Mark Carney sworn in as Canada's new prime minister as country faces US trade war

The governing Liberal Party appeared to be poised for a historic election defeat this year until US President Donald Trump declared an economic war and threatened to annex the country as a "51st state".

00:54The annexation threat has infuriated Canadians and caused a spike in nationalism.
