00:00Good morning, everybody. Welcome back to another vlog.
00:03It's taken me a while to get used to this new hairstyle.
00:08I think it's the, like, the layers that I'm so not used to.
00:13That and also just, like, having braces.
00:15Sometimes I catch myself and I look like-
00:18I feel like I said this in my last video, but I look like when I was about, like, 12, 13,
00:23and I had, like, my first proper haircut.
00:26Back then we would ask for it to be feathered, which is, like, it was very similar to this,
00:30and I had my braces.
00:32So sometimes I catch myself in the mirror and I'm like,
00:35oh my gosh, it's me as a pre-, like, a young teenager.
00:38So it's still taken me a while to get used to it.
00:41But when I wash my hair, I use a, like, hairdryer brush,
00:49and I basically do this, do this, and put rollers in.
00:54I can't remember what Sam said.
00:56She said something like heat-
00:59heat-er style.
01:04Cold to hold?
01:06Is that what she said? I can't remember.
01:08Make them warm, make the hair warm, put these rollers in, let it cool down, and then I take it out,
01:14which I just thought we could do together at the start of this video.
01:17It's always very 50-50 what it looks like.
01:21I am not a hairstylist. I wish I was.
01:24Let's do this together.
01:25I'm feeling very Easter-y today.
01:28I'm feeling very Easter-y.
01:30I also put, like, volumizing spray in my roots this morning, so.
01:34I'm so, like, here for just Easter vibes.
01:39Wow, I do have big hair today.
01:42That volumizing root spray really volumized.
01:48Okay, last one.
01:50This one's my favourite one, obviously.
01:53The middle? I don't think that is the middle.
01:56There we go.
02:01This does drop as well.
02:03It looks quite, like, severe when you first take the rollers out,
02:08but it does drop.
02:10We've had some beautiful weather recently,
02:14and I've been thoroughly enjoying it.
02:16I've been out in the garden,
02:17been trying to sort of tidy up, weed, get it all, like, nice.
02:24I've even got some seeds growing downstairs in the kitchen,
02:26which I'm very excited about.
02:28The fridge was looking a little crazy.
02:29I don't really know what to do with it.
02:31I'm just gonna let it, like, sit for a minute.
02:33If you have seen Alfie's videos,
02:35then you'll see that he's done, like, the veg patch.
02:37And then where the old veg patch used to be,
02:40I have decided to make those two just flower beds.
02:45So I've gone crazy on growing seeds,
02:48and I went to the garden centre yesterday, got loads of bulbs.
02:51So hopefully by the summer, we will have a veg patch
02:54that is full of beautiful veg that we can pick and eat,
02:57and that the flower beds will be full of beautiful flowers
03:00that we can cut and make bouquets with,
03:03and, like, put in the house, or give to friends and family.
03:07So, yeah, that is what I have been up to.
03:09Something very exciting that I'm jumping straight into in today's video
03:13is the sponsor of today's video, which is Collection.
03:18It is no secret, if you've been here a while,
03:22how much I adore and swear by their Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.
03:29I couldn't tell you how many years I've been using this concealer
03:34as part of my everyday makeup routine.
03:37I need- I would need to, like, go right, right back,
03:41probably to, like, blogging days, I would say.
03:44But I absolutely love it, and have loved it for many, many years.
03:50This concealer is probably my tenth bottle.
03:54I go back to this over and over.
03:56Now I'm gonna use two shades of Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.
04:00It's just the best concealer ever.
04:03Under my eyes, I'm gonna go for the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.
04:08Gonna use the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair.
04:11I'm going for the Collection Lasting Perfection.
04:14The Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.
04:18This stuff is incredible. If you do not have any of this,
04:22I would highly recommend trying it.
04:24I'm gonna put a tiny bit of the Collection Lasting Perfection right in the corners of my eyes.
04:29I'm addicted to this stuff. I can't, like, not use it.
04:32A little bit of my Collection under my eyes,
04:35even though I said I was gonna try makeup I haven't tried before,
04:37but starting with a little bit of Collection.
04:39And this is nothing new. You've seen me do this a thousand times.
04:43Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer.
04:46I am gonna use a bit of my Lasting Perfection Concealer in Ivory under the eyes.
04:53So when Collection came to me and said,
04:54we would love to work with you, we've got a new concealer coming out,
04:58we'd love to get your opinion on it, give it a little try before it's released,
05:01I was like, yes, please. That sounds like the dream.
05:05The new concealer in question is still part of the Lasting Perfection Collection concealer range,
05:12but this is called the Ultra Cover Concealer.
05:16Like their other concealers, they have great coverage, they're very moisturising,
05:21they don't, like, sit in the lines, super easy to blend,
05:24and have the best coverage, in my opinion.
05:27So I'm very excited that I get to share this with you today.
05:31It was going a bit bright, the sun was out. Right.
05:34These were my little testers that I've had in my makeup bag for months.
05:37But it is nice now that I have the actual proper packaging.
05:41One thing I also love about this new concealer is the size of the applicator.
05:48Ooh, I love it. It means you can kind of put it everywhere, which I do anyway.
05:52Some days I literally just wear this.
05:54It gives me enough coverage to blend in any areas where I feel like I need to.
05:58And then I either go on top with a little BB cream, or I just leave it like that.
06:02It's that blendable and easy that sometimes I just don't need anything else.
06:08I thought there was no better way of explaining to you how amazing this concealer is,
06:14and how much I love it, than actually just showing you.
06:17So I'm gonna pop some on.
06:23I'm not shy with the amount of concealer I put on.
06:26And I quite like to put a slightly lighter colour under my eyes,
06:30and then on my skin.
06:36I go a little darker.
06:40I think one of the reasons I've always been very loyal to the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
06:44is literally because it blends so nicely under the eyes.
06:50It never irritates my eyes, and I do get quite sensitive eyes.
06:54And it's really long-lasting. I find it really wears quite nicely through the day.
06:58Just thought I'd bring you in a little closer.
07:00This is just concealer.
07:03Collection are also giving me a discount code to share with you guys.
07:06So if you purchase anything from the Lasting Perfection range,
07:10until the end of May, you will get 20% off.
07:14So if you have seen me using Collection over the years, and you have never tried it,
07:19that would actually blow my mind, because I do think it's probably my most used product ever.
07:25My most used, my most purchased.
07:28I'd love to know how much I've actually spent on Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer over the last, like, 12 years.
07:33I have no idea, but it will be a good stat to know.
07:37So yeah, if you have never tried it, never given it a go,
07:40then now is your chance to try it.
07:43And trust me, it is amazing.
07:47I will pop that link in the description box below.
07:50So on some days, this is all I will do, but I am actually gonna finish the rest of my makeup now,
07:54and then we can reconvene, and I can chat you through some of the bits that I bought at the garden centre,
08:01if that's what you're into.
08:02So a little bit later, we are now outside,
08:05and you may hear craziness in the background, because Alfie's got the girls on the swings.
08:11And they are having the best time ever.
08:13Me and mum are about to start putting some of these bulbs into pots.
08:17I was like, what is the word? Pots.
08:20These are some of the bulbs we got. A lot of Dahlias. I love Dahlias.
08:24They're so pretty.
08:26What else did we get? There's some Ranunculus in there.
08:28Anemones.
08:29Anemones.
08:31Gladiolus.
08:33There's a real mixture, but basically anything I thought would be really pretty to cut and make bouquets with.
08:39I can't see. I might have to get a hairband.
08:42My hair is just all over my face.
08:45No, he's like, I can't see.
08:47You've got nothing enough to cover.
08:48Is that enough in these?
08:49Yeah.
08:50Yeah.
08:50Okay.
08:50Yeah.
08:51Are you ready?
08:52Ready!
08:53Whee!
08:57You clever girl.
08:59Oh, what is that?
09:01I think we need to use these.
09:03I'm a happy tea.
09:05Oh, here comes the cat in the hat.
09:07Hello.
09:09Lose it. Lose it. Lose it.
09:13Oh.
09:15So we do that white one.
09:17Lovely.
09:18We could probably put both of them in there, to be honest.
09:20Both of these.
09:23What do you think?
09:28Perfect.
09:29There we go.
09:30Look at Ottie. She's written her name in chalk on here.
09:33So cute.
09:35We've done a few pots.
09:37We've still got some more to do, but it's a good start.
09:39A lot of dahlias so far, which I'm very happy about.
09:43Giving them a little water.
09:45And now we wait.
09:46Good morning, everybody.
09:48We are out on a little walk.
09:51There's mud on my boots.
09:53Oh, that's OK. You've got your wellies on.
09:55Oh, Nala's doing a poo as well.
09:57What a great time to start the video.
09:59Muddy boots and dog poo.
10:01Maybe that's what I'll call the vlog.
10:03What was I saying?
10:04Yes, we're out on a walk.
10:06We are currently going through a bit of a nap transition with Novi.
10:09So we're having to do a lot more to try and keep her awake until her nap time.
10:14And today she is struggling a little bit.
10:17So we're outside. We're getting some fresh air.
10:19We've got Nala.
10:21Ottie's on the scooter.
10:23I'm also wearing Alfie's hat. Stole it.
10:26I figured it says morning person. He can't wear that.
10:29So if you go along and then you press it, like that, it slows you down.
10:33Scooter lessons with Daddy.
10:35It's quite hard, though.
10:37I feel like this is high risk.
10:39She's going to slam my foot.
10:41Yeah, just gently. Yeah, OK.
10:45You all right in there, Novi?
10:50Imagine just being pushed around.
10:52Whilst you're tired.
10:54Just chilling, sitting back.
10:58That's a nice stick you got there.
11:00Ottie would be very upset if this was to be lost.
11:03She was out on her scooter like...
11:08It's OK.
11:11It's half the size.
11:13She might not notice.
11:14Thank you for waiting.
11:19You went over the bump.
11:22I did say in my last video I would show you Alfie's Vegpatch.
11:26It's our Vegpatch. It's not mine.
11:28It's because you did all the work. I don't feel like I can take any credit.
11:31Yeah, it's just the family.
11:33The family Vegpatch.
11:35Have you seen the fence in yours yet?
11:37No.
11:40Whoa, muddy.
11:44Family Vegpatch version 2.0.
11:47Which is an upgrade from, if anyone remembers,
11:49these are the two patches that we said we had last time.
11:52I did actually have a day.
11:54I say a day, it was like two hours with my mum.
11:57Where we cleared this.
11:59And we've just got a tiny bit more to clear over there.
12:01I did actually get a couple of little clips, so I'll insert those now.
12:05Good afternoon.
12:07We are currently in the garden.
12:09As Alfie had his project,
12:12I just thought we can't walk around here to the beautiful Vegpatch.
12:17Walking past this.
12:19Via, it was two of these.
12:21It's a sunny day.
12:23So we decided to get out and pull it all out.
12:27Granted mum has done the majority of the much harder stuff like this.
12:32What are you doing now mum?
12:34I just thought I was going to go in first.
12:36That would have been one for Jeremy Eagle.
12:39It's very satisfying, like pulling it all out.
12:43I'm starting on this one now.
12:45I wish we had a clip half an hour ago of what this one looked like.
12:48It wasn't far off this kind of thing.
12:51Yeah.
12:52So yeah, that is what we're up to.
12:55So the plan is.
12:58These two beds will now just be the flowers.
13:02Which is why I've gone seed and bulb crazy.
13:05Once I've cleared the rest of those weeds out there.
13:09Some of them are already coming through look.
13:11Yeah they're coming through a lot.
13:12Lots of the daffodils are coming through.
13:16So yeah, these are going to be flowers.
13:18And then this is the veg patch.
13:22Obviously we haven't finished it yet.
13:24It's not complete.
13:25We've got more compost.
13:26Look, see those bags over there.
13:27You haven't seen them yet.
13:28Oh yeah, we've got more compost.
13:30We've got more wood chip coming.
13:32But Alfie arranged to have this fence built.
13:36Just to try and keep rabbits out.
13:38I mean they're actually pretty big rabbits.
13:41The fence is pretty overkill.
13:43The one thing that we seem to have in our house.
13:47That eats everything.
13:48We put out bulbs, food, pumpkins.
13:51Is two squirrels.
13:53This ain't squirrel proof.
13:54So we'll see how we go.
13:56They could have a field day in here.
13:58But yeah look.
14:02It's so cool.
14:03Alfie literally designed and ordered all of these.
14:08You can watch Alfie's video to see the process.
14:10But I'm really excited to spend days in the spring and summer.
14:16In here with the girls.
14:18Picking little veggies.
14:19Going to make some lunch.
14:20We're still planning what we want to put in each one aren't we?
14:22Also keen to paint all of these.
14:25And then get the girls involved as well.
14:27Like all the fence around it.
14:28Anyway, just a bit of fun.
14:30Just wanted to.
14:31Just a big step up.
14:32We enjoyed it so much when it was the two veg beds before.
14:35You can insert some little clips.
14:37I've got loads of really nice ones for my vlog.
14:38Yeah you can put in.
14:40So just taking it to another level.
14:42Yeah just a little step up.
14:44Because we enjoyed it so much.
14:46And we just feel like the girls now are at an age where they can get a little bit more involved.
14:49Which is quite nice.
14:51But yeah we're planning what we want to do.
14:53What are the name of these in case anyone's interested?
14:56Can't remember.
14:57Should I link them?
14:58Yeah Amazon link.
14:59Yeah you can put it down below.
15:00Okay I'll link them down below.
15:01And they're actually really affordable.
15:02So I think two of them.
15:04Obviously it depends like these two.
15:05Or the two circular ones.
15:06Or these two.
15:07I think it's two for like £70.
15:09And obviously they vary in like size.
15:12And height.
15:13And yeah.
15:14Height and things like that.
15:15So.
15:16I don't know.
15:17Bit of fun.
15:18Oh you're doing some sweeping.
15:20We've got one chewing mud on the spade.
15:22And the other one trying to sweep with like an eight foot broom.
15:26That's the veg patch.
15:28I'm very excited.
15:29That's moss.
15:32Is it soft?
15:35Oh no.
15:39Oh I know.
15:40You love going out the gate.
15:42We've already been on a walk today.
15:45They look nice.
15:46They look pretty.
15:47You want a sniff?
15:51Oh.
16:01Hi.
16:32Good morning.
16:38Bouncy bouncy bouncy.
16:46Hi.
16:49We're on a snowy.
16:59Novie. What's this one? Novie. That's you. I love it. Thank you.
17:07Oh, it's frosty. Now I can see you.
17:34Oh, what have you got? Tea and toast?
18:29They're so sprouted. They're so sprouted. Are you going to help me?
18:33Should we do your sweet peas?
18:37These sweet peas grow a long, long time, don't they?
18:41Yeah, they might take a bit longer.
18:44Look at these ones. Oh, you can see them all under there.
18:47Yeah, look, they're like bursting through the soil.
18:50Chuck is picking up all the soil.
18:51Whoa.
18:52Whoa.
18:53Did you see that?
18:54Did you see that, Daddy?
18:56I did.
18:57It won't be long until you can have a little bunch of flowers in your bedroom that look like that.
19:02Yeah, Mummy said that to me.
19:04It's going to look good, isn't it?
19:05We need to text Nanny a picture.
19:09Yeah.
19:10Should we send Nanny a daily update?
19:12Nanny, look.
19:15Look at you.
19:16So cute.
19:24She was holding her teddy to her ear going, Nanna.
19:26Nanna.
19:28You want to help me chop some fruit?
19:29Wow, that is so lovely.
19:36Oh.
19:37Oh.
19:38You want to cuddle too?
19:44Nanna.
19:45Yeah, you can call her Nanna.
19:46Nanna.
19:47Oh, that's what she's saying, Alfie.
19:49She's not saying Nanna, she's saying Nanna.
19:54That's lovely, Alfie.
19:57Here you go.
19:59Do you want some too?
20:00No, I'm okay.
20:01Okay, right.
20:02I like banana, but I don't want banana now.
20:05Okay.
20:06You hold it like this, Nanny, and then chop it into little pieces.
20:13Oh, say, you didn't have one of the pieces, but I missed the whole one.
20:17No, no, no, we're cutting it up.
20:21You have this piece, Nanny.
20:23Not anymore.
20:25Chop it.
20:26Yeah.
20:28Well done, Rosie.
20:29Oh, you chopped it in half.
20:31That's it.
20:32I'm chopping all of them.
20:33Nanna.
20:34You want this bit?
20:35You just want to eat it?
20:36Yeah.
20:37Not chop it, eat it.
20:38She loves strawberries, doesn't she?
20:41She does.
20:43Maybe you...
20:44Yeah, just eat all of it.
20:47Now, that's enough for me.
20:49Mum.
20:49Mum.
20:50Let's give Novie some berries.
20:52Novie's just going to eat her whole breakfast before we even put it out.
20:56That's it.
20:57Yes, Otte.
20:58Look at that.
20:59Well done.
21:01Chop a little bit up for Novie.
21:03Well done.
21:03Here you go, Novie.
21:04Some watermelon.
21:05Here you go, Novie.
21:08Well done, Otte.
21:11There we go.
21:11Oh, Novie's knife fell.
21:13That's okay.
21:14Hello?
21:15Yeah.
21:16That's incredible.
21:16I've never seen you come up that quickly.
21:17Let's get some pots.
21:18Oh, yes, we will.
21:20I might have to make another trip to the garden centre then and get little pots.
21:43I'm going to put it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
21:50I'm going to put it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
21:52I'm going to put it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
21:54I'm going to put it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
21:56I'm going to put it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
21:58I'm going to put it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
22:00I'm going to put it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
22:02I'm going to put it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
22:04I'm going to put it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
22:06I'm going to put it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
22:08I'm going to put it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
22:14I'm going to put it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celcius.
22:16Good morning!
22:44Just realised I forgot my sunglasses, but that is fine.
22:49I am up, ready to leave, running about because I'm going to get two of my nails fixed in
22:57town.
22:58My nails don't normally break or anything, I don't know what happened.
23:02This one just felt really bendy and then it snapped, and then I chipped this one the day
23:07after I had it done, so I'm going for a little nail fix.
23:12Normally I wouldn't mind too much, but this is my birthday set, I'm going to have these
23:16nails on for my birthday, so I was like, oh maybe I will go and fix my nail so that they're
23:23all still nice for my birthday.
23:24Which is in two weeks time, two weeks today actually, I'm very excited.
23:29I haven't actually managed to have breakfast myself this morning, so would also quite like
23:35to find something to eat, but it's very early and I don't think anything in the lanes opens
23:40till like 10, 11, so I might not be able to do that, because hopefully this nail fix
23:45won't take too long, but we shall see.
23:47I am quite hungry.
23:48Hope you enjoyed the little montage this morning.
23:51Not every morning is the same, and that is one thing about parenthood that I didn't know.
23:58I thought once you had a routine, you kind of did the same thing every day, but no, there's
24:03always a slight variation in our days.
24:07It might change when Ottie goes to school, I feel like then you kind of do need to have
24:10the same morning every morning, but at the moment, every morning is slightly different.
24:16Got something different going on, either Alfie needs to get ready for something, I need to
24:19get ready for something, the girls need to be ready to leave, but this morning it was
24:23me, I needed to get out, so that is what I'm up to, and I'll see you there.
24:29Currently got The Greatest Showman playing, because I introduced Ottie to some of the
24:33songs yesterday, and she loves them, naturally.
24:37Can you believe that came out in 2017?
24:39That has gone so quickly, and yeah, so I might listen to that, I also might listen to a podcast.
24:46Now would be a really good time to listen to an audiobook, wouldn't it?
24:50But I don't know which audiobook I would want to start.
24:57I've got a lot of people telling me to read Fourth Wing, I've got a lot of people telling
25:01me to read A Crown of Thorns and Roses, so I've got both on my Kindle, and I don't know
25:08which one to start.
25:09So if you could let me know in the comments, that would be great, if you've read both,
25:14tell me which one to start, and then maybe I can link it up to my phone, so then whenever
25:21I do a car journey without the girls, I can whack it on, but anyway, see you in town.
25:27Things are fixed, and I also picked up a little coffee for Alfie, and Ottie requested
25:36hot chocolate, so I did get her one, and then I thought I'd throw one in for myself, because
25:42it is, do you know what, it's actually the most beautiful day, it's cold, but the sun
25:46is shining, and it is so crisp and beautiful, I feel like Alfie's gonna wish he came to
25:52meet me in town.
25:53Good evening everybody, we have just put the girls to bed, we've had a really lovely
25:58day today, it is the weekend.
26:00We had a birthday party this morning, which was so much fun, and then we spent the afternoon
26:06at Alfie's parents, and Alfie and Poppy were going through their memory boxes, which was
26:11just so good, you can watch Alfie's video to go and see some of the bits they went through,
26:16but I honestly think that's just one of my favourite things to do, doesn't even need
26:19to be my memories, I love looking through other people's.
26:23I feel like we've nearly just scratched the surface.
26:25There's loads more, there's so many more, it was just, oh it was lovely, and now the
26:30girls are in bed, and I thought I would grab my camera, because this is like one of my
26:35favourite very quick dinners to do, if I feel like a pizza, and I've got all the bits in
26:39the fridge, it's just very good.
26:43I don't usually randomly have all these things, but I did have this in mind when I did the
26:48food shop, because it's so good, so M&S do these like plain fired pizza, pizza bases,
26:58curated with their 30 hour slow fermented dough, probably one of my favourite like instant
27:04pizza bases that you can get, obviously in the summer we love a flower pot, like proper
27:09like roll it out yourself, do it yourself pizza for the pizza oven, but in winter, when
27:14you're not rolling out the pizza oven, this is great, and it's also just a lot quicker,
27:20so if you also don't have the time to make your own, or like proper get the flour out
27:25and roll it out, it's a very good alternative.
27:27When did I first become obsessed with this flavour of pizza?
27:31Was it when I was pregnant with Noby?
27:34What came first, the obsession with the pizza or the sandwich?
27:37The obsession with the pizza.
27:38Because it's very similar isn't it?
27:39It was the pizza before it was the sandwich.
27:41Anyway, it has a name.
27:42It's mortadella, burrata, and pesto, and then you can like crumble up some pistachio and
27:51pop it on the top, and then like a drizzle of balsamic glaze.
27:54I did do this when we were like all over the pizza oven in the summer, and I loved it.
28:02Is it a Bianca?
28:03Is that what it's called?
28:04No I think it's not.
28:05I feel like Pizza Pilgrims do one, so maybe check what it's called on the Pizza Pilgrims
28:11website.
28:12So the first thing I do is get a bit of pesto.
28:14You can make your own if you fancy it.
28:16I haven't got the time this evening, so I'm getting it out of the jar.
28:19Also, as someone who loves pizza, which we all know by now, you would think straying
28:26from the classic like tomato base wouldn't be my vibe, but it is.
28:33It's nice to mix it up sometimes.
28:35If you know of a pizza place that does a banging version of this, please let me know in the
28:40comments, because there's one place that I've had this in London, and it was so good.
28:48I feel like that's where it sparked my love of this pizza, and I don't even remember what
28:53the place was called, but it was really good.
28:56Once you've got your pesto on your base, it literally goes in the oven like this for 11
28:59minutes.
29:00You're cooking essentially a piece of bread with pesto on it, and then it just comes out
29:06of the oven.
29:07You pile this on, you dollop this on, and you do a drizzle of balsamic, and it's just
29:14so good.
29:16My hair needs washing so much.
29:19Aww, I'm back.
29:22Can I show the camera that?
29:24Look at Alfie's phone background.
29:28Literally the cutest thing ever.
29:30She loves those face paints.
29:31I have got it even.
29:32Before people comment, I've got a work phone that has Novy.
29:35Novy on it, which you've only just updated since Ottie was about six months old.
29:43I need an updated picture, actually.
29:44I do have the three of you as my phone background, but I could definitely do with an update.
29:49I thought while the pizza was cooking, we could chat my birthday plans, because I'm
29:55really excited about it, and I do feel like actually some of your input would be really
29:59helpful.
30:01I was thinking about what I wanted to do for my birthday, and it's so tricky, because
30:05I love my birthday so much, and I feel like there's so much pressure around it being like
30:11the perfect day sometimes, that it almost feels like a little bit overwhelming on what
30:16to do.
30:17Now I have the girls, I feel like the excitement is channeled through them, so I almost sometimes
30:23think let's just plan a really fun day for the girls, because I will get the enjoyment
30:27of seeing them have a fun day.
30:30Then I was in the car with Poppy, and she was like, right, what are you doing for your
30:33birthday?
30:34I was like, I don't know, and I sort of listed off all these things that I loved, and I was
30:39like, it would be so fun to do a games night, but we're just not in our games era right
30:45now.
30:46There's too many small kids.
30:47We're all just too tired.
30:50The attention span of the adults is also now far less for us to sit as a family and do,
30:57I don't know, like a game of Monopoly followed by a game of train game.
31:03What's train game actually called, because we call it the train game, but it's not called
31:06that.
31:07Ticket to ride.
31:08That's it.
31:09So I was like, oh, I just do love a game, and I really miss like, I miss playing games.
31:14I was like, what else do I just love, and I was like, but I kind of like, I want like
31:18my friends here, and I want my family here, but I don't want to have a late night because
31:23I want to be in bed.
31:24I don't want to go out, like this is not my vibe, and I was like, wait, tell you one
31:30thing I would really love to try and do is a traitor's game.
31:36I would love to try and kind of replicate as much as you can, you know, at home, not
31:42in a castle in Scotland for like three weeks, just at home in one evening, a game of the
31:47traitors with friends and family.
31:49So that is what we're going to do, and I'm really, really excited about it.
31:53The only thing we do need to try and like, nail is the, the, what do you call it?
32:00A play through, like a run through.
32:03Yeah, I need like a list of like rules and like how the, how the evening is going to
32:08go.
32:09I've read a lot of forums where people have done like traitor's games with their friends
32:12and families, a lot of which have been done over like an entire weekend for like a hen
32:17do for example.
32:18So they've had a lot more time to kind of play the games and to, for the traitors to
32:23discuss like who they want to murder and stuff like that.
32:27I haven't come across too many people that have just played a game in one evening, and
32:31there are a few little hurdles, but I'm trying to like work out.
32:35The first one being, how can the traitors, so there'll be about, how many people will
32:42there be?
32:43About 14 of us, I think, 12 to 14.
32:46How will the traitors discuss who they want to murder without other people noticing?
32:54That's my main one.
32:55I've seen a few ways people have done this, they've either done like WhatsApp chats, hidden
32:59like a notebook in the downstairs toilet so that the traitors can like, and only the traitors
33:04know where it is so they can like write notes to each other.
33:09And then another one I've seen, which I think is the one I'm leaning more towards, is that
33:12when everyone's sat around the table with their eye masks on and possibly some music
33:19playing or something, the traitors remove their blindfolds and just kind of point to
33:23who they think in that moment.
33:27So there's less discussion around who they want to murder, but it's like the safest way
33:31to do it so that no one like catches anybody out.
33:35So if you have done an at-home traitor's game or you have any ideas, I would love to hear
33:39them below.
33:41I'm thinking maybe it will last about three to four hours.
33:45Just isn't that long?
33:46Yeah, I think it will.
33:47I've been playing till like 11pm.
33:49Yeah, from like 7 to 11 or 7 to half 10.
33:52I'm gonna be asleep.
33:53The same.
33:54There's gotta be some buffer room, we all know these things take longer than you think
33:57they're gonna take.
33:58I'm gonna need to get some espressos out.
33:59Yeah, or maybe we should do cocktails, that would be fun.
34:02So ideally, I need to work out how many banishments, how many murders, how many games slash tasks.
34:11I've bought some, what are they called?
34:15Cloaks.
34:16I've bought cloaks, I've bought the chalkboards and the chalk, blindfolds, and I've also bought
34:21the shields.
34:22So I've got two shields to be one in like each game.
34:24That's about as far as we've got.
34:25The format, that's what I was thinking.
34:27I need to go through the format and like the run through of how it will work.
34:31Joe is going to host it, he is going to be Claudia.
34:34I have bought him a wig.
34:35Yeah, it's gonna be good.
34:36No, I don't know if he's gonna wear it.
34:37I feel like he's gonna stay in character.
34:40We should give it to him beforehand.
34:41So he can run through it.
34:42No, and then when he turns up at the house, it doesn't break character.
34:46The whole time he's got like the wig on, I feel like Joe would be great at that.
34:51That's a true test of Joe's acting skills there.
34:53Oh, he'd be great at that.
34:55Yeah, and I think Joe needs to pick, because at first I was like, maybe I should host it.
34:59You know what I'm like, I love to host a game.
35:02I love being in charge.
35:03Yeah, but you being in it will be fun.
35:04And then I was like, it's my birthday, I'd quite like to be in the game.
35:06So Joe is gonna be the one that chooses.
35:08I'm gonna have no input there at all.
35:10He can pick who the traitors are.
35:13I think three traitors is a good number.
35:15Yeah, I think three, and then if like two get kicked out, then Joe, when they take the
35:20blindfold off or however it's done, Joe can be like, pick another traitor to like recruit
35:25somebody.
35:26I feel like it's gonna be sick.
35:27It's gonna be really fun.
35:28Is there like a prize?
35:29I feel like there needs to be a prize.
35:31I feel like there needs to be a prize for whoever, whether it's a traitor who wins or
35:34a-
35:35It has to be like a shareable prize.
35:36Yeah.
35:37In case three faithfuls win it.
35:38Yeah.
35:39What could the prize be?
35:40Anyway, I'm really excited about it.
35:41Yeah, I don't, I feel like people are gonna get really into it.
35:42It's gonna look so, like just imagine everyone wearing their cloaks.
35:48And also the people that we've got like invited, like people come in, is such a mix of like
35:54family, friends, people that know each other, like do you know what I mean, like it's gonna
35:57be such a-
35:58Yeah, so I just want somebody to get like, people to go in so hard, somebody to be so
36:03adamant that they're a faithful and then stand up and be like, I'm a traitor.
36:06I actually kind of hope I'm not a traitor because I think it would be too obvious.
36:09Or don't, Joe's gonna watch this, don't say that because then he'll pick you.
36:10No, Joe knows it would be too obvious.
36:11He's not picking the birthday girl as a traitor.
36:12It's a dumb bluff, you never know.
36:13No, I think you take one look at me and you would know.
36:14I would know.
36:15You're not gonna get it right.
36:16I would know.
36:17No, you wouldn't.
36:18Yes, I would.
36:19Yes, I would.
36:20I'm gonna be active.
36:21Yeah, I can't lie.
36:22I'm gonna be active.
36:23Yeah, I can't lie.
36:28I'm gonna be active like you've never seen before.
36:32I can tell with Alfie, all the time, no matter what game we're playing.
36:35No way.
36:36Yes, I can.
36:37I can.
36:38It's one of my, one of my strengths is knowing when people are lying.
36:42Once the cloak is on, I'm not Alfie anymore.
36:46You wait.
36:47Joe's gonna make you a faithful, trust me.
36:50You're too obvious.
36:51I'm gonna try and read Joe.
36:52I'm gonna try and be like, who would he pick?
36:53I don't know what we'll do in the day.
36:55Maybe go for a little walk or something, just chill.
36:56I really hope we get good, the thing is, March birthday.
36:57It's a Friday.
36:58It's a Friday, but March birthday is quite, you could either get a 14 degree, oh my God,
36:59have I been talking for 10 minutes?
37:00Yeah.
37:01The pizza's nearly done.
37:02There's three seconds left.
37:03Um, yeah, and with a March birthday, you could either get snow, or like a sunny 14 degree
37:04day.
37:05Like, there is no in between.
37:06Now, I'm gonna try and read Joe.
37:07I'm gonna try and be like, who would he pick?
37:08I don't know what we'll do in the day.
37:09Maybe go for a little walk or something, just chill.
37:10I really hope we get good, the thing is, March birthday.
37:11It's a Friday.
37:12It's a Friday, but March birthday is quite, you could either get a 14 degree, oh my God,
37:13have I been talking for 10 minutes?
37:14Yeah.
37:15The pizza's nearly done.
37:16There's three seconds left.
37:17Um, yeah, and with a March birthday, you could either get snow, or like a sunny 14 degree
37:18day.
37:19Like, there is no in between.
37:20Next, take your mortadella.
37:21Honestly, this is the most basic thing in the world.
37:22That's delicious.
37:23It's delicious, but it's basic, AF.
37:24Little bit of burrata.
37:25Got the greatest shot of all time.
37:26I'm gonna try and read Joe.
37:27I'm gonna try and be like, who would he pick?
37:28I don't know what we'll do in the day.
37:29Maybe go for a little walk or something, just chill.
37:31The greatest show man, show man.
37:51Showman.
37:57It's everything you ever want.
38:00It's everything you ever need.
38:03And it's here right in front of you.
38:07Balsamic glaze.
38:11Pizza perfection.
38:13Anyway, I'm gonna eat this and I'm gonna edit some of this.
38:17And then Alfie and I are currently watching Adolescence on Netflix,
38:20which is insanely good.
38:23Alfie's on episode 3, I am on episode 4.
38:27So I think Alfie's gonna watch an episode of that whilst I edit,
38:30and then we're gonna try and watch episode 4 together,
38:33if neither of us actually fall asleep,
38:35which I think is probably what's most likely to happen.
38:39But yeah, I will catch up with you tomorrow. Bye!
38:42Hello and happy Sunday.
38:44It's actually the day you're watching this.
38:46I love a little last minute live.
38:47We did this last time.
38:49We might as well have gone live.
38:51It's not the start, it's the end.
38:56I'm doing one of my favourite things,
38:57which is going through the girls' old clothes
39:00and creating a wardrobe for Dottie.
39:03I feel like I'm your personal stylist.
39:05We are the luckiest.
39:07We are literally the luckiest.
39:11And also I just feel like the age gets better now,
39:13because I feel like the clothes get better the older they get.
39:17There's more, like, cute things.
39:20So I'm basically just holding stuff up to Poppy and Shaun.
39:23This will fit her now.
39:24Oh, that's tiny.
39:26Is she gonna be swimming pool?
39:27No.
39:29I feel like she's gonna love it. She's a little froggy.
39:31Oh, my God.
39:33I want her to see that.
39:34That's so cute.
39:36When she gets longer hair, she will.
39:39Hey, Novi never had long hair when she wore this.
39:42Oh, that's so cute.
39:43Isn't it?
39:45And then Ottie had a matching one.
39:46I feel like it would be good in, like, holiday and evening.
39:48Yeah.
39:49I think so.
39:51And then there's this one, which I think is my favourite.
39:53Oh, my God.
39:54That's so cute.
39:56This little dress.
39:57That is so cute.
39:59Mm, thank you.
40:02Shaun!
40:04We've got two very different vibes.
40:06Shaun wants the black jumper.
40:08This is 9 to 12.
40:10Yeah, but I think by the time she's that age,
40:12she'll look cute in that.
40:13Guys, I know I'm not in this right now,
40:14but, basically,
40:16Nancy doesn't really suit, like,
40:17really girly,
40:19lacy, fruity things.
40:20I like that.
40:22Do you know what this is good for?
40:23If you're going to a birthday,
40:25a kid's birthday party.
40:26It's really nice.
40:289 to 12?
40:29Yeah, let's put it in the holiday party.
40:31That would be Ottie's birthday.
40:32I know you're going to love this one.
40:34Oh, my God.
40:35That's so cute.
40:37You don't like that?
40:38She's even laughing.
40:40Look at her.
40:41Some little sandals.
40:43Yeah, I think she's a fairy.
40:44What's in there?
40:46What's she in?
40:47What about some little, like,
40:49little joggers and a little oversized jumper?
40:50Yeah, what about, like,
40:52a little matching jumper?
40:53Linen dungarees.
40:55They're cute.
40:56Imagine those on holiday.
40:58Imagine this little nappy underneath
40:59of a nappy bar.
41:01Right.
41:02Big nappy bar.
41:04Daddy pig went to open the front door.
41:05Wait, Daddy, cried Peppa.
41:07I can use magic to open the door.
41:09You're having a little bit of double story time.
41:11Yeah, she said she wanted the Tony's.
41:12One on the Tonys and one...
41:13To put the Tony on
41:15and to read five books.
41:16Five books?
41:18Oh, you've got them all there.
41:19Yes, these are the choices.
41:21Which are you listening to,
41:22Mummy or the Tony's?
41:24This and this.
41:25Whoa.
41:27What, this ear is listening to Mummy
41:29and this ear is listening to the Tony's?
41:31Yeah.
41:33Well, that's a magic power I wish I had.
41:36Okay.
41:37Ottie has tangled
41:39both my necklaces together, so
41:41that's going to be fun
41:42to sort out later.
41:44I was like, why is my necklace not long?
41:46Oh, yeah, she tangled them together.
41:48As you can see,
41:49Pop and Sean have gone home.
41:51They've taken lots of
41:52Ottie and Nobie's little clothes.
41:54It's actually very cute
41:55seeing something being worn
41:57by all three of them.
41:58It's my favourite thing ever.
42:00When Poppy and Sean text me a photo of Dotty
42:02in one of the girls' outfits,
42:03I'm immediately trying to look
42:05for when they were wearing it.
42:07It's just so cute.
42:08As you can see,
42:10you might hear Ottie playing in the background.
42:11She's building
42:12Willy Wonka's chocolate factory right now.
42:14We were having some reading
42:16and then I thought it might be
42:18a good idea just to go through
42:20Ottie's bookshelf
42:21because she's got quite a lot of books
42:23that she still loves.
42:24Funny.
42:26Oh, that goes in your
42:27doctor's kit.
42:29She's still got quite a few books
42:30that she read
42:32or enjoyed reading
42:33when she was a lot smaller,
42:35so there's a real variation of books
42:36in her bookshelf right now,
42:38but I definitely feel like
42:39she's due
42:41an influx of, like,
42:42new stories
42:44more catered to, like,
42:46the three- to four-year-olds.
42:47And then it got me thinking.
42:49The other day, somebody said to me,
42:50what are you reading at the moment?
42:52Like, what good books have you read?
42:53And I was like, I wish.
42:55I don't get to read anything.
42:57And then I was like, wait,
42:59I read a book a day
43:01because technically I get to read
43:02Ottie a story
43:04every night.
43:05So I actually have read...
43:07Tomorrow night,
43:08Daddy's going to read it.
43:09Daddy's going to read tomorrow night.
43:11That's right.
43:13I am reading.
43:14It's just not anything
43:16aimed at my age.
43:17It's all aimed
43:19for a three-year-old.
43:20So I just thought
43:22I would sit and chat to you
43:23about some of my personal
43:25favourite stories.
43:26I think Ottie has...
43:28I mean, I haven't asked her
43:29which ones are her favourites,
43:31but these are the ones we read.
43:32These are some of Mummy's
43:34favourites to read you.
43:35The whole family
43:37coming to join us.
43:38I don't like them.
43:41Oh yeah?
43:42Okay, so these are a selection
43:44of some of the books
43:46that I love to read with Ottie,
43:47that Ottie really loves
43:49reading with me.
43:50And I just thought it would be useful
43:52if any of you have
43:53kind of three to four-year-olds
43:55and you want to read them
43:56something new.
43:58I do feel like some of these
43:59you probably already know of,
44:01but you never know.
44:02You never know.
44:04I think I'm going to start
44:05with the most obvious,
44:06Julia Donaldson,
44:08but I thought I would throw in
44:09my two favourites.
44:11I have to say
44:12the ones I enjoy the most
44:14are The Smartest Giant in Town
44:15and The Smeds and the Smoos.
44:17I think these two
44:19are definitely my favourite stories,
44:21my favourite ones to read with Ottie.
44:23I love them.
44:24Basically any Julia Donaldson
44:26Ottie really, really loves.
44:27You might have to just excuse
44:29a lot of background noise.
44:30Everyone's here.
44:32Nobody's playing with the Tonys.
44:33Ottie's building.
44:35Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.
44:36The book with no pictures.
44:38It is essentially
44:39a book
44:41that has no pictures,
44:42but it's just very fun.
44:44It makes you read out
44:45crazy words and things
44:47that don't make sense
44:48and I just feel like
44:50if you have a child
44:51that loves theatrics
44:53and has a good sense of humour
44:55and you are willing
44:57to get really into this,
44:58I feel like your child
45:00might really like it.
45:01It makes it really fun, basically.
45:03Who have you got?
45:04This is my Willy Wonka house.
45:05Wow!
45:07That's amazing!
45:08Now, I'll let Novie
45:10test it all out.
45:11Oh, let's see what she does.
45:13Is this your favourite book?
45:14What's this?
45:16Fluffy chip.
45:17Fluffy chip!
45:19Ba ba ba.
45:20Oh, so fluffy.
45:22Ba ba.
45:23So fluffy.
45:25Thank you, Novie.
45:26Ba ba.
45:28Oh, thanks Ottie.
45:29Side note,
45:31if your child has a Tony box,
45:32this is great.
45:34It's called Today
45:35for Tony's.
45:37It's like a mini podcast
45:38and every single day
45:40they say,
45:41oh, thank you.
45:43I really needed a basket.
45:44Thanks, No.
45:46Check it out.
45:47It's really good.
45:49Ottie really enjoys this.
45:50It has like fact of the day,
45:52joke of the day.
45:53This one is a really great book.
45:55I love reading this with Ottie.
45:56Girls can do anything.
45:58I love this one.
45:59It's called The Biggest Bed in the World.
46:01It's very cute.
46:02Yeah, I kind of don't want to spoil it.
46:04I feel like if I give you like,
46:05I don't want to spoil the story.
46:07So this is one I really love to read with Ottie.
46:09Whatever Next by Jill Murphy.
46:11I don't know what it is about this one.
46:13I think it feels quite nostalgic to me.
46:15But I also just really love
46:16that it encourages
46:19imagination play.
46:21And I think that that's the sort of play
46:22that Ottie really enjoys.
46:24So this is always a fun one to read.
46:26And then this one is just adorable.
46:28It's called Memory Bottles.
46:30It's very cute.
46:31Again, as somebody who loves memories,
46:34capturing memories,
46:35nostalgia,
46:37I enjoy reading this with Ottie.
46:38I just think it's quite a special story.
46:40I would probably say up there with Julia Donaldson,
46:42our favourite author in this house
46:45is Nick Chirat.
46:47Particularly the ones that he has written.
46:50He does a lot of like rhyme.
46:51And Ottie's very into rhyming at the minute.
46:54I genuinely think these books
46:56have made her understand
46:58the whole premise of like rhyming words.
47:00And she's like really into it
47:02and loves like the flow
47:03of a story that rhymes.
47:06And a lot of his are like fun.
47:09As a couple of examples,
47:11we've got Don't Put Your Finger in the Jelly Nelly,
47:14which is a firm favourite.
47:16What's in the Witch's Kitchen?
47:19This one is particularly great.
47:21Look at this end page.
47:23So much fun.
47:25Ness the Nurse,
47:27which Ottie can recite
47:29off by heart.
47:31It's a very good little story.
47:32My Mum and Dad Make Me Laugh.
47:34This is a great story.
47:36I love this one.
47:37And then these are ones with collaborators.
47:39But we've got Never Shake a Rattlesnake.
47:41Tasty Poems.
47:43You love this one.
47:45And...
47:47More Pants!
47:49Obviously it's Nick Chirat.
47:50So the illustrations are bright and colourful
47:52and engaging and...
47:54they're fun for me to read.
47:56And you love them too.
47:57You want me to do those ones?
47:59Do you even know what's in this pile?
48:01No.
48:01No.
48:03I went through and I just basically picked out
48:06any of them that were a little bit young now.
48:08Either for like the memory box
48:10or to go to a charity shop.
48:12And...
48:14Whoa, you're so strong!
48:16And also just picking some out
48:18that we haven't read yet.
48:19Because I just feel like sometimes
48:21some get a bit lost because the favourites get picked.
48:23And then I'm like, ooh, we haven't read this one yet.
48:25But yeah, I would love to know
48:26if there's anything that you read with your kids
48:28that you're like, ah, you must try this story.
48:29It's a favourite in our house
48:31because I love kids' books very much.
48:33We've got lots of books.
48:35You have got lots of books.
48:36You're very, very lucky.
48:37And Nobie got lots of books.
48:38Yes.
48:39Nobie loves reading as much as you.
48:41Well, being read to.
48:43I think I'm going to end today's video here.
48:45It has been such a Sunday kind of Sunday.
48:49I've really enjoyed it.
48:50The weather's been amazing.
48:52It's been so nice hanging out
48:53with Poppy and Sean and Dottie.
48:55I hope you have enjoyed the video today
48:57and I'll see you again really soon.
48:59Bye.
49:00Bye.
