00:00This musical is centered on the letter D.
00:09It was written by Dali Dulu.
00:13He named it Delia D.
00:15It's about a drug addict
00:20who is in a drug bar
00:23and he has a dream.
00:26He's forcing it.
00:30He's so determined to achieve his dream.
00:34I guess that's the major through line of this musical.
00:42But along the way,
00:44there's a lot of divas, a lot of drama.
00:46I really don't like the letter D.
00:49But I guess it's also a lot of fun
00:52because it's a different world.
00:54Two different worlds.
00:55A drug bar and a world of showbiz.
00:58And how it interacts
01:00and how Delia D enters that world.
01:05I guess that's the beautiful,
01:08punctuated but wonderful music of Jonathan Manalo.
01:13We're very happy that Jonathan Manalo
01:16is celebrating his 24th year
01:19anniversary in the industry.
01:21We're doing a musical out of it.
01:22Just like what Metro La Chancayulo said,
01:24it's hybrid.
01:25So I think it's an exciting take also
01:27because of course,
01:28just like what he said,
01:29it's a journey.
01:30So we have Delia,
01:31who's actually a drag performer
01:33who decided to join a reality music competition.
01:37The title is now Idols of the Galaxy.
01:39And you have the contestants.
01:40And from there,
01:41from the contestants,
01:42he'll meet a lot of people.
01:43He'll encounter a lot of people.
01:45Of course, that will foster
01:47a different sense of friendship
01:49and sense of the family also.
01:51In terms of the journey,
01:54as usual,
01:55it's always exciting
01:56when you're creating
01:57an original Filipino musical.
01:59But this time,
02:00it's not only limited
02:01to the worlds of the musical.
02:03We're doing also the repertoire
02:04in terms of not only also creating narratives
02:07in terms of plot points,
02:08but we also have numbers
02:10that will be showcased
02:11like TV performances.
02:13Sometimes there are also
02:14like reality competitions.
02:15If you're familiar with The Voice
02:17or with American Idol
02:18and all that sort of stuff,
02:19we will have sort of numbers like that.
02:21Also, we will have concert scenes.
02:23Or sometimes,
02:24we will have also some TV guestings.
02:25Aside from the whole idea
02:27of the fantasy world,
02:28of course, we will have...
02:29Of course, Delia can't have
02:31no drag family.
02:32And we have Sweet here,
02:34who's also...
02:35The title of her character is Mama Eme.
02:38Who's actually the owner of the bar.
02:41The name is Drag and Tell Bar.
02:43Of course, Delia's family
02:45are the Diva Letts.
02:47You've already seen them like that.
02:48It's obvious that they're the Diva Letts.
02:50Without any...
02:52So, again, it's a powerful...
02:54It's an endearing journey.
02:56Of course, in Newport World Resorts,
02:57we want...
02:58It's a show that you can bring
02:59the whole family, right?
03:01Of course, in terms of representation also,
03:03it's highly inclusive.
03:04And it's nice to watch a show
03:07where you can see all of our Filipinos.
03:09Filipinos in terms of everybody.
03:11Our love for music.
03:13Our love for the entertainment world.
03:15Our love for performance.
03:17Our love...
03:18We're all dreamers here.
03:19And also, our care
03:21for our friends,
03:23for our family.
03:24So, I hope you can come.
03:26It's a different experience.
03:27It's totally different.
03:29We're the only ones who can say that.
03:30It's totally different from
03:31only LV with a musical.
03:32It will be totally different
03:34with Boragudui Stunts to Gudun Stunts.
03:36So, we're very much excited.
03:38In terms of sets,
03:40in terms of costumes,
03:42we're not always shortchanging you.
03:45This will be more exciting.
03:48And this will be...
03:49We always say it's simple.
03:51But again,
03:52it becomes more difficult and difficult.
03:54But then again,
03:56we want you to bring your family,
03:58your friends,
03:59your brothers and everything.
04:01It's not only for Gen Z.
04:02It's not only for...
04:04It's for everybody.
04:06And...
04:07I'm saying a lot.
04:08Jonathan, right?
04:10So, in terms of the songs,
04:12I mean,
04:13I'm sure you were surprised earlier.
04:14Oh!
04:15That's a song of Jonathan.
04:16He did a lot.
04:18And...
04:19We'll give it a different kind of color
04:22here at Delia D of the Musical
04:25featuring the songs of Jonathan Maas.
04:27So, please, please come.
04:28Please come.
04:29It will be a totally different experience.
04:30You'll have a good time.
04:32And of course,
04:33we have a cap.
04:34We have a skirt.
04:35We have a scarf.
04:36And of course,
04:37we have a kiss and love.
04:39I'm so excited.
04:41And I can say that
04:42I can say that
04:43I'm super proud
04:45of the outcome.
04:46Although I haven't seen the whole thing yet
04:48because
04:49the rehearsals are ongoing.
04:51But I've seen
04:52bits and pieces of greatness.
04:54And
04:55I'm so excited
04:56that we'll be able to watch
04:58the whole Delia D of the Musical.
05:00And of course,
05:01my music...
05:02I said that
05:03when I was asked to do this musical,
05:05I said,
05:06I've made a lot of songs
05:08through the years.
05:09And
05:10I don't know how it will end.
05:11Of course,
05:12Direct Dali Dulo
05:13helped me
05:14create the story
05:16where my songs will end.
05:17And of course,
05:18the vision of
05:19Direct Dexter
05:20in mounting this musical
05:22overall
05:23Ms. Menchu
05:25and
05:26Vince
05:27doing the musical arrangement
05:28that will end
05:29in the story of Delia D.
05:32I'm so
05:33I'm so happy
05:34because the songs,
05:36of course,
05:37I wrote them with
05:38the initial context
05:40for the singer
05:41or for the TV series
05:43or for the movie
05:44or based on
05:45my own inspiration
05:47when I was writing those songs.
05:49But now,
05:50it's in the story
05:51of Delia D.
05:53I said,
05:54Oh,
05:55that's the meaning of that song.
05:56Oh,
05:57that's the context
05:58based on
05:59the story
06:00that we're gonna tell
06:01in this musical.
06:03And I'm so excited
06:05that you'll see
06:06and watch
06:07because
06:08it's so beautiful.
06:10Okay.
06:11Vince.
06:14Hello.
06:15First,
06:16thank you, Sir Jonathan,
06:17for your music
06:18because
06:19it's really beautiful.
06:20The songs
06:21that we put into the show
06:23are really beautiful
06:25because
06:26it helps tell
06:27the narrative of the show
06:28and the story
06:29that we're trying to tell.
06:31I think I relate
06:32to what
06:33Direct Dexter said
06:34that it's surprising
06:35that
06:36Sir Jonathan
06:37was the one
06:38who wrote that song
06:39because
06:40I went through that phase
06:41as I was reading
06:42page one of the script
06:43going down
06:44and then,
06:45I was like,
06:46Oh,
06:47this is it.
06:48So,
06:49I was really surprised.
06:50And,
06:51well,
06:52that's it.
06:53I think
06:54it was
06:55somewhat easy
06:56but
06:57process-wise,
06:58of course,
06:59there's a lot to do
07:00but
07:01it was easy for me
07:02to try and fit
07:03the music
07:04of Sir Jonathan
07:05into the story
07:06For me,
07:07the story is very relatable.
07:08I mean,
07:09everybody has dreams.
07:10Everybody wants
07:11to be someone.
07:12Everybody wants
07:13to do something
07:14in their life
07:15where they feel
07:16they're special
07:17whether it's for this reason
07:18and for that reason.
07:19And,
07:20I go through that
07:21everyday in my life.
07:22So,
07:23again,
07:24if I didn't make sense,
07:25I will make sense
07:26when you hear the music,
07:27I hope.
07:28Thank you,
07:29Sir Jonathan.
07:30And,
07:31good luck.
