00:00The Minister of Transport, in a media statement on 11th March, has announced the steps to be taken today, 17th March 2025, to address the issue that will benefit the vehicle owners, especially in the inspection process.
00:29First, the removal of the PUSPACOM inspection procedure by introducing the self-declaration concept, which includes 5 inspection items that do not involve the safety aspect.
00:43With this initiative, the vehicle owners only need to make a self-declaration for the following items.
00:52Vehicle body mark, body lettering, marking that shows the identity of the vehicle, speed sign, maximum speed display on the vehicle, emergency assistance kit, emergency assistance equipment in the vehicle, registration number, vehicle specification and registration number,
01:14and passenger seat status for public transport vehicles, that is, the physical status of the passenger seat.
01:22Through this step, the inspection time is expected to be shortened and the failure rate will be reduced due to non-critical reasons from the safety aspect.
01:35For any vehicle that has failed the inspection involving these 5 items before the date of implementation, the vehicle owner can continue to carry out the inspection again at the PUSPACOM in the way above the line starting today.
01:51The vehicle owner can continue to carry out the inspection.
02:07This department would like to emphasize that the implementation of the self-declaration for these 5 items only involves the PUSPACOM inspection procedure.
02:17Each vehicle is still subject to full regulations under the 1987 Road Traffic Act and the following regulations, including the 5 items that will be authorized by the JPJ and other authorization agencies on the highway.
02:38Are these 5 items delayed in the process?
02:42Yes, from the inspection by the JPJ team when we arrived at PUSPACOM, it delayed the inspection by the PUSPACOM inspector.
02:56There were also many cases of failure due to the inspection of these items.
03:03That is why we see that these items are not unnecessary, but they are not critical.
03:11Like the brakes and tires are more critical.
03:14That is what we should pay attention to.
03:17But for the body lettering and the speed stickers, it is more to the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
03:29But we will still take action if we find these items on the road.
03:34Is the PUSPACOM inspection process online?
03:40The PUSPACOM inspection process is online.
03:43In the online PUSPACOM inspection process, there is a part called self-declaration.
03:51So it has to be ticked and it is declared that it complies with all these 5 items.
03:59Is the PUSPACOM inspection process still monitored?
04:02Yes, we will monitor it.
04:03That is what I want to remind the vehicle owners.
04:06Do not take it lightly with the government's restrictions on these 5 items.
04:14Because I am sure that the JPJ team will carry out the operation.
04:19And we have instructed the JPJ team all over the country to monitor and investigate each component of these 5 items
04:31when we carry out the inspection outside.
