00:00Okay, this is the image that we passed in the CyberJaya report to recruit people from Hong Kong.
00:10For your information, on 13th March, 2025,
00:14a robbery took place in a condominium unit in CyberJaya, Selangor
00:20which was classified as a fraud.
00:24As a result of the robbery, 5 men and 2 women,
00:28Malaysian citizens aged 22 to 36 years old, were detained.
00:35All the detainees acted as call center operators.
00:407 computers, 11 mobile phones, 1 router, 1 lock, and a card were confiscated.
00:49Here is the case file.
00:52Through the investigation,
00:54the syndicate was found to be involved in a second-layer activity
01:00in the fraudulent job scam
01:04that targeted the victims among Hong Kong citizens.
01:09They acted to instruct the victims to do certain tasks
01:15before they could get a 20% refund from the amount of money they were paid.
01:21The investigation also found that this syndicate had been operating for about a year
01:29and received a salary of RM4,000 per person.
01:333 of the detainees had a record of fraud
01:37involving various crimes including gambling, drug dealing, and fraud.
01:43All the detainees in the first round started from 14th to 17th March, 2025,
01:50and the second round started from 18th to 19th March, 2025.
01:56All the detainees will be charged in the Supang Magistrate's Court on 19th March, 2025
02:03under Section 120B, Bracket 1 of the Penal Code,
02:08read together with Section 417 and 34 of the Penal Code.
02:14Once again, the syndicate was used as a call center operator.
02:21Therefore, as a preventive measure, I urge all the owners of the premises to take note
02:29and implement the KYC before allowing their premises to be rented
02:35and used by other people.
02:38If possible, today also, see who lives in their house.
02:43The reason for not knowing the activities that were carried out in the premises
02:47cannot be considered.
02:49As the owners of the premises, they are legally responsible
02:54for any criminal activity carried out in their premises.
02:59This means that everyone cannot let go of their hands.
03:01If so, it's easy. This is not my business, this is the police's business.
03:05Go and investigate the police and charge them.
03:08It's not that easy.
03:11They need a lawyer.
