00:00Hat-trick hero Bruno Fernandes takes Manchester United
00:03into the quarterfinal of the Europa League.
00:05And what did I say on my road trip?
00:07Positive vibes only.
00:08Premier League, no.
00:09FA Cup, no.
00:11Every other competition, Manchester United have failed,
00:13but the Europa League is ours,
00:15and we will win this trophy.
00:16I honestly, I can feel it.
00:18Tonight, four goals at Old Trafford.
00:20Yes, Oshadad had a man sent off,
00:22but I actually think even besides that,
00:25before that, apart from the first like 10, 20 minutes,
00:27this was the best performance under Ruben Amiram so far.
00:30You can see some players are growing in confidence,
00:32and some players really stood out tonight.
00:34Patrick Dorgoo, it was really nice to see him play,
00:37and he looks like he's progressing already.
00:39Such an exciting game from him, especially the second half.
00:43Aidan Heaven, what a start in Manchester United's
00:46most important game of the season.
00:47Confidence from the manager, and he repaid him.
00:49I'm so excited for what he's got to give
00:52to Manchester United in the future.
00:53He looks like the truth, he genuinely does.
00:54I'm so excited for him.
00:56Bruno Fernandes, how many times am I going to say it?
00:59Ricky, get on that plane, come back to Manchester from Spain,
01:04and come here on the United stand again with me,
01:06and tell me to my face that Bruno Fernandes is the problem.
01:09Please, please tell me to my face
01:12that Bruno Fernandes is the problem, because he's not.
01:14OK, yeah, we're 14th.
01:15OK, yes, I get it.
01:17We're not at the heights we need to be.
01:19But how anyone can look at that team and say,
01:22I know who's the problem, it's Bruno.
01:25Everyone can raise the levels.
01:26Bruno himself, if you haven't watched it already,
01:28go and check out the United stand's interview
01:30with Bruno Fernandes post-game.
01:31It's on the channel now.
01:32Go and check that out.
01:33Bruno Fernandes holds so much accountability,
01:36responds to the keen criticism, and he's a brilliant talker.
01:39And I think, again, shows why he's captain of this club.
01:42Everybody can do better, but he provides over and over again.
01:46I feel like he's the only player in the last 12 years that
01:48has actually, you know, give something to this club,
01:51like thoroughly give something.
01:54The sign is post-Fergie, that has shined brightly.
01:58And he continues to do that, even though this team has
02:01been suffering.
02:02He spoke about Ruben Amram and the future under Ruben Amram.
02:05But tonight, I thought we saw a little glimpse of it.
02:07We saw the team together, and we saw some players really
02:10shining, even Rasmus Hoyland, who has had a really tough time
02:13recently.
02:14All he needed in today's performance was a goal.
02:16All he needed was a goal.
02:18I thought his overall performance was much improved.
02:21He missed some chances, but he was in and around the box.
02:24He was looking lively.
02:25He made some great runs, and he set up Dallo really nicely
02:28for that fourth goal.
02:29I thought he worked really well with Joshua Xerxe.
02:31I said, actually, before the game,
02:33that I think Joshua Xerxe and Rasmus Hoyland
02:35have started to work together a lot better.
02:37A lot of people are criticizing Rasmus Hoyland right now,
02:39but that runs he makes off the last defender.
02:41Xerxe can often find him.
02:42And Joshua Xerxe, wow.
02:45Wow.
02:45I think that's an example of why you shouldn't judge
02:48your players straight away, and you've
02:49got to allow them to adapt to the team.
02:51I mean, I'm not getting carried away.
02:52Israel's so steady in the Europa League.
02:54I get where we are in the prep.
02:56But there's something to hold on to for the future
02:59with this Manchester United side.
03:00There's some youth there where you think,
03:02you know what, in the future, you could be something for us.
03:04And Joshua Xerxe's one of them players.
03:06He really is.
03:07I mean, when he first signed, I was like, not so sure.
03:10Then I was like, you know what, looks like a bit of a baller.
03:12Then I was like, mm, I'm not so sure again.
03:13But he just keeps growing in confidence.
03:15I think physically, he looks miles better.
03:18He's coping with the intensity better.
03:20But technically, on the football, he's class.
03:22He's the reason why we had somebody sent off today.
03:25He is the reason for that, because that three-ball
03:28was fantastic.
03:29And it was very similar to the three-ball
03:31that he put through for Alejandro Ganacho.
03:33Was it last game or maybe the game before that?
03:36And Alejandro Ganacho should have done better with it.
03:38Joshua Xerxe, when he has the ball and he's on the turn,
03:41Ronald Koeman, come to Manchester.
03:42Come to Manchester.
03:43You could have my season ticket for the day,
03:45not for the whole season.
03:46Don't get carried away if we continue like we are,
03:48maybe for the whole season.
03:49But you can have my season ticket.
03:51And you can come and watch Joshua Xerxe.
03:52All this, he's not great at turning with the ball.
03:55He's growing in confidence.
03:57And I do think there's a play there, not as a number nine,
03:59but as a number 10.
04:00I still stand by the fact Bruno and Ahmad
04:02are the only players of the quality
04:04to be starting for a competitive Manchester United side,
04:06like competitive towards the top of the league right now.
04:09But Xerxe showed glimpses.
04:11Rasmus Hoyland showed glimpses today.
04:13And I think that's something that United fans can hold on to,
04:17moving in to the later stages of the season.
04:19Because the prems are off.
04:21I said Leicester on Sunday couldn't really care.
04:24To me, the Premier League is now pre-season.
04:26It is now pre-season.
04:27We're not going to get relegated.
04:29And of course, you want to get as high up the table
04:31as you can for that prize money.
04:32But I doubt we're even going to get top half the table.
04:34Like, we're just not.
04:36So Europa League, that's where all of our eggs
04:38are in that basket.
04:39And this team now, they have pushed us
04:41on to have something to hope for,
04:43something to play for, something to fight for,
04:45something to start your week thinking.
04:47Manchester United could win a trophy at the end of this year.
04:49Manchester United could be playing in the Champions League.
04:52I was watching PSG-Liverpool.
04:54I was watching Bayern Munich versus Leverkusen.
04:57I was watching Real Madrid versus Atletico Madrid.
04:59And I was thinking, could you imagine
05:02if Manchester United got into the Champions League
05:04next year with a format that I think
05:06is a much improved format and is super exciting?
05:09We've not had that kind of excitement in years.
05:12And we need it.
05:13And yes, this team isn't good enough yet
05:15to compete in that competition and get to them later stages.
05:18But who knows what a preseason and some signings can do?
05:21Things can change very quickly in football.
05:22And I do trust in Ruben Amri as a coach.
05:25And today, I actually thought he got it.
05:27I think he got it spot on.
05:28I think we started the game very nervous.
05:30I think we started the game quite shaky.
05:31It's something we need to work on.
05:33I just think sometimes this Manchester United side,
05:35like Ruben Amri said before, they don't trust themselves.
05:37They let Old Trafford swallow them up sometimes.
05:40I think Bruno Fernandes is one of the only players
05:43who doesn't let him affect him.
05:44A lot of these players, Old Trafford gets on their backs
05:46and they get nervous.
05:47But when they actually just play,
05:48like Ruben Amri said, in training,
05:51they seem better.
05:51In the games, they seem nervous.
05:53When they just play and get into the flow of the game
05:55and there's less pressure, they look better.
05:58Against teams that were not expected to win, we look better.
06:02And then tonight, when it went down to 10 men,
06:04we looked a lot more relaxed.
06:06Obviously, you're down to 10 men,
06:07so that's going to make a difference.
06:08But still, sometimes when teams go down to 10 men,
06:11they get super defensive, super compact,
06:14and it can actually be even harder to score.
06:16Like, it can be.
06:16Look at what we did at the Emirates away.
06:18We did that.
06:19But tonight, we took it in our stride
06:20and there was a couple of nervy moments, like a couple,
06:24but nothing to write home about.
06:26And I thought Manchester United created some really good chances.
06:27I thought we actually played some really good football.
06:29Gannaccio drove the ball up the pitch.
06:32I still think his final product needs to be better,
06:35but he got a good assist in there.
06:36Rasmus Hoyland got an assist.
06:37Fidelio, that chop was lovely.
06:39And Bruno Fernandes,
06:41he just knows how to find the back of the net.
06:42Penalties were sublime, sublime.
06:45Cole Palmer, he's meant to be the penalty king.
06:47He's missing.
06:48Bruno Fernandes, can't remember the last time he missed a pen.
06:51Absolute top captain.
06:53And that goal that he scored
06:55when it got passed through to him,
06:56just hit it first time.
06:57It was fantastic.
06:57It was absolutely fantastic.
06:58So where would Manchester United be
07:00without Bruno Fernandes?
07:01I don't know.
07:01But a couple of players that I want to pick out
07:03that I'm super excited about,
07:05Aiden Heaven.
07:06First start in a crucial, crucial, crucial game,
07:09crucial game of our season.
07:10On the ball, top.
07:12Couple of nervy moments, but overall,
07:14I was super comfortable with him with the ball at his feet.
07:16And when Casemiro fizzed it into him,
07:18he had to deal with that.
07:19Casemiro gives me the heebie-jeebies, honestly,
07:22like some great passes in behind from him,
07:24but defensively on the ball,
07:26he scares the life out of me.
07:27But Aiden Heaven dealt with the situation really well.
07:30I think the fact he was driving up the pitch
07:31on that left-hand side,
07:32allowed Dorgu to get higher up the pitch,
07:33which supported our attack.
07:35I thought them two together worked brilliantly.
07:37Patrick Dorgu, end product, can be a bit better,
07:41but super lively, I thought he was great tonight.
07:43Pulled the red card.
07:44Don't know what it was all about, by the way,
07:46he's telling the ref it weren't a pen.
07:47God forbid they went on and scored.
07:49I would have been looking at that like,
07:50always play, always play for the penalty.
07:52Even if you think in the back of your head, it's not a pen.
07:54You've got to play for that penalty.
07:55You've got to do everything,
07:56every ounce of your being to win the game.
07:58But overall, I thought his play was good.
08:00I thought he was looking up.
08:01I thought his passing was nice.
08:03I think he adds that dynamism to that front line.
08:06I really like his runs in behind
08:08and he's always asking for the ball, hand in the air.
08:10And when he receives it,
08:11I think he makes some good decisions.
08:12It's just that final end product
08:14that I think can be worked on,
08:16but super exciting from him.
08:17Not being able to see him in the Premier League
08:19has been disappointing,
08:20but today I think he gave United fans a taste
08:22of what's to come.
08:23And yes, he's still young.
08:24Yes, there's areas to develop.
08:25And I know a lot of people, including myself,
08:27was watching that PSG game and saying,
08:29oh, we should have got Nuno Mendes.
08:30Nuno Mendes is the guy, like he's so good.
08:33Nuno Mendes is, like Nuno Mendes is top tier,
08:37but Patrick Dogger, we've invested in a younger talent,
08:40cheaper talent, and yes,
08:44it might take a little bit more time
08:45for him to go up to that level,
08:47but I think the foundations are there
08:48and I think Amarim knows what he's doing with him.
08:50All the players that stood out tonight,
08:51Joshua Xherxey, I've already spoken about him.
08:53Where do you see him?
08:54Get in the comments down below.
08:55Where do you see his future in this team?
08:57Because for me, he's absolutely a number 10.
09:00He can play at nine, but he's absolutely a number 10.
09:04And then Rasmus Hoyland as well,
09:05I thought hold-up play improved a bit.
09:07His runs in behind, his movement,
09:09I think it was improved.
09:10The passages of play throughout the team
09:12and we did play some really lovely bits of football
09:15as well in and around the box.
09:16Usually you see us rush things,
09:18making the wrong decisions.
09:19There's still a little bit of that in our game,
09:21but there was much more build-up play.
09:22There was much more patience
09:23and it was really nice to see.
09:24And we were getting the wing-backs involved.
09:26Dalot was getting involved.
09:27Doggy was getting involved.
09:29It was nice to see.
09:29And that back line, Delete,
09:31that anchor in there, defensively solid once again.
09:34Referee, I mean, his performance,
09:39I really,
09:42I mean, how many times have you seen
09:44four penalties in a row
09:45over the cross of a two-legged tie?
09:46Like it was iffy to say the least,
09:49but in the end we did benefit from it.
09:51So I am very happy with the win
09:53and Leon is who we face next.
09:55And I think as well as Leon has done
09:57and they have done well so far in the competition,
10:00I think Manchester United, we win that.
10:02We win that and we go through to the semis,
10:03go through to the final.
10:04I've seen Spurs have got through.
10:07Do they scare me a little bit?
10:10The fact that they've beat us three times this season
10:12worries me, but Manchester United wins trophies.
10:15Tottenham Hotspur doesn't.
10:16That's what I'm going to come back to.
10:17But everyone, my man of the match tonight,
10:19let's give it quickly,
10:20was Bruno Fernandes, hat-trick hero.
10:22But there was some real positivity
10:24from some of the younger players in Aiden Heaven,
10:26in Patrick Dargu as well, and Joshua Xherxey.
10:28But thank you everyone for watching.
10:29Get in the comments down below.
10:30Who was your standout player tonight?
10:33What are your predictions for the rest of the competition?
10:35And we've still got stuff to fight for.
10:36We're going into April, everyone.
10:37The season continues.
10:38I'll see you on the next one.
