00:00The Department of Agriculture predicts that the maximum suggested retail price of imported rice before the end of the month will possibly go down.

00:15Elsa owns a rice mill.

00:17According to her, because the price of rice in the market is going down,

00:21aside from the fact that she can buy more kilos of rice,

00:25the price of each sack of rice in her rice mill will also change.

00:2949 pesos per kilo.

00:31The price will also go down.

00:33Because we sell 15 kilos,

00:35maybe it will go down to 12 or 10.

00:38The Department of Agriculture plans to lower the maximum suggested retail price of 5% broken imported rice by the end of March.

00:46From the current 49 pesos,

00:49the MSRP is being calculated to be 45 pesos per kilo.

00:53Even though the MSRP is not going down from 45 pesos per kilo,

00:57the MSRP will be around 45 to 49 pesos per kilo in Camuning Public Market

01:03while the MSRP is 40 pesos per month in Wellmule Local Rice.

01:06Another option for cheap rice is Kadiwa ng Pangulo,

01:09which can also be bought in public markets like Camuning Public Market.

01:1447 pesos.

01:15It went down because it was 50 pesos before.

01:17But you know, Kadiwa is better.

01:19When I tasted Kadiwa, it was delicious.

01:22If the exchange rate of pesos remains strong

01:25and the price of rice continues to go down in the world market,

01:28the MSRP of imported rice can still go down to 45 pesos.

01:32According to the DA,

01:33the price of rice in Pantaigdigang Mercado has gone down to its lowest for more than two years.

01:39It went down to almost 400 dollars

01:41or more than 22,000 pesos per ton of rice.

01:46And 490 dollars or 28,000 pesos per ton

01:51is the landed cost of 5% broken imported rice.

01:54It is now cheaper by almost 11,500 pesos per ton

01:59compared to its price in November 2024.

02:02If we go back,

02:03the MSRP of rice was first implemented in January with 58 pesos MSRP.

02:08And when it entered March,

02:10the MSRP of rice went down to 49 pesos.
