00:00Some lawmakers are now studying how the former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque's application for an asylum in the Netherlands will be blocked.

00:09Some congressmen also want to know how Roque was able to leave the country.

00:20The Makabayan Block has decided to block the application plan for the asylum of the former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.

00:28Roque is now in the Netherlands to help former President Rodrigo Duterte in his case of Crimes Against Humanity in the International Criminal Court.

00:37But in the Philippines, the House Squad Committee is still fighting for contempt and detention orders against him

00:44because he did not comply with the joint panel hearings and refused to submit documents related to the illegal pogos.

00:52If he is granted an asylum, Roque will be given permission to stay in the Netherlands instead of returning to the Philippines

00:59as his protection against persecution or unlawful treatment or harassment due to the issue of religion or politics.

01:06According to House Deputy Minority Leader Franz Castro, they will pass a plan to block Roque's application through the Quadcom.

01:14Through the Government to Government Channel, he may be able to reach the government of the Netherlands.

01:21He has no right to seek asylum in the Netherlands because he is not a victim of political persecution.

01:32Mars, go home and find the people being questioned by the Quadcom and clear yourself first before you go to the lawyer of former President Duterte.

01:48In a separate statement, another Black member, House Assistant Minority Leader Arlene Brosas,

01:55also insisted that the mockery of justice and slander against the Filipinos will be Roque's next step.

02:02House Assistant Majority Leader Jude Asidre added, if nothing is being hidden, why is Roque still avoiding the issue?

02:11It's not just his contempt order from the camera that he's facing, but other serious cases that he should face.

02:20Although the Congress is on a session break now, the Quadcom is expected to continue their hearing this Sunday
