00:00This was a disappointment. Two days where it felt like we were watching the 163rd and 164th games of 2024 with the Cubs batters striking out, looking like they can't get on base.
00:14Twelve strikeouts today, right?
00:1621 in two days.
00:17Yeah.
00:1821 in two days. Twelve today.
00:19That's a lot.
00:20I know it's the pitchers. I know it's the Dodgers.
00:22And the Cubs also were walking people. Fifteen over the two games.
00:26That's not good.
00:27We saw…
00:28Eight today.
00:29Ryan Presley made his debut on cue.
00:32Yeah.
00:33Did he walk the bases loaded?
00:35It seemed like everything that could have gone wrong did.
00:39And, yeah, it's only one game. We can all agree on that.
00:45And we can debate how much it means. It means really very little over the course of 162 games.
00:50It counts.
00:51But if you miss the playoffs by a game, I'm coming back to March 18th.
00:58Or not, 19th.
00:59You know, honestly, that's exactly what you should do.
01:03We have a text here this morning.
01:05Already?
01:06Guy just says, I hate Rob Manfred.
01:11How do you start these games at five in the morning? I can't get up and watch the Cubs.
01:15It's not the early start that is bothersome.
01:18I could get used to some of those things.
01:20But if you're going to start early, at least win once out of two games.
01:24Split. Go 500. Make it worth the trip and the effort and all of the experiences.
01:29Now it just seems like, boy, Craig Council can't get out of the country soon enough.
01:33Yeah, you got seven games this year against the Dodgers.
01:37Only two are at Wrigley Field.
01:39Not good.
01:41Suddenly this seems like a bad idea.
01:42Because these were their home games.
01:44So those count as Cubs home games, even though they were in Japan.
