00:00First crop yearling sire, City of Light, has been the talk of the Keeneland sales ground
00:05this week after he produced a pair of million-dollar colts, including the current $1.7 million
00:11sale-topper.
00:12While high demand has made it challenging for buyers to get their hands on yearlings
00:16by this lane-zoned sire, there are plenty more City of Light progeny still to sell in
00:21the coming days.
00:23We took a look at some of his yearlings going through Book 3 this weekend at Keeneland.
00:29The September sale results for City of Light so far have been astounding, nothing short
00:35of it really.
00:36I think it's a testament to the type of physical that he throws, the quality that he puts into
00:41all of his foals.
00:43And the market is really reflective of the individuals that are out there.
00:47If you have a nice individual, whether it's in Book 1 or Book 5, you're going to do well
00:52with it.
00:54That sort of quality is what's sought out.
00:58Going into Book 3, I expect the same sort of trends.
01:02With how well they've been received in the earlier books, I only see it continuing on
01:08in the second part of the sale.
01:11This is a lovely colt.
01:13We've always liked him.
01:15He's so well-balanced and so athletic.
01:17He's a lovely walker.
01:21Knowing the mare the way we do, we've raised all her foals.
01:27If she gets a good one, you can tell from the beginning it's going to be a good one.
01:31Selcourt was a superstar.
01:33This was a really nice colt too, and she gets lots of runners.
01:38We're thrilled to have him here.
01:42So we are selling 1408 on Saturday, a City of Light filly out of Betty Draper.
01:51It's a lovely filly who stands over a lot of grounds, and she's very athletic.
01:57What we love the most is the way she moves.
01:58She's very fluid and efficient when she moves.
02:00She's got that side, that look that most of the City of Light has.
02:06So we are very pleased to be able to present her to the market.
02:10Obviously, City of Light had a good day yesterday and today, and that filly by herself, without
02:17the sigh of power, talks for herself.
02:20We're excited to present her to the sales.
02:25The City of Light filly that we have on offer in Book 3 is out of a Dixie Union mare called
02:29Dixie Victory.
02:30She's a perfect package to look at.
02:34She moves well.
02:35She's got a great range of motion.
02:38She's keen-looking too, pretty head and eye, and she's the type that I think would suit
02:43any end-user or a pinhooker, whether you're looking to go to the races or resell next
02:48year.
02:50We love all the City of Lights.
02:53We had a really nice one last night that sold for us in Book 2, and he was really nice.
02:57But this filly, they seem to have, he's stamping their horses, and it seems like every one
03:02of them have a great walk, great attitude, good body, good shape.
03:06Well, I really like her attitude and everything.
03:09She's real forward.
03:10Every time you bring her out to show her, she's always on and ready to go, just like
03:14she wants to do a job and go forward.
03:17Just stands up nicely, does her job, big walk, does everything perfectly for us at this
03:23point.
