00:00Okay, I know you're excited. Look, she's sniffing it.
00:04Oh, she's trying to get it.
00:06You don't feed yourself, miss, I feed you.
00:08An Aussie ranger stepped in as a surrogate mum
00:11after a tiny rufous bedding joey buttercup
00:13was orphaned in Barrington Wildlife Sanctuary.
00:16Alright, guys, here we are at the Aussie Ark House
00:18and it's time to feed Buttercup my baby bettong.
00:22The one-month-old was thrown from her mother's pouch,
00:25leaving her in need of round-the-clock care.
00:28Riley took on the role, feeding Buttercup
00:30a nutrient-rich milk formula every four hours
00:33and keeping her close 24-7.
00:35Now, six months later, Buttercup is full of energy,
00:39playfully kicking and tussling with her caretaker,
00:41just like beddings do in the wild.
00:44Buttercup will join Aussie Ark's rufous bedding
00:46breeding and rewilding program
00:48once fully weaned and independent.
00:53If you'd like to support Buttercup
00:54and her journey into the future,
00:55feel free to donate now at aussieark.org.au.
