00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest weather forecast from the Met Office. As we go through
00:05the next few days, high pressure is going to remain firmly in charge. We can see it
00:10really not going very far over the next couple of days. It will eventually move off towards
00:14Europe as we head towards the middle of the week. As that does so, we start to drag in
00:19air from the southeast. So increasingly, warm air will move up towards us as we head towards
00:25Wednesday and Thursday.
00:28So back to here and now, actually we've still got some colder air over us. So a fairly chilly
00:32night to come, especially in the south. We've got this weak weather front across Scotland
00:36that will also begin to move its way a little bit further southwards as the night goes on.
00:41Really it's just a focus of some cloud and a few spots of rain. So for much of the UK
00:45it's actually going to be a dry night. A few fog patches also forming overnight, maybe
00:51across parts of Northern Ireland and along the far south of England.
00:55So under the clear skies we will see a widespread frost in the south, temperatures as low as
01:00minus 4 or minus 5 degrees in the countryside. Where reversely, further north actually it
01:05will be a slightly less cold night than it has been of late.
01:09So we start Sunday off with any fog patches quickly disappearing and the best of the sunshine
01:14really will be across the far south of the UK and actually it's going to remain that
01:18way for the course of the day. Elsewhere, cloud building as the day goes on. Still the
01:23risk of a few spots of rain, courtesy of that weak weather front. But again, it's going
01:28to be fairly light in nature, with maybe western Scotland also seeing some good bright spells
01:34during the course of the day.
01:36Temperatures on Sunday on par with what we saw on Saturday. So highs at best reaching
01:41around 10 to 12 degrees in the brighter moments.
01:47Into the evening and night time period, a lot of the UK seeing fairly cloudy skies.
01:51The clearest of the skies will be down towards the far south-west of England, parts of western
01:55Scotland, maybe north-western England and Northern Ireland too. So where we do see any
02:00clearer skies, we will still see a touch of frost. But I think thanks to the cloud cover,
02:04a lot of us actually seeing temperatures staying above freezing as we begin Monday morning.
02:10But we do start with plenty of cloud. Again, we could just see a few spots of rain developing.
02:14But I'm hopeful as the day goes on, we should start to see the cloud break up a little bit
02:19with the best of sunshine probably across parts of Scotland initially, and then later
02:23on across parts of East Anglia. And that's signs of things to come as we go through into
02:28Tuesday and Wednesday.
02:31Temperatures on Monday, probably a little bit lower than what we have seen over the
02:35weekend, courtesy of that cloud cover. So I think at best maybe 9 to 10 degrees, and
02:40I think feeling a little bit disappointed really if you are stuck under the cloud. But
02:44as we go through the next few days, increasing amounts of sunshine right across to the UK,
02:49and with winds switching around to a south-easterly direction, temperatures will be on the rise
02:53right across the country, but especially so across the south where we will be at least
02:58into the mid-teens by Wednesday. But you can find out more information about the weather
03:02where you live on our app or on our website. But from me for now, take care and I'll see
03:07you again soon.
