00:00In the Philippines, there are 7,641 islands.
00:14Not to mention the numerous sandbars.
00:30Perfect for sunbathing today.
00:37For those who are planning to land,
00:40look at the window of the airplane,
00:42at this sandbar.
00:44It's just near the airport.
00:48From Tugbungan Port in Barangay Nursery,
00:51you need to ride a flat boat
00:53or a boat without a boat anchor before you can reach it.
00:57It doesn't matter how big the boat is, it won't sink.
01:00It costs Php 600 per trip.
01:02It can accommodate 4 people.
01:04After just 15 minutes,
01:08presto!
01:09The Buntod Sandbar will accompany you.
01:16The Buntod Sandbar can be found in one of the richest parts of our ocean,
01:23between the islands of Masbate and Tikau,
01:27the Masbate Pass.
01:29A large part of it was made into a protected marine area,
01:34the Buntod Reef and Marine Sanctuary.
01:37In the marine sanctuary, it's prohibited to swim there because it's a protected area.
01:43But since the sandbar is not part of the Buntod Reef and Marine Sanctuary,
01:48you can enjoy a one-to-one swim
01:54and snorkeling here.
02:00It's worth it to come here.
02:02The group led by Rizaldo, who takes care of the place,
02:06also rents kayaks here.
02:09Php 200 per hour.
02:11The beauty of the sandbar is that it glows when the tide is low.
02:17It's 400 meters long.
02:20I was amazed by the beauty of the sea because the sand is very clear.
02:24The sand is very fine.
02:26Even if the sandbar sinks when the tide is high,
02:29the white of the sand will still remain.
02:32So you can walk like you're on top of the sea.
02:36Our pride here in Buntod is the Bukayna Hill Mitchell,
02:41the Nemo.
02:42There are all kinds of fish there.
02:45The sandbar is one of the favorite places to visit in Tigamarikina City,
02:50which is Janela.
02:51We've been to Buntod Sandbar twice.
02:54Because that's my mother's hometown.
02:56They also celebrated their grandfather's birthday here.
03:00We were really amazed by the place.
03:02Because there's a place like that in Masbate
03:04where the sandbar is very long and the sand is very white.
03:09Tigamarinduque is very beautiful.
03:12It only takes 30 minutes by boat from the town of Santa Cruz.
03:18You can reach this 50-meter sandbar
03:22with a 360-degree view of the blue water.
03:27From the drone, it's like a hand.
03:30That's why it's called Palad Sandbar.
03:33The water is very clear.
03:35If you drop something, you can see it right under the water.
03:40I was amazed by the water. It's very clean.
03:42And the sand is very fine.
03:45But you have to be careful when you go here.
03:48You can only enjoy the sandbar during low tide.
03:52Because during high tide, it's completely submerged.
03:55This is also a part of fishing for people.
03:58That's why we took care of this place
04:01so that more people can come here and fish.
04:06The Palad Sandbar is one of the favorite destinations
04:10of the motorcycle rider from Quezon City, Kevin.
04:14When he was young,
04:16the whole island of Marinduque rode his motorcycle
04:20for his Marinduque Loop.
04:22He was lucky that the sea allowed him to reach the Palad Sandbar.
04:27The time when he visited here was a bit harsh.
04:31We waited for the rain to stop
04:33so that we can travel to the Palad Sandbar.
04:35When I was flying the drone,
04:37and when I saw my shots, I was really shocked.
04:40But the local government of Santa Cruz
04:43forbade bringing food to the sandbar.
04:46We were discouraged because
04:48if the sand was left dirty or scattered in the place.
04:51That's why some people eat before island hopping.
04:55Another must-try in Santa Cruz
04:58is the dish that is mixed with bopis and dinuguan.
05:02They call it Kare-kare.
05:07We add garlic, pork, a bit of salt, a bit of soy sauce, and pepper.
05:12We'll just sauté it.
05:14Vinegar.
05:15After adding the blood,
05:17we add the chili.
05:21This is now our Kare-kare in Marinduque.
05:23It's really tasty.
05:24The pork and the pork blood.
05:27In the province of Bohol,
05:29even though they have a lot of chocolate hills,
05:32they only have one sandbar.
05:35You can find it in Puntud Island,
05:38or more commonly known as Virgin Island.
05:42Puntud Sandbar has a letter C shape.
05:47It changes its width depending on the time.
05:50Their seafood is also famous here.
05:52You can taste it in their mini seafood market
05:56which is located right by the sea.
06:00But this September,
06:01Virgin Island, as the sandbar,
06:04was closed by the provincial government of Bohol.
06:08But just a little patience
06:10because this summer, it will be reopened.
06:17Now you see them,
06:18now you don't.
06:20Let's be careful with our sandbars
06:23so that they don't sink into pollution
06:26and the beauty of this place will flourish.
06:36Thank you for watching, Kapuso!
