00:00I am in a situation where I have been penalized for a simple mistake.
00:12I've got a season permit to park in a place where parking is not easy.
00:18I had purchased another season ticket, so I was in advance.
00:24I made the mistake of switching my vehicle on the incorrect permit.
00:30Simple mistake, because the system that the council uses is an archaic system.
00:35It's not easy.
00:36I've got two cars and one permit.
00:38I need to, every day, make sure that the right car is switched and is active.
00:43It creates anxiousness, because you never know when you've maybe made the mistake.
00:47Anyway, on this particular occasion, I did switch the vehicle.
00:51I got a confirmation that it was switched, and guess what?
00:56I switched it on the wrong permit, for a future-dated permit, which meant that I had broken the
01:03law and I got a penalty.
01:06I then appealed it, because I felt like it was a simple mistake, where I just clicked
01:10the wrong permit, and it was rejected.
01:13I then appealed it again with more evidence.
01:15It was rejected.
01:16I went through to adjudicator.
01:18The adjudicator couldn't do anything, because, by law, I'd clicked the wrong permit.
01:23However, the council was given the opportunity to show some grace in this situation, and
01:28that was rejected, because their system, their archaic system, could not prove whether two
01:33vehicles or not were parked there.
01:35However, I presented evidence afterwards to show that I was actually in a completely different
01:39location, and it was impossible.
01:42It's still being rejected.
