an underwater mode here,
02:42where it is not able to focus properly in the photos right now,
02:45but the results of the videos are good.
02:47If we talk about the videos, then you can record videos up to 4K 30fps from the rear camera.
02:51And if you want to record videos at higher fps,
02:54then you get the option of 1080p 60fps here.
02:57But you have to keep in mind that the ultra-stabilization mode here,
03:00it only works with 1080p 60fps.
03:03And you can record videos up to 1080p 30fps from the front camera.
03:07If you want to record portrait videos,
03:09then you don't get the support for that on 1080p.
03:13You can only record portrait videos at 720p 30fps.
03:17As I told you, portrait videos can only be recorded at 720p 30fps.
03:21And now, this portrait video is being recorded from the rear camera.
03:24So, you can understand what kind of edge detection you are going to get.
03:28By the way, you tell me in the comments, how do you like the video quality of this?
03:32Now, let's also see the stabilization of the video.
03:34Right now, I have turned off the stabilization mode here.
03:37And we can see that the video is jittering a little here.
03:39Now, let's turn on the stabilization of the video here.
03:43Right now, I have turned on the stabilization mode here.
03:45And the stabilization looks decent.
03:52Now, you can see this footage from its front camera as well.
03:54Where the skin tones are decent, not bad actually.
03:58And if I go against the light,
04:01then some details seem to be missing here.
04:05But, okay, it balances quite well.
04:07By the way, surprisingly, here you get the option of portrait video on 1080p in the front camera,
04:12which you don't get from its rear camera.
04:14So, basically, if you want to record portrait videos from the rear camera,
04:18then you can only do it in 720p 30fps.
04:21But, you can also record portrait videos in 1080p 30fps from its selfie camera.
04:26By the way, you get only two options.
04:27One is 1080p 30fps and the other is 720p 30fps.
04:31Rest, you can also see its edge detection.
04:32I am recording a portrait video from the front camera
04:34with aperture 1.4 video setting, 1080p 30fps.
04:38And, yeah, you can see how it is detecting around the fingers as well.
04:45You have seen the camera of this phone.
04:46But, there is a lot more about this phone.
04:48First is, obviously, durability.
04:50Where Oppo claims for its 360-degree armor body.
04:53And you get Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on its display,
04:57which is great in this price point.
04:59Along with that, you get IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings on this phone.
05:03If you don't know why they have given three ratings here,
05:06then let me tell you.
05:07IP66 means that the phone is resistant to dust and water spray.
05:10And IP68 means that the phone is resistant to dust and water immersion,
05:14which means that you can even dip the phone in water.
05:16And third comes IP69,
05:18which means that the phone is resistant to dust and high-pressure water jets.
05:22The main thing is that the phone's durability is quite good here.
05:25Second is the phone's battery,
05:26where you get a 6000mAh all-new silicon-carbon battery in this phone.
05:31And, even after having a 6000mAh silicon-carbon battery,
05:33the phone is quite lightweight.
05:35And this phone also supports 80W fast charging.
05:37Third is its quad-curve display,
05:39which looks quite good.
05:41Now the question is,
05:42who should buy this phone and who shouldn't?
05:44Look, I don't take its 2MP secondary camera seriously.
05:50Here, you get to see a single 50MP camera.
05:53And the results of all over photos of that single camera are good.
05:56I can say, it's social media ready.
05:58In photos, the saturation is on the higher side,
06:00but the results are actually not bad.
06:02But in performance, this phone lags far behind.
06:04Here, you get to see MediaTek's Dimensity 7300 chipset,
06:08which doesn't justify this price.
06:10In this price, you get to see chipsets like Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8S Gen 3,
06:14like in iQOO Neo 10R and POCO F6,
06:16which is a lot better.
06:17So, one thing is clear here,
06:18if you are looking for a heavy-performance phone,
06:20or if you want to buy a gaming-centric phone,
06:22then this one is absolutely not for you.
06:25Because its performance is like a half-priced phone.
06:27The camera is good, but not the best in the segment.
06:30You get to see a better camera in Moto Edge 50 Pro and Realme 14 Pro+.
06:34But the durability combo you get on this camera phone,
06:37that is unique.
06:38Because you get Gorilla Glass Victus 2 here,
06:40and the phone is IP66, IP68, and IP69 rated.
06:44So, if you want a phone with a good camera,
06:46and its durability is even better than that,
06:48then this one is for you.
06:50Also, if your phone falls off your hands a lot,
06:52then you can go with this.
06:53But one thing you have to keep in mind here,
06:55the company has claimed the durability here,
06:57but if your phone gets damaged by mistake,
07:00then you won't get any replacement or refund from the company.
07:03It will be on your expense.
07:04So, this was our review of this OPPO F29 Pro.
07:06What are your thoughts about this phone?
07:08Tell me in the comments.
