00:00A young man who was hostaged by his younger brother in Manila has been accused of using drugs.

00:07The suspect admitted that he was using drugs.

00:16The man was armed with a knife in one hand.

00:19While his other hand was clasped to the shorts of the man who was being hostaged.

00:26The hostage seems to be talking to the hostage taker.

00:31He repeatedly used a sharp knife.

00:35They were surrounded by the police.

00:40The 28-year-old victim, who is the younger brother of the 30-year-old hostage taker,

00:46The tense encounter that happened yesterday in Tondo, Manila lasted for more than half an hour.

00:54The suspect gave up when his mother arrived.

01:01When his mother arrived, they immediately started crying.

01:05He also gave up his knife.

01:07He surrendered himself.

01:10The suspect explained that he became a hostage

01:13because he did not want to be taken by the Pakyapo brothers.

01:18He was supposed to be transferred to another house

01:20because someone was threatening his life in their place in Tondo.

01:43The suspect admitted that he was using drugs when he was hostaging the brother.

01:47According to the police, the suspect was jailed because of illegal drugs and robbery snatching.

01:53He blames himself for what he did.

01:55It was my brother who did this.

01:57I'm sorry. I hope my brother will forgive me.

02:01The police added that the victim was not seriously injured

02:04but the brother was decidedly charged.

02:06They want to teach their brother a lesson.

02:11The suspect faces a complaint of grave threat, grave coercion, alarms and scandal.

02:17And illegal possession of a bladed weapon.
