00:00Reparations are an integral part of the International Criminal Court's process

00:04or the damage done to the victims if the accused is proven guilty.

00:13According to the video explainer of the ICC,

00:15monetary compensation, rehabilitation or medical support are included.

00:21Victims can receive this as an individual or as a group.

00:26While the litigation is ongoing, the ICC will freeze the assets of the accused.

00:32If the accused's wealth is not enough for the reparation,

00:36the ICC can raise funds to help damage the victims.

00:45In many cases, the impact of the crime can be immense

00:49and the guilty person doesn't have enough financial resources

00:52to compensate for the potentially large number of victims.

00:56This is why states have also created a Trust Fund for Victims,

01:01financed by voluntary contributions,

01:04to assist in executing the reparations ordered by the judges.
