The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will question RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in Patna over the land-for-jobs scam. The probe centers on alleged railway job allocations in exchange for cash during his tenure as Railway Minister (2004–2009). ED will also investigate properties acquired by the Yadav family in Delhi and Bihar. This follows the recent questioning of Rabri Devi and Tej Pratap Yadav.

00:00This has got to do with the alliance for job scam involving Lalu Yadav.
00:04The ED is willing, is what we know, Lalu to reach ED office in Patna.
00:11ED to ask on jobs, railway jobs in lieu of cash.
00:14To ask Lalu on number of youth fleeced.
00:17Also, ED to ask Lalu on alleged black assets.
00:20ED to question Lalu on rail job scam conduits.
00:26I'm going to go straight across to Rohit for more details.
00:28On that story, Rohit, give us a sense of what the line of questioning really
00:32is going to be at this point in time once the drilling starts.
00:41Well, yes, this is not for the first time that RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav will be
00:45questioned in the land for job scam by the investigating agency.
00:48That's the ED in this case.
00:50And today at around 10.30, what we are learning is that Lalu Prasad has to present himself before
00:55the ED office in Patna, where I am at this point of time.
00:58And the security deployment has already taken place here.
01:02And remember, yesterday, Rabri Devi and Tej Pratap Yadav were summoned by the ED,
01:06and they also came here.
01:08And both of them were questioned by the ED for almost four and a half hours.
01:13And a lot of questions were asked regarding the land for job scam.
01:17And what we are learning is that the ED has landed on some new and fresh
01:23documents and fresh evidence on the basis of which questioning has to be done.
01:28And that is why both Lalu, Rabri Devi and Tej Pratap Yadav have been questioned
01:32back to back in these two days.
01:34And what we are learning is that the ED will be questioning that from where did Lalu Prasad
01:40and his family acquire properties, land in Delhi, in various parts of Bihar.
01:46So several questions are there that have to be asked by the investigating agencies
01:52with Lalu Prasad Yadav, especially because this scam pertains to the period when Lalu
01:56was the Railway Minister between 2004 and 2009.
02:00So in an election year, you see it's trouble mounting for the Yadav family here.
02:05And in October and November, what you know is that the elections will take place.
02:09But just ahead of that, we are seeing that pressure is mounting.
02:13And once again, the ED, which is like investigating the land for job scam,
02:19has started questioning several members of the Lalu family.
02:23Back to you.
02:24Rohit Singh, I'm going to leave it at that for the moment.
02:26Thanking you for getting in those details from the ED office.
02:28And Patna was my colleague Rohit with the very latest on that story.
02:32We have more news coming in.
02:33Let's take a look.

03:43Nitesh Rane has made this comment.
03:45Let's take a listen.

05:08There's been writing.
05:09There have been several people have been injured.
05:12Hrithik.
05:14Absolutely.
05:15And this is not the first time minister Nitesh Rane has made such a provocative statement.
05:20In fact, when asked yesterday in the ongoing that opposition alliance is demanding his
05:28resignation over his provocative statements, which is leading to communal tensions.
05:35He has categorically said that I am one of the favorite minister in the list of
05:41CM Devendra Padnavi and it is my right and duty to save the Hindu and Sanatan Dharma values.
05:48So he is adamant and he is keeping on going on making such provocative statements.
05:55And this is not the first time minister Nitesh Rane has made such a statement.
06:00Be with us.
06:01Coming back to you, Hrithik Bhalekar in a moment from now.
06:04More news coming in.
06:05Let's take a look.
06:14Maharashtra ATS official has said they are doing a discrete inquiry, which is routine in such
06:19cases.
06:20This on reports of Kashmir pattern of stone pelting.
06:23The ATS official in question says there is no pattern that has been established,
06:28how the mob was mobilized with stones and bricks.
06:30Petrol pumps used with precession on police vehicles.
06:34All these angles need to be probed by the police is what we know.
06:37Hrithik continues to be with us for more on that.
06:40The ATS, they're saying that they are probing the way the riots began really,
06:44but no specific pattern has been established as far as stone pelting is concerned.
06:48Hrithik.
06:56Maharashtra ATS to probe how the Nagpur riots began.
07:00They've been tasked with the job of looking into how the writing and the tensions
07:04began in this area and continued up until late Monday evening.
07:09The ATS has said they're doing a discrete inquiry, which is routine in such cases
07:14on reports of Kashmir pattern of stone pelting.
07:17ATS official said there is no pattern as of now,
07:21how the mob was mobilized with stones and bricks.
07:24Petrol bombs used with precession on police vehicles.
07:26All these angles need to be probed by the cops is what we know.
07:30Hrithik.
07:35Getting you more details about the inquiry in this case,
07:38about the investigations in this case, even as an uneasy calm prevails
07:42in Maharashtra's violence at Nagpur with the ATS saying
07:46how the mob was mobilized with sticks and stones,
07:50whether there is a pattern to this or not is going to be established
07:53only after a detailed inquiry is what we know.
07:57The ATS to probe how the Nagpur riots began essentially in this case.
08:02ATS probe how mob mobilized with stones and sticks.
08:07They're doing a discrete inquiry, which is routine in such cases
08:11is what sources within the ATS are indicating.
08:20Hrithik is back with us for the very latest.
08:22Take us through the details of the investigations in this case.
08:26Hrithik.
08:27So,
08:39uneasy calm in Maharashtra's violence at Nagpur.
08:42Curfew continues in sensitive areas hit by the riots.
08:46On Monday night, cops are investigating multiple CCTV footage
08:50to identify all the rioters in a bid to ensure police and security personnel
08:55conducted a flag march in the violent city areas as well.
08:59Around 50 rioters have been arrested so far.
09:01Security has been beefed up.
09:03Nagpur commissioners revealed to India today
09:05that the stones used by the rioters were taken from construction sites
09:09and that it was hardened criminals who attacked the cops.
09:12Probe will now be on whether the riots were pre-planned.
09:15Maharashtra government claimed the attack was well-planned
09:18and says it was a rumor that triggered the violence.
09:21The opposition trained guns at the Mahayati Sarkar alleging
09:25worsening law and order situation in Maharashtra.
12:51Violence
13:14erupted in Nagpur on Monday night among two groups leading to violence, vandalism and arson.
13:20Maharashtra government called the riots a pre-planned conspiracy and says
13:24it's a rumor that triggered this violence.
13:49An angry mob ran riot on the streets of Nagpur on Monday night.
14:20The rioters were caught on camera vandalising vehicles and businesses,
14:31hurling petrol bombs, setting vehicles ablaze.
14:50Stones were pelted at both innocent bystanders and police officials.
15:09The cops struggled to control the mob with tear gas and lathi charge.
15:50Revealing how the attackers were armed to teeth.
16:11Another eyewitness claims the mob moved with the intention to fan the flames of hatred.
16:20The mob was armed with swords, bricks and glass.
16:24They set fire to 8-10 vehicles and cars.
16:30I called the P.I. Sanjay Singh but he didn't respond.
16:34Then I called the MLA and later I called Mr. Singh.
16:43The rioters were forced to leave the city.
16:52Tensions gripped the town after Hindu group staged protests demanding the removal
16:57of Aurangzeb's tomb from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar and burnt effigies
17:02of the 17th century Mughal ruler. Soon a rumor triggered a large mob to gather.
17:08A huge crowd of about 350-400 people covering their faces, raising slogans,
17:15having weapons in their hands. The sharp knife you can see is in the hands of one of the rioters
17:21accused and the CCTVs have been broken. You can see these motorcycles of the residents have been
17:27burnt. At least 30 police personnel in the eye of the storm sustained injuries.
17:33Over 60 are arrested for the violence.
17:36Security has been upped outside Aurangzeb's tomb in Khultabad amid the violence.
17:58The fight over Aurangzeb has taken a violent turn and an uneasy calm prevails over Nagpur.
18:05With Sumi Rajappan, Mustafa Sheikh and Omkar Wable, Bureau Report, India Today.
18:35All the free government pushes. Nagarjun Dwarkanath has more on that. Talk to us
18:41a little about the manner in which the government is also opposing it.
18:45The assembly to pass 4% minority quota bill. What are the contours of the same?
18:53In fact, the assembly is set to put in a resolution
18:57demanding the union government to take back the vaksh bill is what we are told Sneha.
19:03Not just this resolution, but there are three such resolutions that the assembly is going to
19:09table. In fact, the government is going to table. One is against the vaksh bill. One is against the
19:13union bill. And thirdly, against demanding the union government to have a separate percentage
19:19of budget for SC and ST fund. Karnataka government has something called SCPTSP where
19:25certain percentage of the funds, around 24% of the funds and budget has to be compulsorily used
19:30for Dalit upliftment and development work in Dalit colonies. And they urge that union government
19:36also should come up with such a practice. Not just that, but the vaksh bill is a bigger issue
19:41that the resolution is asking the union government to take back the union vaksh bill. Remember,
19:47it was also in the JPC committee as well. The Congress government is set to place all
19:52the three resolutions while the BJP is set to protest in the house against this resolution.
19:57All right, I'm going to ask you to be with us. Nagarjun Dwarkanath,
20:00the more news we're reporting on from the state of Karnataka and this
20:04has got to do with the gold smuggling case.
20:07Let's tell you a little about the probe that deepens in the Karnataka gold smuggling matter.
20:12Karnataka actor Rania Rao's arrest in the gold smuggling case has sparked a major investigation
20:29into her financial dealings. Rania's stepfather Ramachandra Rao, a senior DGP rank officer has
20:35been questioned by the cops. Tarun and Rania's 26 trips to Dubai raise suspicions of illicit
20:41dealings. Investigators have uncovered a pattern of frequent international travel,
20:46suspicious financial transactions and links to an alleged Hawala network,
20:50intensifying the probe into Rania's role in smuggling operations. Tarun, a hotelier and
20:54Tollywood actor is under heavy scrutiny for his involvement in Hawala transfers and illicit
21:00financial dealings. The enforcement directorate is examining his bank transactions and business
21:05operations, including his connections to Dubai. Going back to Nagarjun Dwarkanath for more
21:11talk to us about the very latest in the investigations in this matter.
21:41The bank transaction noted in respect of Rania as well as Tarun, both have been in touch for
21:49several years now and also they have transacted between the two accounts and travelled 26 odd
21:57times to Dubai giving suspicious to lot of angles as well. But Tarun from Dubai flew to Hyderabad
22:04on the day Rania got arrested and he tried to escape is what we are told. But then there was
22:08a lookout notice and hence he could not leave the country. Tarun bail orders have been reserved
22:13for today. Most likely by 3pm we'll have a hearing on the final verdict on Tarun's bail plea.
22:19Right. I'm going to leave it at that for the moment. Nagarjun Dwarkanath getting us the very
22:22latest. More news coming in. Ghastly murder, body chopping over illicit affair. Wife lovers
22:28stab merchant navy officer. Muskaan lover Sahil chop Saurabh's body. Chop body dumped in drum
22:34of concrete. Muskaan, Sahil go on vacation after murder. Cops cut open the drum, arrest both the
23:11men. Merchant navy officer Saurabh has been brutally murdered by his wife and his wife's
23:19lover is the information that the police in fact is giving at this point in time. Hides the
23:27dismembered body in a drum. The cops had to cut open the drum to get the body out, to retrieve
23:32the body out. Horrific images on your screens at this point in time. I'm going to go across
23:37to Samar for more. Samar, this is a shocking story. I understand that after murdering her
23:43husband, Muskaan and her lover went off for a vacation. Well, exactly. That's a horrific incident
23:53which came to light here from the district of Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. Days after a 35 year
23:57old merchant navy officer returned to India from London to celebrate his wife's birthday,
24:02he was murdered by his estranged wife and her lover on March 4 in the Brahmapuri region of
24:06Meerut. The cute Muskaan of Soghi and her lover Sahil Shukla dismembered the victim Saurabh Rajput
24:13and sealed his body parts inside a cement-filled drum. That's what the police claim. His decomposed
24:18remains were discovered nearly 15 days later on Tuesday in his rented house. It's worth mentioning
24:24that SPCT Ayush Vikram has said that police received a tip-off about a foul smell emanating
24:30from the victim's house. Upon investigation, we found his body chopped into multiple pieces and
24:35sealed inside a water drum filled with cement, presumably to hasten the decomposition. Also,
24:41the accused, Muskaan of Soghi and Sahil Shukla, have been taken into custody and booked for murder
24:46and destruction of evidence. They will be produced before the court on Wednesday. It's worth
24:50mentioning that police revealed that Muskaan and Saurabh had married in 2016 despite their
24:55family's disapproval, leaving them to live in a rented apartment. The couple also have a 6-year-old
25:02daughter. Those in the city believe Muskaan and Sahil killed Saurabh on March 4 before leaving
25:07for a trip to Brazil. Meanwhile, Muskaan misled Saurabh's people and family by pretending he was
25:12alive.
25:203.
25:28Congress MP Shashi Tharoor in awe of Modi's diplomacy
25:33Tharoor has lauded Modi government position on Ukraine. That's the story at this hour.
25:38Shashi Tharoor says, wiping egg off my face. Congress MP says, wrongly slam Modi Ukraine
25:45Modi can hug Putin and Zelensky, says Shashi Tharoor. Modi can help in lasting peace. Very
25:51few can do what India is doing, says Shashi Tharoor, in praise of the Prime Minister.
26:15Shashi Tharoor says,
26:16violation of the principle of the inviolability of borders, of the sovereignty of an understate,
26:21namely Ukraine. We had always stood for the admissibility of the use of force to settle
26:26international disputes. And all of those principles, I said, had been violated by one party
26:31and we should have condemned it. Well, a couple of years later, three years later, it does look
26:36like I'm the one with egg on my face because clearly the policy has meant that India has
26:40actually a prime minister who can hug both the president of Ukraine and the president of Moscow
26:45two weeks apart and be accepted in both places. And therefore, India is in a position where it
26:52can make a difference to a lasting peace if it was so required in ways that very few countries
26:59would be able to. It was one person. Okay. Rahul Gautam has more on that. Rahul, it's not
27:07be with us. In fact, Rahul, I'll come back to you, my colleague, getting in those details. Tom
27:11Vadakan of the BJP with us as well. Tom Vadakan, Shashi Tharoor in praise of Prime Minister Narendra
27:17Modi's and India's approach as far as the issue of the war is concerned here. How do you respond to
27:23it? Well, it's not just about Shashi Tharoor. The whole world at large has seen it, how Prime
27:30Minister Modi was able to get into a situation where he had both the sides negotiating and he
27:37could talk peace with each one of them. That was the policy that we have always adopted. And I
27:43think it is under Modi's leadership that this has occurred because normally you're in one side or
27:49the other side. Now, if Shashi Tharoor is realized, I think it should be the realization that the
27:55Congress Party should also realize that foreign policy issues that are being handled by the Prime
28:02Minister is absolutely something that we have not seen earlier. And that's an extraordinary effort
28:09that has been recognized by President Trump, that's been recognized by the Italian Prime
28:15Minister and the world over it's been accepted. And we are ready for peace anywhere in the globe
28:22because we have held that peace is the only way out. And that is what the Prime Minister has led
28:28from the front. So I think that's very clear. Shashi has realized that he's seen the light,
28:33good for him. And I think if he preaches this to his own party, it will do them a lot of good.
28:41Right. I'm going to thank you for joining in with your views on that. Tom Bracken of
28:45the Bharatiya Janata Party, they're talking about how the entire world is appreciative
28:50of this, of the policy of India's foreign policy vis-a-vis Ukraine and Russia. Rahul Gautam,
28:56it comes in now, this praise comes in from Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who's been in fact
29:02praising the Modi government and the Prime Minister himself very often, isn't it?
29:07Leaving many in the Congress extremely uncomfortable. Well, within a month, this is the second time when
29:14Shashi Tharoor, you know, had praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier he said that
29:21the Prime Minister's visit to USA and his meeting with Trump is going to yield
29:27fruitful results for the country. At that point of time also, his comments led, you know,
29:33quite of outrage within the party and party itself distanced, you know, from the remarks saying that
29:39these remarks were made in personal capacity. Later on, he also defended, you know, his remarks
29:45saying that I cannot always speak on behalf of political party and whatever I feel, you know,
29:51good about the incumbent government, I would certainly be not hesitating to speak about it.
29:57And now again, Prime Minister's, you know, stance on Ukraine has got, has drawn praises from
30:03Shashi Tharoor and in fact, Mr. Tharoor said that he was the only parliamentarian who actually
30:09condemned the stand that was taken by India back in 2022 when war broke out between Ukraine and
30:17Russia and in fact said that he has been proved wrong, you know, by the given stance and clearly
30:24Prime Minister is one person who can actually go and have Ukrainian Premier and Russian Premier
30:31within two weeks apart and still can have good relationships with both the countries. So clearly
30:36it seems that this, this comment you rightly pointed out will not be going well with Congress
30:41leaders and you can expect that at least Kerala leaders would not be impressed with these,
30:47with these remarks. Absolutely. How they've always been upset, remarks or no remarks,
30:53many problems as far as the Kerala Congress is concerned. Be with us, Rahul Gautam,
30:57coming back to you in a moment from now, listening to Shashi Tharoor once again.
31:28to settle international disputes and all of those principles I said had been violated
31:32by one party and we should have condemned it. Well, a couple of years later, three years later,
31:37it does look like I'm the one with egg on my face because clearly the policy has meant that
31:42India has actually a Prime Minister who can hug both the President of Ukraine and the President
31:47of Moscow two weeks apart and, and be accepted in both places and therefore India is in a position
31:53where it can make a difference to a lasting peace, if it was so required,
31:59in ways that very few countries would be able to.
32:17And a very own space girl, Sunita Williams is finally back on earth after being stranded in
32:23space for a nine-month mission that was initially meant to last just nine days.
32:28Sunita Williams and Butch Willmore have safely returned to earth. A SpaceX Dragon capsule made
32:33a spectacular splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Tallahassee following a 17-hour
32:41descent. Sunita and the crew were extracted off the capsule immediately upon splashdown.
32:48She was spotted smiling, waving, giving a thumbs-up as she was extracted from the SpaceX
32:53capsule named Freedom. The two astronauts traveled along with NASA's Nick Hague and
32:58Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov for 17 hours on their journey back home to earth.
33:06Sunita's return marks the conclusion of a historic space odyssey
33:10and paves the way for new opportunities in space exploration and scientific discoveries.
33:19Take a look at the exact moment when the crew nine did the successful splashdown
33:24off the coast of Florida marking the end of their mission.
33:49The view there of the reefing on those parachutes and as those parachutes,
33:56those main parachutes begin to inflate fully for beautiful paints as resting places for their arms.
34:03They were just in space moments ago so their arms were able to float freely, able to float freely.
34:11400 meters
34:12and splashdown crew nine back on earth.
34:27And SpaceX Freedom splashdown. Good main release. Copy splashdown. We see main chutes cut.
34:35We see main chutes cut. Nick, Alex, Butch, Sunny, on behalf of SpaceX, welcome home.
34:46We can see those fastboats. SpaceX is go for recovery personnel. The astronauts will remain
34:50seated and in their suits at this point but the onboard air conditioning keeps things temperature
34:55controlled inside the spacecraft so the crew remains comfortable.
34:59The capsule will be placed inside of what you can see there
35:03is basically a basket. We call it the nest, dragon nest.
35:14So once securely on, welcome aboard the recovery vessel.
35:19Recovery personnel are completing final checks.
35:21And there you have it. The side hatch is open for the first time since September.
35:38And there we do see crew nine, some happy waves, smiles all around back on earth.
35:45It looks like we're getting our next crew member here. That is none other than Sunny Williams.
35:51Big smile, big waves. She, like her other crew members, now will be assisted onto the mobility aid.
36:13There we have it. Some waves, some thumbs up, and some smiles.
36:16We're getting some views of him now as he egresses or exits the spacecraft.
36:37Once again, some elation and cheers there from Butch Wilmore.
36:46We can see folks on board clapping as our first crew member.
36:54And that is NASA astronaut Nick Haig, commander of crew nine.
37:01Now out of Crew Dragon Freedom.
37:06Some smiles, thumbs up, and a wave. Can't get any better than that.
37:10Spent 171 days in space alongside.
37:17Greatly appreciate your interest in the commercial crew program and also human spaceflight.
37:23Of course, as you know, it's been just a huge week for commercial crew.
37:28You know, the missions, I think, sometimes seem easier than they are.
37:32If I just step back and think about all the challenges we had to launch crew nine,
37:38moving to a different launch pad, adjusting the seats and the crew training.
37:43And then, you know, over the weekend, once we docked crew 10 safely,
37:49looking at the weather patterns, finding this great opportunity that we landed at today,
37:53adjusting the timeline.
37:56You know, it's never easy. Spaceflight's always dynamic.
37:59Sometimes it seems like things move from step to step to step,
38:02but there's usually different paths along the way.
38:04I want to tell you, I want to thank the crew nine team and the ground teams
38:08for their dedication to excellence, their resilience,
38:11their flexibility during this expedition.
38:14Everything they did to have a successful expedition, as you have all witnessed.
38:20SpaceX has been an incredible partner for us.
38:24And it shows the benefits of the commercial, public, private partnership that we have.
38:29So they've just been a huge, great partner throughout all this.
38:34Crew nine, in addition to the spacewalks that many of you witnessed,
38:38they performed just about 150 experiments on board the International Space Station
38:44with over 900 hours of research.
38:46And the work we do on the International Space Station benefits the nation,
38:50benefits people on Earth and are the building blocks for going back to the moon and to Mars.
38:58And it was a dolphin welcome to Earth for crew nine's return.
39:02Take a look.
39:04Dolphin cam back again.
39:06We can see that closing the distance there between...
39:10Oh, dolphin cam back again.
39:14We can see that the Dragon capsule and the recovery vessel, that distance is closing.
39:20Again, this is just one more step as we continue to work recovery operations for Dragon freedom.
39:28And we anticipate the lift of the Dragon capsule to occur here in just a few minutes.
39:36Now, once all of the rigging is on the capsule and it's hooked up to the recovery vessel,
39:42we will see the hydraulic arm, which is that kind of like bridge-like structure
39:47there at the aft end of the recovery vessel.
39:51We'll see that articulate backwards.
39:54And that's a good sign that we're getting even closer to pulling the capsule out of the water.
