Controversial filmmaker Darryl Yap is indicted for cyberlibel by Muntinlupa prosecutors for the teaser of his upcoming film, The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma.

00:12The resolution by the Muntinlupa prosecutor's office, dated Monday, March 17, says he deliberately
00:17and maliciously intended to tarnish the reputation of Vic Soto, whose name was explicitly mentioned
00:23in the teaser.
00:24The prosecutor's office adds,
00:25Yap willfully, unlawfully, and feloniously wrote and posted online the controversial
00:30teaser video where the character of Charito Solis asks the character of Pepsi Paloma if
00:34it's true that Vic Soto raped her.
00:36Paloma's character said yes.
00:39Yap could face a penalty of up to six years in prison.
00:42On January 19, Soto filed 19 counts of violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act against Yap.
00:48Yap's movie is based on real events in 1982 when actress Pepsi Paloma accused comedians
00:53Vic Soto, Joey DeLeon, and Ritchie DeHorsey of rape but later dropped the charges.
00:58Three years later, Paloma was found dead in an alleged suicide by hanging.
